    They're probably nine inch in the picture . Those tires don't look too big. I'd Imagine 9s can be found with an offset. In 2022 ? some of the paint from spray cans is really pretty good. Sorta moving away from the rattle can of 25 years ago.

    Good luck axling 73280 if you go on any Interstate hiway. They throw that part in there and then it often turns into the cop's interpretation of what's what. 20000 on that trucks' steer ??? I don't see much problem and taking weight off the steer with the lift axle ? I don't see much trouble with that either. I think you have a winner there for what you're using it for.

    Now that you pointed it out, it looks like the fender is taller. Note the hood latch as well seems the Australian trucks often have the cab higher from the frame and then something done with the hood to accommodate that 🤔 whatever it is, that's a pretty good looking Superliner

    Good clamps and spacers, they stay put. Don't see many around here. I'd guess in Australia the weather is much more favorable to chrome on trucks.

    Funny you ask, no. Those were just regular 12 and a quarters. I did have beauty rings on them at one time. That truck in the avatar was inspired by another RW from Canada that had chrome 8.25X24.5s on it and aluminum budds on the steer. His was an awesome truck, he put a ton of money in it and it looked great...and he used it. He swapped the 44s out for 58s and had the chrome rims on it. I didn't have pockets as deep (lol)

    Pretty common issue with those harnesses. On the bright side ???? likely avoiding some other harness related issue that wasn't too far away from showing up.

    I've seen adds for a different kind of bushing. EtCon ??? or something like that. I've often wondered if they would be better than plastic. I almost think they don't require grease either...... not many of those free magazines come anymore, used to see them in the back pages.

    Sounds like an engine brake problem, which could be something simple or a serious problem . Good move walking away from him not wanting to make it right.

    (lol) like everyone else, I went to their site and looked at it. All depends how much they want for it. Just a guess, but I think that truck has a fair amount of work left in it.

    On an old truck like that ?? miles are probably correct. That truck wasn't made to go millions of miles. Just not the nature of a construction truck. Hours mean more to one of those. Above and beyond all ??? if it was taken care of is what really matters. Those trucks like in that add were a very good truck for what they were made for, and that one likely still has some life left in it. I didn't see anything confirming that one is even a dump truck ??

    FYI.... that add ? that's a real dump truck spec. Maybe not the most glamourous , but way better than a converted tractor if it's in any kind of shape and not abused or neglected

    R.E.D. is 100% on this. No offence, but even thinking about try'n this repair armed with a 1/2" impact ??? It's outta your league, and not out of the question someone can end up hurt. Right now, this problem can still be cured with a blank check. Crushed by the truck, or wrecked ??? not as easy to make go away.

    Judging by that tag on the rear ? It's not a Mack reman , early failure of those isn't uncommon. Those plugs you mentioned up on the power divider and side cover for the bevel gear will need to be filled when you replace the carrier. The power divider.... you'll put a couple squirts in and it'll be running out, but it has to be filled in there. Then the other plug on the side cover and the bottom plug on the housing, all need to be filled. Then if nothing leaks ?? a check in the plug in the housing will be it .

    Leaf springs are supposed to be able to slide over each other as they flex. Those springs and bushings are just worn out. Sounds like you don't have big enough tools to make that repair. R.E.D. is right

    You can actually see the bushing out of center in that one picture and the leafs are worn into one another. Time for some new springs and you'll need someone to either find you the heaviest to fit the chassis or add to it like someone already did. They're only rubber bushings and not very good at taking the pounding greaseable pins and bushings will .

    That's a twelve thousand pound axle and suspension someone seems to have added a extra leaf to. It'll sit up a little better, but everything was engineered for 12000 pounds. So it's bushings probably are shot from being overloaded.

    What he has is called a cobbled little taper leaf some brain surgeon thinks is better that way to put more weight on on his basic 12000 pound steer axle. Guys do it, it kinda works (I guess) Think on that model truck ? I'd take a look at the cab mounts , that'd explain a clunky noise by his feet.
