  1. We don't mind dirty truck pictures. That just proves it really is a work truck. And I fully understand mill work is filthy. A "quick" 1/4 mile trip into the mill grounds for a load of 3/4 to 1 inch recycled Slag and I have to wash the truck off cause it looks like I drove across the mud flats at 50 mph!!
  2. May years ago a friend had a dm800 cab and nose on a b81 frame. It was a frankentruck. 350 engine and an allison automatic trans
  3. Joey, if i can not get made in usa parts, made in mexico is second choice. they are still 1000 times better than cheap chinesium parts.
  4. yes, and they also had to change the tires, because they were with the company that owned the trailer!!
  5. not a mack, but about 40 years ago i moved an oil refinery cracking tower 6 miles to the waterfront to be shipped from new jersey to texas. 16 foot diameter 124 foot tall. weighed close to 250 ton. trailer was a mammoet with it's own 300 HP hydraulic powerplant. tractor was an autocar tri drive with a 903 V8 cummins and three 100 ton planetary rears with 5 speed deep reduction box, 5 low box, and 5 speed main box for a total of 125 possible gears to select from. top speed of the truck was only around 40 mph, but move speed was only around 1/2 MPH. the move ended up taking close to 24 hours though because the ground walkers on the passenger side missed an offset rail at an angled train crossing that blew out a whole mess of tires. something like 20 or so. it took almost 12 hours just to change the tires to get us back rolling.
  6. the way i always heard it was " if it aint one thing wrong, it is two things wrong.
  7. no, getting carried away is happens when the men in the clean white suits with big butterfly nets and hug me jackets start pounding on your door.
  8. looks like some kind of drop down hitch frame for flat towing something, or maybe to hook a crash attenuator on.
  9. it will leak as long as there is pressure in the trans. once it cools off, or the pressure is released it will stop.
  10. maybe the vent got blocked and it pressurized the trans pumping the oil past the seal?
  11. one thing to make sure of with uship is that the carrier has insurance. a lot of them can haul for next to nothing because they do not carry liability insurance if something gets damaged.
  12. good old DM-600. and since it is a steel "round dash" it is pre 1973 too.
  13. i dont feel any different either Bob..... until AFTER try to do something i should no longer be doing. my daughter is regularly telling me that is why i have a son in law, to do the stupid stuff for me. i do know a few limitations though. absolutely NO roof anymore, and no ladder climbing.
  14. i am not a smartass. i am a jack ass. there is a difference. ...... not much, but there IS a difference. number one difference is a smartass knows when to keep his mouth shut....sometimes number two difference is a smartass knows better than to volunteer to do ANYTHING
  15. oh stop being such a drama queen. i bet it aint no hotter than 148 degrees there!!! 🤪
  16. the fiberglass panels are about 4 times the cost of metal panels. i did roofs on lean too sheds for equipment at the yard last fall. i was going to buy the fiberglass panels until i saw price. $43 each for fiberglass compared to $11 each for painted steel. i needed 50 panels, 10 12 footers and 40 16 footers. $550 compared to $2150 is a no brainer to go with metal.
  17. mehh, it is still betterrer than a big honkin hole.
  18. yup on both accounts. winter down under. been raining here since sunday afternoon. finally clearing up now. and temps have been in 90's all week too
  19. Bob, they are 17 hours ahead of us. so seeing it is 7 am where you are, it is midnight where Paul is.
  20. nothing to see here, move along......
  21. no one ever said demonrats had any intelligence.
  22. check the fuel pressure too. ... the regulator may be bad.
  23. they were available with a bunch of different engines. i have seen Cummins, cat, detroit, and mack engines in them. both inline 6 and V8's
  24. most of the time the check engine light comes on because the gas cap fails, or the person who puts it on leaves it loose or never puts it back on.
