  1. IDK ??? I don't have to put much thought into a few old ten wheelers from NJ that were in pretty nice shape. Lots of those old big DMs and Autocars ? they weren't exactly a rarity , and some were pretty well preserved.
  2. All the work is done on top of the piston ( timing injection pressure , matching of turbo cam and fuel delivery ) and more important than any of it ? Someone figured out how to do it for a reasonable amount of money . Think many people realize one of those old constant torque Maxidynes were never anything bigger than what would be called an 11 liter today ?
  3. Years ago , an old fella by where I live had a truck similar to this . I was way to young to understand ( or appreciate ) what I was looking at. I'm amazed at how much has changed on trucks, and how much really hasn't.
  4. I can't believe how much the front springs look like something so much newer .
  5. It kinda looks like the same red as the tractor you drove ??
  6. That probably was a dump truck at one time.
  7. Timmy set you right up. 👍
  8. If the spring in it is that busted, it likely doesn't have much fight left in it. !!! but still gotta be careful !!!
  9. Now I feel like a pecker head (lol) Thanks for posting. It's an interesting truck, and I doubt it's only me who thinks that.
  10. This guy's a tease....he's making us wait way too long for more info and pictures of this truck
  11. vent line is all
  12. They'd make it much easier to get the weight on the steering axle if used in dump application.
  13. Congratulations , you scored a nice Superliner there.
  14. Something's fishy about that truck. Title says it's 2 axle . It really doesn't look to be in the worst of shape ??? Maybe it was a glider
  15. The truck's power divider could just be worn ?? I think on older Mack rears only the 200 series could be made with a cam and wedge type locker (like the power divider) in the center section.
  16. Wouldn't a 700 series have a Detroit or Cummins in it ? whatever it is . it does seem to have a transmission in it.
  17. 2 reasons ?? You're a Patriots fan....and you must like blue
  18. Maybe it's carpal tunnel ?
  19. That air cleaner in '73 ? Can't see anything bigger than a 237 in there. I don't think any were made with any transmission that would use that range valve 🤷🏻‍♂️
  20. Waste Management uses capped 315s on drives. I've seen lots of roll offs and packers from The City like that too.
  21. 315s on drives aren't unheard of in the waste industry.
  22. There's a shifter in it with a range valve . Little odd in a truck that vintage with that air cleaner
  23. You need a divisable load permit. Without that you'll be whatever you can bridge. 53000 ? you probably have a truck with a setback axle and 17 and a half foot body. Most of those are around a 232 or 237
  24. You need a 268" wheelbase to get a decent permit on a tri-axle
  25. "looks nice" ???? it looks like someone who has no welder or access to one (lol) let alone it's a different size rail . I'm pretty sure no one in their right mind would put an inspection sticker on that.
