  1. I learned with a lawn mower and a trailer...graduated to a tractor and whatever was behind it. The best is when you're backing up something with 4 wheels with a steerable tongue/front wheels. Rowdy...my truck is 187" wheelbase. Works quite nicely for what I do.
  2. I've got 703,000 miles on mine...20 lbs at idle, 60 at 1400rpm. Oil temp has crept above 200 a few times in the summer...but it hasn't gotten anywhere near the redline, so I guess I don't worry.
  3. Dammit that's funny! Go for a ride with me sometime Double L... there are times where I've had to go backwards over a mile. High range in reverse with a 23 foot trailer down a curvy road. Those guys with 40+ foot trailers ain't got nothin.
  4. The bounce seems to be coming from the right rear area of the truck. I'll watch the air suspension load gauge and the needle bounces up and down with the bounce I get. Spring '09 I put all new shoes, drums, wheel seals, s-cams, slack adjusters and chambers...and swapped out the 6 outside aluminum wheels for different (shiny!) alum. wheels. Didn't affect the wobble any. So maybe fjh is on to something with the hub.
  5. Good luck chasing down that wobble. I've been trying for about 2 years now with mine, but to no avail. So far...new front springs/shackles, new steers twice, new drives, shocks all around, tie rod ends, 3-axle alignment, centri-matic balancers (waste of money)...other things I'm sure I forgot. Next up is going to be king pins and steel wheels for the inside wheels on the drives.
  6. Damn...only the second time I've seen a truck that vintage with a factory tach!! We used to have a 76 Chevy dually flatbed like that too...but with no factory tach and a TH400 auto. That truck was a badass tank...we just called it "the flatbed" tho...
  7. Super! Post 69 for the day...I'm good. I'm off to have carnal relations with the lady. Night.
  8. lol
  9. It would be neat, I think. I doubt we'll see such vast changes like that generation did...technology, political and social. If anything I bet we see some regression more than anything else...un-clogging our lives I guess you'd say.
  10. Freightliners are ugly as shit...call me a superficial bitch but I like a good lookin truck.
  11. I've pulled out enough hair workin on my Mack over the past 3 years or so... I took the clippers to my hair a week or so ago... It might be a quarter inch long nowadays. I bought 'em for my son, gave him his first couple haircuts and turned 'em on myself.
  12. Most of my relatives stepped off the boat and right into the coal mines around here. When the mines dried up they tried their luck at farming. Somewhere I f*&*(d up and bought a truck.
  13. Just couldn't let me have my 15 minutes could you...
  14. My job is done.
  15. Sweet...I overtook Double L for today.
  16. Better than a camel-toe though...
  17. But right now I'm watching the Ravens get their asses handed to them by the Colts.
  18. I hope not the south siiiiiiiiiiiiideeeeeeeee. The rebel flag and guns prolly didn't fly too well there.
  19. B-day party for my grandma tomorrow...she turns 93. Can't hardly see anymore, but she's still doin good.
  20. Bah...90 more for me
  21. If it weren't for the 'roid era it might be a whole different story. Unfortunately there are far too many fair weather Cub fans though. I like to stay with it, mainly because baseball is/was the only sport I could play. I'da figured all you southerners would be Cards fans... What do Cardinals fans and gay people have in common? They both like Pujols...
  22. And a die-hard Cubs fan.
  23. 2 speed rear-ends.
  24. I know I'm gonna get hated on, but I don't like NASCAR...
