  1. No, it's going to my kids!!
  2. Ahh...so AI and AC are versions of the ASET. Gotcha. From the sounds of it, there's no hung jury on this topic.
  3. Damn...around here tandem axle dump trucks are getting low-mid $60's. I know I haven't been an O/O for very long (3 yrs) and have no room to bitch, but around here since the steel market went soft and the steel mill shut down...a lot of the steel haulers bought wet kits and certain brokers took them on, gave them rented dump trailers and turned 'em loose. Guys had no clue on anything, trying to drive 270" wheelbase trucks where I can barely get mine with 187"....market saturation=less $$. I kinda hope that all this downtrodden economy culls the herd some...
  4. What's the difference between the ASET, AC and AI engines...? They want 37,500 for this '04 with 465k/mi. Same dealer group, but it's at a different location from the salesman that I talk to. He thinks it's out of their lease fleet...rental truck...think "days of thunder"...but hopefully up on maintenence. Problem is where I am now, major money I put in the truck isn't going to make it worth any more. I can't/don't want to afford anything newer than that and it's pretty impossible to find a Mack spec'd like this one and the one I have now...and be turnkey. Maybe I'll look for a...Peterbilt!
  5. I'd go with the traditional big red barn with white doors...just to stand out like a sore thumb. From the looks of it, either you have a big sump pump or no basement. I don't know if I could handle living that close to train tracks though...looks like they might be the busy kind...I'd prolly have more flatened coins than useable ones. Yes, at 29, I still do that.
  6. Maybe out of spite I'd loosen the drain plug, run the oil out and hold the gas pedal to the floor...and say f&*k you!
  7. But I think if you take into consideration all the old R-models exported from the U.S. down to South America, I'd say Mack wins.
  8. Mack dealer nearby has a 2004 Vision for sale...460hp, dual pipes, wet kit, 13sp...spec'd out to what I need and want. I've seen various posts/topics on the post '03 trucks, but most have been bad (maybe I should take the hint?). I was just wondering the good, the bad and the ugly about the 2004's.
  9. My brother and I park our trucks in an old Kwanzut (not sure on spelling, they're the half round kind) shed...mainly because it's too old/small/outdated to park any of our farm machinery in. It works fairly well though, 12x12 door and 60ft long I can get my truck w/long dump hooked to it in all the way. I re-wired it last spring and quadrupled the lighting and outlets. When my wildest dreams come true, the shed will be torn down for my 100x80 shed with everything for everything complete with a hot floor. We burnt down the house that was out at that farm this past august. Someday I'd like to build out there, but that's a whole 'nother story...the local and surrounding fire depts did a practice burn and I had the chief talked into letting me suit up and go into the fire but the head training guy nixed the idea...some pix of the fire...
  10. Ahh...how I wish I had the funds and space to build a shop. Heated floor would be a must so I can crawl underneath my truck in my skivvies if I wanted to on a cold winter's night.
  11. Recycle, reduce and re-use...I remember there was a video too. I recycle when I can. I even bought my own can and empty it once a week across town in the recycling dumpster since my town isn't big enough to have it picked up curbside. There's really no excuse to not do it. Although according to that, I must lean to the left because I support un-married sex 100%.
  12. Wait...I thought you were your own boss...?? lol
  13. I would definately rig up some sort of driving lights via a seperate switch/power source. The more light the better in my opinion. I have a problem with the instrument panel lights. The lights for the switches and whatnot work, but not the gauges sometimes. If I take the panel out and jiggle the wires they'll light up. Sometimes they'll work as they should. Kind of a crap shoot at times with my 'old' truck. But seeing that one guy advertising his 97 for $29,500 gives me hope!
  14. Too bad people didn't pummel him with snowballs. Deadbeat wannabe Billy Badass cops. How far south in IL are you guys..?? I always hate looking in the paper and at times your high temps are 30+ degrees warmer than ours.
  15. Wassamatta..?? Just talk to Rob, from the sounds of it he knows how to deal with an unruley neighbor.
  16. That's not very nice.
  17. LOL....that's friggin awesome! Interesting use for a hoe...
  18. December '08 was pure crap around here. "Unfortunately" I was in Florida for 8 days then...darnit. I missed the worst of it while relaxing poolside, beer in hand and enjoying the 85 degrees and sun. The best part was coming home and it being 5 below zero and knee deep snow.
  19. Watching grass grow beats most TV...
  20. What is this "facebook" and "twitter" you speak of...? ...I hope I'm not the only person on the planet without a myspace, twitter or facebook account.
  21. I thought all you 'southerners' way down in IL only got the occassional ice storm...? My brother and I were driving down to central Kentucky to get his truck in early spring '08 right after a pretty good ice storm...I couldn't believe how many trucks were strewn about...twisted up like pretzels.
  22. Ahh...but it is the politicians who pander to these voters is what makes my skin crawl.
  23. I just chuckle in amusement when they say "police issued a citation for improper lane use...bla bla" when the vehicle in question is pictured rolled over in the lane.
  24. It was (and still is) allllllllllllll about the minority card.
  25. So...how do you suppose he was improperly using the lane...?
