skip once the word got out that a few of my friends from over there were looking for a Valueliner for me Glen's name came up. He was reluctant to sell at first but then thought it would be great to know his big Mack was over here in the states taking it easy. I am telling him that he needs to make a trip over here and driver er to national show for me. Amazing that you live so close to him in that big country. Mack customer center is excited about having it put on display sometime too.

The 1990 V8 Mack engines shipped to Australia were EPA certified and California compliant. Mack Trucks sent me the paperwork to present to the EPA and customs. no problem.

No the one in Yakima was the 88. And yes Mike I did find something better.............that big Valueliner from Australia. I will probably end up keeping the 88 as I just have too much money into it and it is great running truck and fun to drive. The other truck I am really enjoying is that MH with a V8 that I picked up awhile back. I have cleaned it up, repainted it and at just over 200k original miles it is another sweet ride. The 85 Superliner has had a lot of work done to it and the engine runs strong. I just have too damn many other projects and limited storage space. When I got the two Superliners I was intending on using them both for pulling the drop decks for going to the truck shows. This would be easier on my old time helpers too. But my long time guys that help me are just getting too damn tired to go to shows and both are in their mid 70's.

I have an 85 and 88 both with V8's overall condition of the cabs is excellent with no rust and recent paint Both had modifications done to the engines and were used for pulling. The 88 max'd a dyno out at 1100HP. The work on injectors, pump, turbo, and heads was done by Trevitz. The 85 is a Superliner I with V8, Mack 10spd, Mack rears on air. A/C was just updated, new clutch, and driveline work. It has electric fans installed. I have a new radiator to install in it. Has a new front bumper. Interior is in fair original condition. The 88 is a Superliner II with V8, Mack 18spd, BL 4000lb clutch(with spare) Hendrickson air with Rockwell lockers. A/C and factory fan and shroud just added. Interior is in good original condition Wet Kit 541-944-3283

I remember your thread now about the Valuliner and in fact the very truck I purchased is one of your pictures shown. This model was conceived in Australia because of new regulations there at the time called B doubles. it needed the set back axle in order to meet the turning radius required. The word I get from everyone over there is with the long front springs it is the best riding Mack they had. The reason they also sit the truck cabs up so high on the road train models is to allow air to pass under as it gets incredibly hot out there.

Also note that the hood has the F model bar with the dog. It seems the Aussie assembly plant could do things to trucks that we would not see over here. The same goes for why it is still so solid as they add a lot of reinforcement to much of the trucks items that are not necessary here. I was thinking about the right hand drive and was curious if they also moved the clutch and fuel pedal? But they are in the same spot as here. A payload of 242,000lbs was a common thing for this rig. One difference over there than here is we have a lot more long pulls on hills than there.

It is now official that my 1990 valueliner is on the boat and headed to the USA. I really should not say mine but..........Glen's as This truck was bought brand new by a 21 yr old named Glen Menzies. He drove this truck for nearly 3 million miles! I wish I could scan the book he gave me full of pictures from the day he picked it up until it went on the boat. From what I can confirm this is the first Mack from Australia ever imported into the USA. The Australian Valueliner is totally different that the USA version. It was one of the most respected trucks that ever roamed the outback of the land down under. It is a favorite to this day and holds an incredible resale value because of this. My vote is for the LTL and then the Superliner.

Here is one of the 2 H models originally sold into Australia. Note it is a right hand drive. The paint job makes the front look different than the normal H.

If Tony had knew the history of the truck before he started on it I betcha he would have done it up in the Smith livery colors. He loves the history of the trucks he restores and shares it with everyone. Great guy!

only 2 H's made it into Australia as new trucks and one of them is the green H 67 in the above picture. note the words on the bumper about left hand drive. Must of changed the laws as today you cannot haul legally with left hand drive there..........so I am told.

I am quite sure it has the gas engine in it. Why would Mack put such a small engine in a truck when there was better options by then?

It's California and you can't use the lake water...........that is for fish only. Okay seriously, it is for the fresh water tanks on the houseboats that are rented out of there.

Here are 2 U models that still work hauling water to the Lake Shasta marina. They were part of a fleet of about 5 that ran I-5 for years hauling steel for Gerlinger. They have Mack rears on Reyco suspension which I have never seen before. also 9sp Fuller tranny and a Mack six.

When I saw it it had a V8 375 Mack in it.

The wheels appear to be the Alcoa anniversary 24.5's. Another Aussie Mack........ And my favorite Mack of all the Valueliner.

I have had the good fortune of meeting some really fine Australian truck guys and some are really die hard Mack.. Three came into Medford and drove trucks with me up to Yakima and then I met up with Tony and his group at the show. They came back with me and spent a few days in the area. Check out the wood work done on the interior of the B model.

I am looking for a new or good used front bumper. Mack no longer stocks the item. Thanks
