  1. The "leak rate" should be a few drops per minute if I remember correctly. Usually the real indicator that they need to be re-packed is that they fail a pump test. If it is holding a vacuum, assuming everything else is tight, I would maybe tighten up the ring a little and let it go.
  2. Seems to me that Dennis has some responsibility in this. Can he secure a NY title in his name? Just my $.02 but it seems that a truck without a title is worth less than one that is titled.
  3. And I was born and raised in MA; how's that for the pot calling the kettle black?
  4. I was wondering how a small state like RI supported all those crooked politicians that keep going to jail. Now I know. There is something deeply wrong with a policy that pre-supposes all citizens are liars and cheats; the law must be a mirror of those who wrote it.
  5. The other option would be to change the pump along with the transfer case. If the transfer case is not integral to the pump you may be able to just go with a different transfer case.
  6. Not to jinx you, but if you go to enough shows one eventually will or you will decide to do something to one of them to make it better. In my book two trucks are just the right number to own and show. You don't have so many that they lack love and you get the chance to vary the trucks you take to shows. Besides you will never recover what you have in them and like most of us you will regret selling one as soon as it leaves the driveway.
  7. One to work on, one to show. With any luck they are never broken at the same time.
  8. Just giving you a hard time. Pinstriped or not it is still a beautiful truck that shows the love and money you put into it. But you have to admit there is something special about the trucks from that region that sport hand lettering and fancy pin striping. It is what sets them apart from trucks from any other part of the country.
  9. You might also try D&D Truck Repair and Towing, Hagerstown, MD. Dave has converted a Type 75 and may have a transfer case. He also has several Mack fire trucks in his yard that are being parted out.
  10. Cal Little in PA; Pine Hill Restorations; He has slowed down a lot, but he had a pretty good selection of used Mack parts. 717-566-8973. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/MusicVid/partssupplierslisting.pdf
  11. Given to me at the ATHS show in York by a member who had fenders made for his AB; Metals Anytime; 814-280-0359
  12. I beg to differ. Tri-States, Shenandoah Valley are both in the area. IMO Richmond would be a huge success. Easy to get to, lots to see and do in the area, and a large population base to draw on. We need to start a campaign with ATHS.
  13. The Sharonville 75A came up for sale a couple of years ago, but they wanted silly money and I don't think it sold. It still had all of the airport stuff on it.
  14. Is that a current picture?
  15. First shot would be Cal Little. It shouldn't be hard to find another transfer case. Remember it was probably used in many trucks, not just Macks. Try advertising on SPAAMFAA's web site as well.
  16. It's a little late, but when you run across issues like the fenders put 'em on here. I have a card from a shop that made AB fenders for another restoration as well as all of the shop drawings of the fenders from the museum.
  17. You can leave the trailer at the show if you desire. Plenty of trailer parking and it will make finding a room much easier.
  18. Have a safe trip. Here is the real question; When is Keith going to talk the ATHS into holding the annual show at RIR? Great location, lots of local trucks, easy to get to, and lots of hotel rooms.
  19. I was thinking this one through while I cut grass yesterday; the big clue is that you used the other tank for the first time in a long while. ( I flunked Troubleshooting 101 on this one the first time) It is not coincidental that this resulted in fuel delivery problems IMO. I think you have two possible solutions to the issue; use the tank you always use from now on or remove and clean the other tank. In retrospect it is pretty obvious that the obstruction had to come from the normally unused tank.
  20. Very nice; your work inspires me to keep at it on my 25 AB. I see you were a Ford guy before you got better taste.
  21. Your best bet would be to send Doug Maney a PM or contact him through the ATCA web site. I don't think they are doing this anymore, but Trucktoberfest at the Museum and Customer Service Center in September would fill the bill nicely.
  22. No pin striping on a New England truck? Isn't that against several major religions practiced in that area?
  23. Looks great. Pin striping in the future?
  24. Don't waste your money on a new pump, put a fuel pressure regulator on it. Then you can dial in the proper pressure no matter what the pump delivers.
  25. Send me a PM; Open Office is a program that is basically a free version of Microsoft's Office. You can download it off of the internet and it will be able to use any documents that you created in an early version of Word and either offer you the opportunity to convert them and save them in a newer format or just be able to work with them and keep saving them in their current format. Here is a link to the download site: http://download.cnet.com/Apache-OpenOffice/3000-18483_4-10263109.html I'm not 100% sure this will solve the incompatibility issue, but it would be my first shot.
