  1. This one might be too...
  2. Yikes...I don't think I want to know what the "T/A" stands for...
  3. Where's the yellow snow?!
  4. Kankles are sexy too...
  5. I didn't see any inside furniture outside in the lawn! How far are you from Cairo, IL? For whatever reason, I've always wanted to get down that way, to the way southern tip of IL.
  6. That's a pretty righteous pile of food there. I'm thinkin even the dog's mouth isn't big enough for that big ass burger. Now I'm hungry...
  7. So what do they show at "Show Me's" ?
  8. Glad I wasn't the only one...
  9. The assbag "police quief" (this guy was a real phucker) of LeRoy gave me and a co-worker a disobeying a traffic control device ticket for making a left turn on a no left turn for trucks sign because we were lost (and hungry)...turning around via a McDonalds parking lot. A couple years later, on the way home from the indoor tractor pull at Gordyville, I stopped at the Shell in LeRoy to gas up...15 minutes later, going from I-74/55 to 39, my pickup died on me...fuel pump quit and I went home on the hook.
  10. Were those pictures taken near LeRoy on either I-74 or U.S. 150? I don't like that f*&^%$g town...
  11. It helps by watching the tach, but that ends up being a distraction... Once you figure out how to 'listen' to the truck, you'll get it.
  12. No matter the make of whatever dump truck (tandem) you get, make sure it's not air-ride!!
  13. Don't worry, I'm right near (or pert-near as you real downstaters say) the intersection of I-80 and I-39 and we get referred to as being "down state".
  14. You can do mine next! I think I trashed the speakers when I had the straight pipes on for those couple weeks trying to listen to music with the windows down...
  15. Haha...I resemble that remark! ...from a Dego who thinks...next time I get my hands on an endloader, I know what I'm gonna try!
  16. I don't have any of that. Just like the other guy mentioned. I've tried pumping the primer and I'll get maybe 3 pumps of fuel, then 10 or so of air, then fuel and I'll pump it for a while and it still sputters. I don't get the 1000 rpm smoke show off the get-go that I used to either.
  17. I'm having the same problem w/my truck too...97 w/the electronic Bosch pump. It'll crank for 10 seconds then spit and sputter for another 15 seconds then take off. Before you'd have to just BARELY touch the starter and it's goin.
  18. I stumbled upon a 2000 CH613 with a 460 and 13/sp for sale...with only 242,000 miles on it for $35,000. I looked at it and drove it around the block. Seems to run pretty strong, night and day difference in how snappy it is versus my 97 427. It seems to look good, nothing really jumps out at me. Good clean tight truck...hell, it's hardly broken in. I was just wondering what to look for in that particular series of trucks, what goes wrong and what not. I'm aware the camshaft problems the 98-00's+ trucks had. The guy says it hasn't been replaced, only an injector.
  19. Unfortunately there aren't many options for a CB mount on a 97 CH. I'm pretty sure it's the computer and/or whatever clicks when the key is turned on producing the noise, because it's the same with the engine running as it is when the key is just on the 'on' position..motor off.
  20. I've got the co-phase (dual) coax. The noise isn't engine noise, alternator or anything like that. It's just the constant static...similar to when you'd turn your tv to an unused channel and it was just 'snow'. I can have the key on accessory and there's nothing. When I either start the truck or just turn the key to 'run', the static starts. I'm thinking when the main breaker/relay associated with the key being on on, it starts. It's the same with the key on as it is with the engine running. It's hard to explain and I know CB's are a pain in the ass. The coax, radio (tuned/peaked) and antennas are all new. It pisses me off because I know the radio works awesome with the key on accessory.
  21. If the mirror bracket isn't grounded, how do I ground the antennas? Would a magnetic mount to the top of the cab work better? What's odd is that when I have the key on 'accessory' there's almost no static, but as soon as I turn it to on there's a ton of static.
  22. I've got a question about the 'static' in my cb radio. When the key is turned to 'on' and/or the engine is running, there's a ton of static coming through the CB to where I have to have the squelch cranked up pretty good. BUT, when the key is on the 'acc' position (turned back) there is hardly any static. Why is this? I've tried hooking the radio straight to the battery, both positive and ground and started the truck...the static prevails. Is the cab ground bad? Should I ground the radio straight to the frame?
  23. Haha. Might that fall under the "measure once, cut twice theory"..?
  24. The only thing I really have to worry about getting underneath is the asphalt plant (12ft) and the door on the shed I park in is 12ft also, so I knew it'd work. There aren't many low bridges that I know of in my area and I never run in Chicago with all their low underpasses. My brother drives a Pete, so that should explain it...
  25. I put mufflers back on my truck...I had to buy new ones (bashed the old ones up pretty good getting them off) and I couldn't get the original turnouts off. I used some my brother had on his truck for a friggin day then took off. I went from 2 feet to 3 feet.
