  1. That's a whole different animal. There's no replacement for displacement. If you want big block power, get a big block.
  2. My old school 427 will consistantly pull 32lbs and has hit 35 on a few occassions (cool mornings). 30 for your 460 sounds lean.
  3. Ahh...your exhaust is attached to the cab ain't it. My brother with his Peterbilt has the exhaust hanging off the cab and always complains about how flex pipe doesn't flex enough to allow the air ride on the cab to work...then he gets in mine and says it's like driving a big 'ol Oldsmobile with bad shocks.
  4. Not to sound like a richard head, but what's different about it? It's the same cab...goes the set forward axle make that much of a difference in ride quality?
  5. I bet you're losing boost somewhere...either the rubber boots between the turbo, aftercooler and intake manifold...OR the air compressor air intake line that runs from the back of the intake manifold to the compressor. I had that problem with mine, where it goes around the back of the motor it wore a dime sized hole into the pipe...
  6. Jeezus...did you end up with any bullet holes anywhere? That is THE LAST place I'd want to be broke down. Back a few years ago I was pulling a pneumatic tanker up to Chicago then bouncing down the skyway to whatever steel mill is over there at the top end of Cline Ave...sometimes when I-80 was jammed up I'd take (shit, forgot the road number) across from IN-312 over to I-57 in Dolton....couldn't drive fast enough.
  7. Tell you what, that plastic/teflon disc doo-dad is probably the next best thing since sliced bread. MUCH less mess and makes for less dropping and hooking. My engine oil, I change every 10k and get it analized every other. So far, so good.
  8. I replaced one on my truck a year or so ago and it was about $150. Three bolts and an air fitting was all it took. I think the main thing is if you pull a dump trailer or do anything where the weight is removed rather quickly, is to dump the air out of the suspension before you unload to keep from over-extending the bags and shocks. I don't think there's any method to 'maintaining' them. If you have a day cab, look out your back window as you're driving down the road and watch the beating the suspension takes. I think it's amazing things last as long as they do.
  9. I was going to drop them off and then you can slide under the trailer and do with them as you see fit...
  10. It's been my experience with my truck, all Mack components, that the transmission and rears are louder than other brands...Eaton and so forth. Maybe I'm wrong or something is wrong with mine.
  11. Too many baked beans...
  12. I'm scarefraid I'd spontaneously combust if I got anywhere near a church...
  13. When I had that problem the head gasket on the air compressor was bad, sending compressed air into the coolant system causing all sorts of coolant push problems...ended up with air bubbles in the coolant system, sometimes getting 'stuck' wherever the temp is read causing the gauge to spike and to shut the motor down. Before you tear the lids off the motor, try bypassing the coolant lines to the compressor.
  14. There are kids on here you know...
  15. Maybe they had some 'outies' for the guys who didn't like the 'innies'...
  16. Haha...I don't have any pictures to brag... But you should swap me trucks and you hop in my 186"wb daycab + 23' trailer and I'll hop in yours...see who crashes first!
  17. Anyone notice the name on the door of that truck...?? "Hazard" Appears to be one in that case.
  18. It's because the guys with the bunks just go forward all day...the guys with the daycabs spend a good portion of their day going backwards...
  19. Don't know how close to you this is, but if you fish at all you can go fishin for sharks now... http://www.disclosurenewsonline.com/?p=3157
  20. Now it's 867.530ni-eeeeeeee-ine
