  1. So one asshole can stare at another.
  2. I could swear that part was paid for with a $20 bill. To make you feel better (maybe) the previous owner of my truck spliced and patched wiring with two of the same color wires in places. Try fixing that anytime quick.
  3. Put it up in the high side and goose it! Then you'll REALLY get the flock outta the way....and look like a snake on time lapse video! I feel for ya...I have the 18sp with the SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW reverse...splitting it up doesn't do much. I either just wind the piss out of the motor and get there eventually or I put in the high side and go back'erds. My trans in high reverse at idle is about the same speed as a regular reverse at full throttle...if that makes any sense. There have been times where I've had to back up over a mile and it's nice in this respect because others who try the high side backwards either can't or they bounce the shit out of their trucks trying to get it rolling only to quit because they can't keep it going straight.
  4. They're 6 feet tall...which is pretty close to a standard muffler with a 2 foot turnout on it. I have to drive underneath asphalt plants all the time so height was a concern, otherwise I might've gone taller. The heat shields on them are my brothers from when he took the pipes off his truck...I'm not sure if he wants to get rid of them or not. I was asking $450 for them both...they're reduced to 5" at the bottom and the mounting clamps are Kenworth style I believe, but if you bolt/weld some angle iron onto the exhaust mount of the truck it works well.
  5. That buzzer being on all the time made me want to take a BFH to the dash when that sensor was bad on mine...glad I got it fixed before I acted on that tho...
  6. Building windmills...? I was watching 'dangerous drives' on speed channel the other day and they had windmill parts haulers on there...the tubes and blades. Kinda neat, the tubes come from the Pacific northwest, the motor and blades come from Houston.
  7. Go to Mack and price a new knob... After you pick up your jaw...you'll soon realize it'll be better money spent getting your old knob polished a few times... If that's all that seperates a 13sp from an 18sp...why even bother with making a 13sp to begin with?
  8. Haven't seen him or Rowdy Rebel either. Maybe since they're in the same area Rowdy is offering truck driving school to Double L on the cheap.
  9. I had straight pipes on my CH for a while...and it was LOUD!! That being said however, I think a Mack with straight pipes is undoubtedly the best sound compared to the rest. If you're looking for a set of 6" straights...curved turnout at the top (not the bullhauler style) and 6' tall, lemme know. They're listed in the 'for sale' section of this forum, but quite a ways back.
  10. The trucks with 22.5 talls and 3:90 gears probably won't be any different than the 3:73 and low-pro 22.5's going down the road...far as speed/rpm's go. The 10sp will be about 100lbs lighter. Personally I'd go with the most gears and power. lol
  11. Pretty sad really when laws dictate what YOU buy. Though, there's another guy on here who had to have a newer truck because his broker, shipper or what have you said they didn't want old trucks haulin their freight.
  12. Nicely done.
  13. Is that at 12:55 am finishing your night or 12:55 pm starting your night?
  14. Just stirring the shit. One too many turbos on the motor in that truck.
  15. Had to throw that in there for the anti-Pete segment of the crowd... Coincidentally my name is Pete.
  16. My brother and also my F-I-L like the Old Style... The Heini and Rolling Rock are good too. I can't drink anything that tastes really good, then I have no fear...
  17. Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown in the economy, Congress has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 50 years of age and above on early retirement, thus creating jobs and reducing unemployment. This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early). Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to Congress to be considered for the SHAFT program (Special Help After Forced Termination). Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (System Covering Retired-Early Workers). A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as Congress deems appropriate. Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependants & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance). Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by Congress. Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much poop (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. Congress has always prided themselves on the amount of poop they give our citizens. Should you feel that you do not receive enough poop, please bring this to the attention of your Congressman, who has been trained to give you all the poop you can handle. Sincerely, The Committee for Economic Value of Individual Lives (E.V.I.L.) PS - - Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, the Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.
  18. Bud Light for my household...followed closely by Coors Light. The 'heavy' beer I just can't get into. Miller has a pretty strong foothold in my area and every event such as a beer garden or anything else where there's a beer trailer seems to be Miller products. A few years ago my cousin married into the family who owned the Miller distributorship and their wedding was allllllllll Miller...family wedding pictures in front of the Miller semi-truck and everything... Me, my brothers and our dates, my dad and my aunt brought Bud and Bud Light to the reception just to be richard heads.
  19. Gotta somehow convince the dealer near me to hire you out of where you work. lol Guys here either act like they don't know shit or really don't...service manager is a tool-something that I think is more detrimental to a shop than anything. The good ones seem to get run out for some reason.
  20. Truckersreport.com...Scroll down to 'the garage'. They're all hardcore Paccar/Cat on that site, though very knowledgable people.
  21. Lol... I wonder...on a Cat 'bridge' motor you can swap ECM's and maybe a turbo with an older version and bypass/whatever the emissions crap. Is that possible with an ASET motor and an ETECH? Swap turbo's, plug off the EGR and reprogram/swap the ECM and get similar results? I suppose if a guy had a laptop with unlimited access to ECM's he could do anything.
  22. Ahh...here we go... http://www.truckertotrucker.com/listings/88687.cfm
  23. Is there another avenue besides Truck Paper and Truckpaper.com to look for trucks?
  24. Is the Vision radiator that much smaller than the CH or is it more the design of the hood that isn't conducive to carrying the heat away...? I'd still like to find a '98-'02 E-Tech motor for my 97 CH...I don't know if I'm that brave though.
  25. I just had to laugh is all. Couldn't cut a deal. What I half-ass offered before was still more than for what they currently have it listed.
