  1. You can't mount a dayton/clamp style rim backwards, the angles don't allow it. These rims are mounted correctly.
  2. Respectfully Mr. Geoff Weeks please stop with the guessing. The rims that are on the front are designed for the steer application and have the same offset as these https://buytruckwheels.com/products/22-5x-3-hub-pilot-flat-faced-alcoa-aluminum that are a modern version also designed for steer use. This posting isn't a debate on your personal likes/dislikes on tire/wheel choices. The rims are DOT approved and in the manufacturer's designed use location and there is nothing unsafe about the setup. Similar to these trucks:
  3. I installed a new style semi alternator for wiring simplicity and reliability.
  4. Sold pending pickup this week. Mack F-model F685st cab over semi truck -$3,500 obo -5 speed mack manual transmission - mack 672 turbo diesel -mack rear axles -golden bull dog -has minor floor rust on parts of the cab but is solid -starts and runs good, -drives and stops but I wouldn't say it is ready to put to work -22.5 tires tube less 1 piece rims (11r22.5 rear 385/65/22.5 floats on the front) Hold air but are old. -cracks in passenger side windshield but comes with a replacement window -comes with all new brake cans to update to the spring over style parking brakes. -comes with a set of canister style air cleaners -cab tilt works as it should -new water pump -new alternator -new oil hoses -new fuel hoses -new radiator hoses -new rear wheel bearings, races and seals -comes with new front bearings, races and seals. -new cab marker lights and clearance lights -new manual slack adjusters -new brake and back up lights -new belts -new oil in engine, transmission, axles -I bought it from down in Missouri in 2014/2015 and had it hauled to Michigan. The furthest I have driven on the road it is 35 miles one way from when I moved houses a few years ago and licensed it for just that trip. It has sat in the barn as a future project I just never had the time to get to. It has been started up and driven around the backyard a couple times every year to keep things lubricated then tucked back in the barn. $3,500 o.b.o
  5. Also the joining double sliding doors, i finally got cut in and built. It is very hand to have that size of opening to move things in and out between the two ends of the shop.
  6. Still in progress. 1 54 " man door for easy access
  7. Agreed a 1968 is considerably less wires than a 1987. I ran a main power to the fuse/relay block and then replaced one old circuit at a time. Have patience and best of luck with the repairs.
  8. The back end peak took three hours with two helpers. The front took me 4.5 by myself in the dark. But Iโ€™ll take the progress๐Ÿ™‚
  9. The Mack is patiently waiting for operational doors .
  10. My dad , myself and my brother after completing the rear peak wall over thanksgiving.
  11. I always use sylvania led bulbs and never had a problem. This side of the barn will eventually have two two post lifts and a 1 ton jib crane . This is the crane awaiting my gathering of the I beams to mount it .
  12. Had my brother and dad out to help put up the back peak section after thanksgiving dinner. Much better now that it isnโ€™t a wind tunnel anymore.
  13. I plan additional bracing to the sides. It is a yellow pine 2x6 right now and will have a 2x6 brace v โ€˜d off each side. The sides mounts near the wall will just go horizontal to the rafter above with a 2x6 But can you sketch out what you described.๐Ÿค” One more row of lights wired in only two more to go.
  14. Got 1 row of 9. 1500 lumen can lights wired up. I think when the other three are wired in I should have more then enough light .
  15. Managed to get a little more progress done with getting the doors partly installed. Tomorrow I hope to hang the upper tracks and install the springs.
  16. I might beat the snow. But progress is progress๐Ÿง
  17. The walls are still going on but I couldn't resist backing the trailer and F-model inside just to see how it fits. ๐Ÿ˜ About 6" to spare on the length of the trailer and more than enough height . Now to finish up the sides and hang the overhead doors.
  18. Itโ€™s got a roof finally, shingles go on tomorrow. Not to bad as a solo building crew in the evenings after work. ๐Ÿง
  19. The two will be connected with a 10 wide x 9 tall sliding barn door (split 5x9 doors) that roll on tracks in between the two buildings walls. You can see the header for it in the new building right hand wall. That keeps the heat and a/c in the smaller end of the barn. Also I donโ€™t have to go out in the snow to get the the taller end ๐Ÿ™‚
  20. More 2x12โ€™s hauled up the ladder ๐Ÿ™‚
  21. Itโ€™s getting there one board at a time
  22. Thanks it works great for everything but the peak .
  23. Making progress thanks to my brother and dad for help with the heavy lifting. I got a lift rented for this weekend so progress should be a little faster.
  24. After a brief 2 month wait for menards to get my yellow pine 2x6x16 in stock. ( I ordered all the materials back in June ). It has arrived . Well short a few hanger brackets and lacking cap shingles. So I had to drive in to the store and argue with them a bit. We will see how many more months it takes for those to come in. ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก At least I can get the walls and ridge board up this weekend . The Mack and low boy make a handy way to keep the plywood off the ground .
