  1. You're right in my neighborhood on that job. Looks like Vacri Construction's job. Will you be going back to deliver there again ?
  2. Barr is pretty much switched over to Freightliners. Still same blue though.
  3. 5.02 and .78 OD with 20" rubber is gonna max out mid sixties tops. I'd think it'd be good in soft ground. Like good enough that the short tires would be more a hinderance than the gearing. And like Paul mentioned, easy to damage itself if misused .
  4. This fleet was probably around The Finger Lakes in New York. Likely Lake Cayuga and was involved in salt one way or another. Most of those fleets, the trucks rusted away to nothing. There were a lot of guys employed by them though, and some are probably still around. Lots of Macks were used in those operations . If Armo's lucky, Brocky might have some input on this subject.
  5. What ever happened to Skippy ?
  6. Congradulations . At the rate you were going on that truck, I don't think anyone here is surpised you finished in your time frame. Truck looks good.
  7. That's exactly what cures that issue. in 2024, not many guys are aware of that repair or able to make it. I'd be looking in that area if I was looking for a vacuum leak. (IDK.... does eather even work for that any more ?)
  8. Some old carbs wear around the throttle plate rod that goes through the base plate. Makes vacuum leaks there's no fixing
  9. Ya know ??? for a novelty truck like you'll be using it, probably any carb with the same base bore spacing will get it to run. It's only a 400, lots of Fords used a 2 barrel on 390s and such.
  10. That looks like it might have been a useful piece of equipment at one time. Cool Power too.
  11. Notice how he had the good sense to leave the Superliner home and nott ake it out in the rain 😉 Nice video.
  12. I've never seen a clean break in there. Usually to some extent the axle shatters. Even if you do manage to get the broken piece out of the side gear and out the housing, your proud feeling of accomplishment fades fast when you hold it again the other part and realize lots of axle is missing. This is most often a case of the longest route actually being the shortest.
  13. Is he the real Family Guy ? Looks like him and is about as smart.
  14. Flanked by a couple Autocars no less. All Pennsylvania's finest.
  15. Volvo is developing engines as well. High tech..... but still Diesel fired.
  16. That truck needs nothing , other than that guy keep using it. 😉
  17. We still luv ya
  18. That was pretty fast. Guy didn't fool around .
  19. I'm like'n the 1150 TC. They were quite the piece of equipment for their time. Rare sight here now.
  20. I believe that arrangement is called "modular" (that valve that you just keep adding to for more components to control withone air source) 👨‍🎓
  21. Is that the new hood ornament they'll be using on the macks made in Mexico ? Or will they be modeled after a chihuahua ?
  22. Why would Mack or Volvo ever put a big engine in a truck again ? The MP10 or D16 did miserably as far as sales went. Most vocational trucks don't need them and most VNLs ??? the guy with the ear buds and crocks.... he couldn't care less. Then factor in the handful of guys that think they need a 600, and have no idea how to actually use something like that, He'll be back crying for warranty on stuff that isn't covered. Caterpillar saw it coming, now Volvo does too.
  23. Safe bet you'll never see a big bore engine in a Mack ever again.
  24. They can check all they want Bob, when they have only a small idea what they're looking at there's not much chance to get it fixed. Now if it was some mindless thing on tick tok or something you needed fixed.... you'd be all set. But hey !!!! they showed up that day 🤣
  25. Be a nice tractor for a dump trailer in New York with a 117000 pound permit. 😏 take those gay mufflers off and let that puppy bark.
