  1. I've hauled to that wind farm a few times this year...pretty much blows ass. I heard (you know how this goes) that earlier this week there were 170 trucks on that job (I don't doubt that though), the union heads were out there and that ICE was checking on the aliens. There's a pretty large Mexican crowd there and none of them se habla ingles making it difficult to tell them where to go or what to do...not to mention they drive like idiots and drive junk. The nuke plant is south of Senica...the lake you're talking about is LaSalle Lake. I think it's pretty neat how they turned some flat farm land into a giant pond.
  2. I see your trucks all the time...I wave thinkin its you but I'm guessin you've got more than a couple trucks...
  3. N. IL Mack is in LaSalle, exit 77 west of the Flying J about a block. I get to Morris often enough, either for work or my in-laws.
  4. Call parts guy Phil at Northern IL Mack, tell 'em you know me. I'd check on one for you but I don't know what exactly you need. Make sure it's Phil though, the other guy is a dillhole. When I originally priced a CAC he told me $890, Phil got it to me for $640.
  5. ...'a couple weeks ago, I had to haul a load of giant grenades...'
  6. Just an update...I put a new charge air cooler on and related 'boots' on the piping. Runs like a raped ape now, pyro temps down under 900 on a long pull-for what we have here in flatland IL anyway and 32+ lbs of boost (hit about 34 this a.m. a couple times). Got to lookin at the cooler and saw a couple small cracks in the one corner, took it off and checked it and pissed air all over. I put a shiny new aluminum one on and we're off to the races. $688 for cooler and hoses, I think that sounds fair...? But I digress...since I've had it it's ran at or lower than maybe 80% power, I 'spose now it'll blow up in two weeks.
  7. The Love's in Utica/LaSalle is about 10 miles east of me...exit 81 on 80, I'm right off of exit 70.
  8. They do the same here in IL. One of these days I'm going to have to either get an I-phone or a digital camera to keep with me in the truck...
  9. If you're in Illinois, the pavement pounds you.
  10. I wouldn't worry much about that. Just post whore your way to 'Pedigreed Bulldog' status like some of us have...
  11. Wha...?
  12. Yea I worked for a guy who wanted me to change out the pancake within the chamber to save a few bucks. I told him to get phucked and if you want to do that you can handle it yourself.
  13. I vote for the yellow one.
  14. Wonder if that would've been on your GPS....."re-calculating, re-calculating, re-calculating...make next legal u-turn..."
  15. If you've got a maxi brake leaking and can determine which one it is, you can cage (or back off the slack adjuster a bunch) the one and pinch off the line going to the chamber to prevent leakage and still have brakes to the rest of the truck. If you're having trouble building air after that, use a mobile compressor to charge the air system on the truck to limp home. I had to do that when the accessory drive shaft broke on my truck, rendering the air compressor useless...if you've got a jake brake and/or not many stops it helps quite a bit.
  16. Better as a signature photo perhaps?
  17. test
  18. Now if I could figure out how to shrink down the picture to put it up as the avatar I'd be in binness...
  19. So long as you get 'BIG SHOT' on your license plate...
  20. The rip-off is the small pieces of the flexible radiator hose...I put all new ones on when I put the new radiator in. The radiator is a relatively easy install...though a short skinny white guy like myself had a bit of a hard time lifting it out/in.
  21. That's just f*^(&ng sweet.
  22. Ahh...no way! I used to live out in Pinetop-Lakeside, AZ and drove that way to Phoenix all the time. I couldn't imagine driving that in a loaded truck! In highschool, we used to go jump off cliffs into the river a couple miles upstream of the bridge over the Salt River. You wouldn't believe all the vehicles at the bottoms of the cliffs.
