  1. i remember when the "cash for clunkers" debacle was in full swing, there was a dealership in north jersey that was giving the $4500 for cars on trade for new jap crapboxes. then putting th ecars in the back lot. then the CFC debacle was over he started selling the cars. people were freaking out that he was selling CFC cars instead of destroying them. in particular was a 88 mustang gt with 42,000 miles on it, a 99 crown vic LX with 26,000 miles on it, a newer impalla SS with no miles on it, and a vette. the 4 owners went to the government and turned him in for selling CFC cars. after the investigation was over they realized this dealership did not put in one claim for them as CFC cars. he bought them all outrite and resold them, all legal he then posted a little over a year later that of the 6,000 CFC cars he sold, 90% of them were repossessed for failure to pay. this means the people traded in perfectly good cars that were paid for, on cars they could not afford, then lost and were now riding mass transit instead.
  2. after 42 years of stiff clutches, i finally had to get a new knee last december.

  5. once upon a time it was a decent show, 20 years ago. these days it is all about trailer queens.

  7. pros: they are monsters that will pull anything, anywhere, anytime. Cons: they are impossible to get parts for anymore if they break.
  8. mt guys do not know of anyone up there, but when you get up here let me know and i will put you in contact with a broker in middlesex county. he uses guys from up there quite a bit, in particular the Venerio brothers.
  9. you need to get the code to know. without the code, it could be anything
  10. cruise control off, flip the set switch and read the malfunction lite flashes. that will be your diagnostic trouble code. once you have the code you will know where to look.
  11. it all depends what is making the light come on.
  12. i have people try to do that every day with the back of my triaxle.

  15. they are very thirsty. drinks way too much for me. the one we had at the old job would use close to 200 gallons of fuel in a 12 hour day
  16. depends on what you consider north jersey. are you talking bergen county area, sussex county area, or monmouth county area?
  17. correct, ATC is auto traction control, and slightly applies the brake of the slipping wheel. the lightning bolt is the electrical malfunction light, some call it the check engine light.
  18. not sure the manufacturer of that ^^^concrete paver. the bidwells i worked with were all dump and screed machines

  24. very carefully. i can't explain how to do it, except it has to be in just the rite position and then it will practically fall out. same for putting it back in. get it just rite and it falls rite in. if it is not just rite it will never go in. sometimes it takes me 2 minutes to get it out and back in, other times it fights me all the way for hours.
  25. mack 12 speed shifts just like a 5 speed trans with 2 speed rear. pretty much idiot proof. unless of course you are an idiot.
