  1. Here is a KT that I sold a few years ago. Pulling the Siskyou Mtns with a full load it sounded like a freight train. Check out the huge mufflers on it. I was told that many a times when tilting the cab for service the front windshields would fall out!!! Ken Self former CEO of Freightliner told me that Zenon Hanson bought a new Freightliner and had his shop tear it down and instructed them to build a better lightweight COE than the Freightliner and the Cruiseliner is what they came up with.
  2. By 1958 the windows had to have been optional? My Dad's 57 H model had vents and all of the H's I have do too and they are 57 on too.
  3. Here ya go!! Gotta love them Aussies
  4. A few old maxidynes one is the "super cool 300".....
  5. what does it have for an engine and running gear?
  6. I will call bullshit on that. there is no way the facts support that half the Pete's are using the MX13!!! Nothing like a non union promise the moon operation like the Denton plant is. To think that Mack (okay for you Volvo) pays damn near twice in wage and benefits as Peterbilt does and is damn near keeping up with them in sales.
  7. That is a neat truck for sure! The sleeper is different than mine and it makes the 4th different style of sleeper I have seen on the W model. I was told that they left the factory with day cabs only and dealers arranged the sleeper additions and most were done at Able in Los Angeles? I saw one that appeard to be from the outside an integral factory sleeper.
  8. Seems a lot of creative art is added to Macks in other countries. This one is on a Superliner V8 in Australia and I like it! I have seen some great ones in Europe and the Carribean countries.
  9. Mike The Reasoner W miodel is in the big Mack collection in Australia now. I got a call from the PA guy last week about parts. That was his grandfather's truck if I remember right. I have a day cab no frame, and a few odds and ends. other than the front axle and spring hangers, a few front engine mmounts and cross member, tranny mounts, the frame is the same as an LTL 1/4" thick. The NM one you are referring to also has the big add on sleeper and ran through the 80's with big Cummins power. it was for sell. There was one as a wrecker years ago on the N Cal coast and one down in San Diego but i have not seen them in years. what happened to the one in New England that the museum had? Here is mine as it is now. I just put a fifth wheel on it this past summer. it had a long truck frame and i was hoping to find either a nice drom and trailer or period correct boxes with a pull trailer. But the years were going by and I like to drive it.
  10. quick look at the motor would be the twin intakes if a 711
  11. I toured the Pete factory in Denton this past fall and the Paccar engine is not selling well. About 9 out of 10 coming down the line had a Cummins in it. Also, they paint everything on the frame, air line, electrical, components including the airbags. I thought the attention to detail and finish product was below average. Pete and KW is just like Volvo and Mack. the new cab is for both trucks and most all frame components now say Paccar on them as they are shared by both trucks. They still make the Pete fuel tanks right on site though!! Here is a picture of my big Pete 390 with the Peterbilt model..........
  12. The Big DM with the lowboy, I purchased from Steve several years ago. It was an original Octavia?? NJ operation.......or something like that truck and was one of about 8 they had bought new.
  13. I have seen this truck hauling logs for years and now on CL http://roseburg.craigslist.org/cto/3615365796.html
  14. wasn't this model also offered with a V8 and had a sloped long hood?
  15. I finally got around to digging this out.H Model Air Ride.pdf
  16. In the 80's? I saw this truck and a black integral sleeper B model running south on I-5. They were going the opposite direction of me but the chatter I got was they belonged to Waylon.
  17. I have always thought that it was too bad that CAT didn't take over Mack.
  18. I knew a guy that had a FRACK.............put a V8 Mack in a Freightshaker!
  19. Good to see you responding. It seems it has been awhile?
  20. Both of the shops mentioned will do custom work and they have all the pipe sizes needed. Thanks to all for the help.
  21. As discussed before I am working on an R719 with the twin turbo 864. The piping out of the turbo is 31/2 inch. Then it bells out to 4 inch. Are there any sources out there to custom bend pipe and also would have the 90's and bells to buy new?
  22. Saw this old Superliner haul loads out of the new 49ers stadium today. It was a Hayward truck and never wandered far from home.
  23. he switched his cowboy hat to a sailors cap as he hangs out at the local dock and helps out.
  24. does anyone remember Tryon Trucking? My Dad was leased to them for years and was always getting load out of Newark.
