  1. Well...I'm 29, so what's that make me?
  2. Son of a bitch!! Ah ha, but wait...typically those on medicare start at 65. So then it's 18-65. That'll work.
  3. Mine doesn't have the oil smoke out of the exhaust...guess that's why I'm not too alarmed.
  4. I scored a 34...2 under Par. 7 mistresses silenced 2 mistresses blabbing
  5. So is there a fee similar to the "un-insured motorist" fee you pay on your auto insurance? I agree with you on the whole concept you're talking about. But until we get people in office who actually have to buy their own insurance and go through the whole rigamerole we'll keep getting socked with more un-funded mandates. It's sometimes unfortunate that when the Constitution was written, it included individual rights and whatnot for states. In some cases it's good, others bad. Illinois does a good job at slingin the bullshit. Maybe if the only people allowed to vote were people 18-49 years old, employed, not on any kind of government assistance, legal citizens and fans of the pre-steroid era of baseball we'd get something done.
  6. One of the resident Mack techs...fjh or mackpro98 said something to that effect. The bolts go into or through where oil passes and it just seeps past the bolt(s) and out. It makes sense, in my case anyway. There's just oil all around the exhaust manifold. What you're going through might be totally different. On mine, its the worst around the #1 and #6. If I get ambitious tomorrow, I'll take some pictures.
  7. One of my dad's buddies had floats on the front of his tandem dump truck...blew the driver side tire going down the interstate...crossed the median, opposing lanes of traffic (through the air) and landed on the other side, truck rolled a time or two. Luckily he came out with hardly a scratch. He said it renewed his faith in the motoring public. 5 or 6 people stopped right away and within a half minute had him out of the truck.
  8. I'm going to stick my neck out and say maybe you outta look for a cherry 00-'02, whatever brand you prefer. They're out there, score one that's been overhauled and drop the hammer.
  9. I've got that problem...oil all around the exhaust manifold. Sometimes on a pretty hard pull when everything gets good and hot I'll smell oil burning. Someone on here said oil leaks out around the manifold studs and the only way to remedy it is taking them all out, putting new ones in with some sort of thread lock/silicone. Frankly, it's more than I care to do as it MIGHT run through a gallon and a half per 10,000 miles (oil change interval for me)...I can tolerate that. My truck does a fair amount of idling too, though I bump the idle up to 1000rpm. I still think I need new/reman heads...maybe a turbo and aftercooler...but if I'm going to take the lid off, might as well do it over top to bottom. Just my own opinion anyway.
  10. I'm sure it'll be hard to do, but find out what the previous owner did with it. You say you pull a flatbed across the plains where it's generally flat and you got around 8 with your old/current truck. That truck you're looking at is from Virginia, nothin but hills out thataway.
  11. Well...I've never had any trouble I guess. I do buy all 8 at the same time and 'rotating' them front to back, back to front gets them worn evenly and enough so that I can put 8 new tires on at once...though I don't like the bill for that.
  12. Haha...I think with bigger tires it'll mean you're farther from the ground when the tire blows from hitting the pot holes. That road is in sick shape from about Mendota north. They asphalted a 5 mile section south of Minonk a couple years ago...why, I don't know. Seems like they used a few different recipies for concrete when it was built...some sections are good, others are horse shit.
  13. I'm thinkin that might've happened. Storkmack...I've been seeing your trucks all over lately. Hopper trailers, flatbeds, dump buckets haulin salt. I made a few trips up to the top of I-39 from 80 lately...man, that road is goin to shit. Which reminds me, I need to go online and pay my 'missed' tolls... 'I swear it said I-Pass, so I passed'
  14. In the picture for this truck it looks like it's got 22.5's.
  15. Where's a guy get those bullet cab marker lights?
  16. On the shifter...a red button is 13sp, gray button is 18sp. I think it's the same no matter what brand of transmission. With the Mack trans the button flips up/down, Eaton it flips forward/backward....if that makes any sense. Pretty sweet lookin ride, by the way.
  17. Click on the ad so its in front of you on the screen. Where you type in the www.whateverblabla....right click so it's all highlighted blue, then right click again and scroll down to and click on 'copy'. Next, go to where you type in your post on here, right click again and click on 'paste'. Make sure you don't type anything before or after it or it won't work.
  18. I'm gonna have to print this out. I would just swap the back drives to the front and vice versa. How much difference does it make, if any, if I always buy 8 new matched drives instead of having mis-matched tires?
  19. I don't think you can have too many gears though... Swap the 22.5's for some 24.5 talls and call it a deal. Maybe clue us in on your driving habits, how concerned you are with weight and overall what you expect out of the truck...besides for it to RUN!
  20. Indeed. I need to get fjh and mackpro transferred to the dealer near me. They can fistfight over the service manager's job.
  21. Where's the pictures...??! I think if you have 22.5 tires with that gear ratio it might be a little slow if you run out west...depending on what the cruise rpm for that motor is and how fast you like to go. I've got 22.5's with 3.86 rears and an 18sp...1600rpm @ 72mph. Normally, I don't like to run much over 65, but I don't do much highway driving really.
  22. I dont' care who you are, that's funny right there.
  23. I'm lazy, I'll admit it. We both have 4x4 vehicles but I'll still go and get the backhoe to do our (maybe) 30x40' driveway instead of shovel it. The kids get a kick out of it and I can pile the snow up for 'em.
  24. More like one mayoral dynasty...emphasis on oral. I don't own any guns nor do I even have a FOID card. Some day when I get around to it, I will. I would like to have a handgun under my mattress and maybe one in place of the seatbelt hook on the right side of the seat....but I digress, I'll make due with my trusty Easton aluminum bat from highschool at home and a BFH under the seat of the truck.
