A buddy of my dad's is an over-the-road O/O flatbed guy...said within the last month seems like someone opened the floodgates with freight. He was almost complaining there was so much work. Feast or famine I guess.

My bad, I guess I didn't pick up on your problem being the fan. I always thought that whenever something was wrong with the fan it would end up being stuck on. It not engaging...not good.

Maybe the low coolant sensor is bad in the recovery tank. Had that problem with mine...it would come on in-frequently and show engine shutdown/electronic malfunction lights, then ended up with it coming on every time I started the truck and eventually went off after it ran for a while. The sensor is about $12 and took 5 seconds to change.

It was late last spring/early summer when I had that drive shaft out...never fails, it was on the hottest couple days of the year. I'm a short skinny white guy, I can sit on the floor and be able to work up in there with not much room...life is grand...

Hey thanks! That almost sounds too simple though. lol Any special torque ratings on the bolts..?? I had the small drive shaft off in the spring of '09, due to a failed u-joint. I should've just replaced it then, dammit...but I didn't because "it wasn't THAT bad"...I told myself...

I've got a pinion seal leaking on the front rear-end rear output shaft...what's all involved with changing that?

I haven't heard if anyone is or not. The other two guys who do it are alright. It's one thing to do your job well, but it's another to be a first class prick while doing your job...this guy was just a straight up dickhead. Too many cops with a chip on their shoulder for some reason.

Last time I was in the DMV I think was to renew the tags on my pickup...anyway there were 3 guys taking the road part of the test for a local truck driving school...2 failed, didn't even leave the lot...the other BARELY passed. The lady administering the tests looked like she'd had enough. Long story short...she told me their rate of 'graduating' is about the same as the national divorce rate...50%

The trucks with Allison transmissions are fly by wire. The rest of the GM fleet, I don't know for sure. Oh yea, when I had that Grand Prix GXP it was by wire too.....that car was FUN...
