  1. my boss is a different breed of animal. my current T800 has a 475 C13 with an eaton 8II trans. the low boy is a W900 with a 500 C 15 and 18 speed. the T880 has a 550 cummins with auto . and the new T880 he just ordered to replace my T800 is getting the 550 Cummins and auto trans too. he knows larger engine uses less fuel. one of the guys we run with has a T880 with the 370 paccar engine and auto trans, it will not get out of its own way empty. and only gets 3.5 mpg.
  2. unfortunately in my town you need a permit and inspection for everything. mainly due to way too many crooked inspectors over the years looking the other way for a "donation"
  3. they sound pretty good!!
  4. before i started with the home shop her at the house, i got a variance from the town for placement where it is. law says 5 foot from side and 10 from rear property line. i went 2 side and 4 rear. 99% of the garages here are directly on the property line, just like the one i took down out front. this took all the wind out of the inspectors sails before they could start trying to blow smoke up my asterisk.
  5. there are already plenty of wolves in nuu yawk. .... but you may be on to something. introduce the 4 legged variety, and maybe they will eat all the 2 legged ones.
  6. there are a few speedometers and tachs over 4 inch diameter available to purchase Vlad. most are designed more for race cars with their 160 MPH and 10 grand dials, but there are some for diesel trucks in the 90-100 MPH and 4-5,000 RPM range. both mechanical and electric pickup..
  7. Vlad, with the way that slab is designed it is almost a "floating slab" meaning i it moves it will move as one piece. my home shop is poured the same way, 8 inch center with 18 deep and 24 inches wide at the outer edges. 22 years now and it has not moved at all. the apron out front of the door dropped almost 1 inch though, because the ground under it was not compacted properly.
  8. speedo and tach are Kenworth units Vlad. the panel they sit in should be gray plastic just like the dash, not stainless steel or aluminum. the parking brake light should be under the high beam indicator as 1 inch square lights, and not the single little indicator light that is between the gauges. .
  9. my ex used to tell me i was an azz hole all the time and i don't ever remember eating azz hole.
  10. when my 05 did that, it was overcharged ac. i bled off a few ounces of refrigerant and the problem went away. i think the high side switch was weak and reading too high pressure.
  11. same way they make hot dogs and bologna, only less spices. and that has never stopped people from eating hot dogs or bologna.
  12. nope. photobucket links no longer work.
  13. bob, my problem is all my pictures are on photobucket, and if i try to get them back on my computer they either show the size of postage stamps, or will not load at all. my daughter and grand daughter both tried, and neither of them had any luck figuring it out either. and the daughter works with computer programing all day long.
  14. no stupid phone here, and i don't even know what tapatalk is. i am a dinosaur. it took the kids 3 years to edumakate me enough to use a laptop!!!
  15. you ain't driven on joisey roads lately have you Larry.
  16. i have a picture that was taken back in 82 when i was still on the police force before i broke my neck. ..........but can't figure out how to post it.
  17. ain't that the truth!!!
  18. it really amazes me how the pioneers could build a log house with nothing but an axe, and make it almost perfectly square. but the builders of 1940's through 2000 can not even get within 2 inches of square with all the technology they had at their disposal.
  19. the crash that killed Troy was less than 1 mile away from the airport where people were gathering for a concert he was playing in a few hours.
  20. plus most of the contractors back then figured "close enough" was close enough and did not bother using a plumb bob, T-square, or in the event of the guy that built my house, a ruler
  21. i have spent the past twenty years fixing all the buiders screwups. i am at the point that now i can hang a door or window and actually have it open. i also have the place fairly level, there is now only about a 1 inch pitch over the 48 foot front to rear. when i bought the place it was closer to 5 inches off pitch front to rear, and the building was almost 3 inches off square front to rear. 4 20 ton jacks can do a lot of work when trying to square and level a house. as long as there are enough nails in it to hold it together when trying to move it.
  22. is there a way to switch from opening threads on first post to opening them on last post when clicking on view unread content?
  23. i think this guy built my house. there is not one square corner in the whole place.
  24. this is what i get on both links. Sorry, there is a problem The page you are trying to access is not available for your account. Error code: 2C171/1
