  1. It used to be a comical thing seeing a regular four and a quarter Cat try'n to shake a good run'n 350.
  2. I have them. Are you sure a fuse isn't blown or something simple ? Engine harness plug down by fuel filters was a popular trouble spot. Was the VECM changed ? Look for the easy (cheap) stuff first. Like I said, engine harness plug is a good starting point, but it's not easy to see or spot a broken wire.
  3. This old B Model is an attention getter (lol) I still wonder if it actually has a Quadraplex in it. In an earlier post the new owner mentioned something about using a pry bar of some sort to cure being stuck in gear ??? I don't see how you could do this with any Quadraplex. An old 300 and 5 speed back around 1980 ??? wouldn't have been very difficult to find a donor like an F Model or even single axle R back then. I also wonder if after sitting and not having any filtration on the tip fan , if it even still spins....let alone if the intercooler is plugged up with dust. I'd think in this day and age someone like K & N makes something that would easily work for a tip fan. That truck also has hydraulic power assist steering. I thought it was air until seeing the later pictures..... somebody loved that little girl
  4. Swishy is correct. Some , depending on manufacturer of clutch the grease fitting is hiding out of sight behind the release yolk until you push the clutch in.
  5. That's a cool old B Model, does that have a Mack transmission in it ??? Quadraplex was kinda fragile with a 300. I ask cause you mentioned crawling underneath it when it was stuck in gear ? If it's a Mack 5 and a 4 way behind that then that's a little more durable with the 300. That old girl has air assist steering too I see.
  6. Also, I'd imagine a fan on that no matter what type can draw 50+ HP if it's full on.
  7. Fan is stuck on ???? Air clutch ? I've found when a fan stays on and the engine doesn't run at the right temperature it never gets all the condensation out of the EGR cooler.....which makes it try to open the EGR valve more (and bleed off manifold pressure) Temperature is critical to everything working and if it's too cool it won't really think it has anything wrong with it. (no codes) If it is an air fan clutch ?? often the out of tank regulator (cut off) can be malfunctioning ....again, no codes.
  8. That thing is shot. Something went through it that wasn't supposed to (dirt...filings ???) wrist pins are going to be just as worn too .
  9. (lol) I think it's actually a boost leak that makes the tip fan work. well kinda anyway
  10. IDK if that Superliner has a V8 or not.....but if it did, I'd enjoy smoking a new X15 or or some 6NZ
  11. Wasn't there a post on here a little while back about identifying a mixer from a small picture ? Think he could find his answer here .
  12. I believe that's an F model grill someone put on an R model.
  13. Might be the crankcase pressure sending unit.
  14. "slugs " that's a good one (lol) An E9 that ran like it was supposed to ????
  15. I feel a little bad for the guy wondering what that sound is (lol)
  16. I've had 20000 pound axles break like that. I'm convinced someone never had the correct height in the first place. Lots of geometry in the mounting. Just an FYI. Small bags like those on a 13000 pound axles...less volume . Hence the @ 60 psi only yields 7K. Where a bigger volume bag 60 psi might be closer to 20 K
  17. Ever think about smaller tires ?
