  1. we had a guy on the farm many years ago that sprayed starting with a helicopter, then switched to a biplane the second time he was there with the plane (around 6 years spraying the fields) he landed near the pump and chemical trailer . jumped out white as a ghost, and screamed why didnt you tell me they put powerlines across the middle of the farm!!! my dumb 13 year old self explained to hem they have been there for over 30 years....all he had to do was look out the windshield to see them. i watched as he made a beeline for one of the towers on one of his passes, and i bet he missed it by less than 15 feet. i guess he never saw the wires as they were around 75 foot, and he usually sprayed at around 25 foot.
  2. we can only hope... and i agree, she is nuttier than squirrel turds.
  3. if i ever caught one of my drivers doing that, they would be walking home.
  4. well ya see, the "people that take those two idiots seriously" are not normal. they have serious mental issues for thinking that is ok.
  5. the last DM800 was produced in 1988, or 37 years ago. while i agree with you on the RD, a lot of people still buy with their pocketbook in mind. so the cheapest vehicle you can get away with is the way to go for their simple minds.
  6. not yet. but the boss is looking at them as the 2000 W900 is getting tired. i am sure once he sees the price he will just repower the W900 though
  7. as per google, pedo joes total as of this morning is 8,064 SO FAR. the next closet is his mentor barry obummer with 1,927
  8. Merry Christmas to one and all. may Santa bring each and every one of you a new Mack truck, and a pretty passenger seat cover that keeps her mouth closed. 🤪
  9. those guys work 12 hours a day for between 200 and 250 per day CASH. and they have to do at least 8 loads per day. their replacement drivers usually meet them where they load at and switch, then old guys get in the van and brought back to the truck yard. the $25 per load was a joke. but 15 years ago some of the port rats were doing loads for $25 per load. no overhead except for fuel. most of the trucks were deathtraps that were bought out of junkyards and slapped on the road. paper license plates, no insurance, marginal brakes, only one headlight, most of the time no blinkers or brake lights, half of the fiberglass nose flapping in the breeze driving down the road. if they were in a wreck, they would bail and run away.
  10. OUCH!!!!! i had that done dec 9 2015. due to complications from the nerve blocker, they kept me in 6 days. then could not be alone for 7 days until cleared by visiting nurse. so spent the next 8 days at my parents. was cleared to come home Christmas eve. and christmas day i walked to the store 1/4 miles away on crutches for a cup of coffee. by jan 1 i was walking 1 mile a day without even a cane.
  11. the bureaucrats can all go have sexual relations with bull African elephants.
  12. true, but if you take care of them i bet they are good rigs. i know a guy in town with 6 cab over Scania 113 tandem dumps. all at least 35 years old. runs them 5 days a week. loves them. and his drivers love them too. they never break down. another contractor around 15 miles away has 4 cab over tandem dumps he uses every day, and a conventional triaxle V8 he uses for his low boy and dump trailer. his brother has 3 or 4 cabover tandem dumps too. all at least 35 years old.
  13. yup, the noth joisey boys working for 25$ per load pay to the driver.. and those trucks run 24-7-365 too. buy the cheapest pos they can find and flip them every 6-7 months. if they last that long. those are the same crews responsible for insurance rates going through the roof because they flip at least one over a day here. not counting all the wrecks where they dont flip over.
  14. the new Scania trucks have some neat features. like the 770HP V8 engine. the lift drive axle for empty driving so you are only a single axle. the redesigned high visibility interior. the easy access to engine for checking fluids. the in cab adjustable air ride suspension. built in refrigerator in the cab. on board APU. the list goes on and on and on.
  15. NJ code 41 restrictions: Vehicles cannot operate on a highway at a speed greater than 45 miles per hour when carrying a load under 50 percent of the registered gross weight. Vehicle cannot exceed 30 miles (air mile radius) when carrying a load over 50 percent of the registered gross weight. i do not know of anyone still running code 41 plates. last person i knew with 41 plates dropped them around 25 years ago when he repowered his 69 8 DM800 with an electronic 400, 8LL trans,, and 4.56 gears.
  16. for the roads yes. but bridge laws are different. technically tandems are only allowed 34,000 on bridges. but no one enforces it.
  17. i always thought the "michelin man" was a south american thing. almost any truck driven by a south american here in New Jersey had at least one on top of the cab.
  18. not mine, but an local near me. Tom Bifulco is selling his V8 CL713 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1276643926785938/?ref i know this truck. it is clean and well loved.
  19. the only yards with trucks are Marlboro Auto Wreckers on Tennant Road, and Midway Auto Wreckers on Texas Road in Morvanville NJ. Marlboro has a truck yard about 1/2 mile from the main yard on Spring Valley road.
  20. they are mostly still there........for now. the only ones closed are Barons and PJ's. Aberdeen auto salvage is still there, but only open on saturday and by appointment during the week. John has gotten real sick and the guy running the yard for him has a full time weekday job. the two yards down the other end off Tyler lane are still open, and Midway auto wreckers is still open. Marlboro auto wreckers yard on spring valley road is still working, as is B&B on 520.
  21. it may be on google news, but it still aint true. if it was, ford would be promoting the heck out of it. and ford said "nope, not gonna happen."
  22. i highly doubt this is true, rather someone doing some wishful thinking. if it was true, it would already be here as ford starts building next year model cars around beginning of September.
  23. hey Paul, remember to wash the new coveralls Santa brings you before "going to work"!!! 🤣
  24. been a good 25 years since i was out that way. but it was beautiful country AND people back then.
