I think I will send the whole head in with the other injectors and let them worry about it seems like more than I want to get into right now.
-
Im almost done with the in frame rebuild on the superliner but I cant get the injectors out of the cups on the rear head they are stuck tight and I don't want to ruin them I want to have them tested and rebuilt if needed any suggestions from the pros?

I had a real nice Nathan K5LLA on my truck and sold it I kick myself in the ass everytime I think about it.
-
I saw this while going through gov deals its up for auction in Oregon they say they will ship it the engine came out of a freightliner that broke the frame said it ran good when removed and has been stored inside since removal. The seller is a fire department so I assume its from a scrapped fire truck and probably low mileage I believe these were used in the older macks maybe someone has a use for it.

It is but that's better than an empty space on the side of the hood. -

The western macks have a cab that sits much higher than eastern trucks Im going to have to find the older style rear mounting bracket mine is the newer style which wont work and cannot be modified to work. -
Superliner cab arrived today

Me too Mike they sent me the whole set up for the rear of the cab with the shocks and airbag hopefully I can figure out how to use it sure would be better than a solid mount cab. Mounts on the front look pretty much the same the hood rests are different on the bottom they sent me the headlight bezels they are plastic mine are metal but theirs are in better condition. -

That's my 76 chevy my daily driver my 74 Cheyenne super ten sits in the garage. -
My cab arrived from southern California today better than I expected they threw the mirrors and headlight bezels in for nothing so overall Im pretty happy with it. There is one spot where the hood slamming on the firewall has damaged it but thee old cab will make a good donor for the piece I need but best of all no rust.

Heres pics of the carnage Im in for lunch now I have #3 piston to pull yet the rest are out and sitting in the garage they look like they have been sandblasted those broken pieces are the piston itself between the rings the #6 liner came out when I pushed the piston out. The bearings don't look too bad the ones showing copper are the #1 and #2 rod bearings tomorrow after work Im going to pull some of the main caps and see how the bearings are there.
-
Had my friend come over from work yesterday he is our head mechanic at work and rebuilds all our mack engines said the engine needed new liners he has a liner puller so that's going to make things easier he says they are to scored to save. The pistons had a weird burn pattern on them he says the engine was way over fueled we are going to turn the pump down after the rebuild going to pull the rod bearing caps today hope better news comes from what I see there with the bearings.

I am going to freshen up the engine in the superliner I just bought so I called mack for engine upper and lower gasket set as usual the typical dead end the kid at CTI was able to give me some numbers though. Will the typical 673 engine gasket fit the ETAZB 673A engine in the truck I am planning on replacing the rod and main bearings and reringing the pistons there is barely a ridge on the top of the liners so they are not to bad. I was told the engine had burnt pistons so I pulled the heads and found a leaky head gasket that's why when the previous owner said it was smoking white I thought head gasket right away pistons were fine. It didn't have any antifreeze in it the previous owner had drained it to pull one of the heads so when I pulled the coolant filter and saw oil I was surprised there was some in the lower radiator hose when I checked so I will be taking the oil cooler from my 237 parts engine and installing it on this one to fix this problem. I found both the upper and lower sets fro PAI at less than half the price of mack gaskets but need to be sure they will fit before ordering them.
