  1. solid rock under him. looks to me like clearing the pad to drill for a blast.
  2. helicopter.
  3. well if the truck is registered as historic, or non commercial personal use, it does not fall under the commercial truck ruling and is allowed.
  4. about 15 years ago i had a new neighbor move in next door. within a year she turned in to the neighbor from hell. nothing was good enough. and she complained about everything. the straw that broke the camels back was the day she complained to the town council about "the junk yard of non running abandoned vehicles next door" lucky for me i was home the next day when the police, zoning board officials, code enforcement officials, and two council members showed up, along with 2 wreckers to tow away all the "abandoned" vehicles. when i asked what was going on they started to explain. i said oh, that truck? handed one of the cops the registration and insurance card, got in the truck , started it up, and pulled it out onto the road. and proceeded to do the same thing with 7 other trucks and cars. when the asked about the one truck i did not go near, i told the zoning officer " i am allowed one non registered or insured vehicle, and that is it. it runs, but i can not pull it out on the road because it is not registered or insured. i started it up, and moved it forward and back into it's spot. then parked all the others. with nothing they could do, they had to pay the two wreckers for nothing, and left. never had any issues with the town after that, and the witch moved out a year later.
  5. i had on like that in a 79 superliner. original V8 truck converted to 300 when the V8 died. short stick was deep reduction in first and reverse only, air shift stick was 1-5, reverse, low, and direct.
  6. and then after paying out the nose, i hope they loose all their customers. scumbags like that deserve to loose everything they have.
  7. there may not be anything wrong with it. the few triple nickel engines i have run over the years were all hard starting. you had to crank them over damn near forever, or use ether to get started, pretty much like the old ford IDI V8 without working glow plugs.
  8. no, the residents don't. but the visitors are slobs.
  9. today at the Englishtown Nj swap meet, i saw a beautiful B85 "pickup" with NY plates on it on the car show line. does it belong to anyone here? wish i thought to bring my camera!!!
  10. i'm surprised the camera didn't break on the last picture!!!
  11. yea, really. even starting out in second is tough on the clutch
  12. we used to saw kick it into neutral, and take a nap. when you wake up it should be ready to go into gear.
  13. the mack is a non syncronized trans, so you have to match engine rpm's to gear rpm's. some people double clutch. that is where you step on the clutch, take it out of gear, let the clutch out, step on it again, then put it in gear. to down shift, step on clutch, take out of gear, let off clutch and rev engine, step on clutch and put it in lower gear. most of us that have been driving forever do not use the clutch except for taking off. we just match rpm's by ear and slip it into gear.

  15. looks like a concrete floor under it. and it solf for $12,800. as for the rust, it was on the road in Michigan for 23 years ans 245,000 miles. that is most likely where the bulk of the rust came from
  16. the quick glance i got of the trailer it looked like a lowboy, or low deck. so my guess is he high-sided it and got hung up on the tracks.
  17. that is a funny looking reefer.
  18. welcome to BMT. sounds like the power supply has an issue. when i get radios like that, they are cheap enough that i just replace them.
  19. i don't think the first pic and the last are the same truck. first is probably a parts truck cannibalized to keep the last pic truck working.
  20. glad i don't drive in Ottawa!!!
  21. unfortunately the 16 year old girl he targeted, an ex girlfriend, died yesterday morning.
  22. i am going to say lamp finial from the late 1800's early 1900's
  23. wow, sweet truck. i wonder if there is anything left of it, or if it has been relegated to rusting back into mother earth?
  24. mehhhh. it can't be no worse than the 4 track train wreck between my ears!!
