  1. a small can of dye added to the system will allow then to look at each connection with a infrared light to find the leak, some dyes will show with a black light. i use a "sniffer" too. took me 3 years to find the leak in my crown vic, the schrader valve in the high pressure side connector had a chip in the rubber and it would not seal properly
  2. i run channel 1 on the CB since the asphalt plant i deal with is on 1. usually nice and quiet. 19 here in joisey is nothing but "can i get a radio check" every 15 seconds, mixed with people bitching about swift, schneider, jbhunt, and werner trucks doing something stupid.
  3. that is exactly what i see and use. same now as the old format.
  4. looks like bulb lights.
  5. i may be up that way on monday. if i do get to go i will call the guy and see if i can get some closeup pics and a better feel on condition.
  6. no live farm animals, blow up dolls, or barry manilow albums. does this mean you are allowed barry white albums, dead farm animals, and full size non inflatable dolls?
  7. you take it apart. transport the two drive units on their own trailer, and the beams and tracks on a third trailer. then use a crane to put it together wherever you end up at.
  8. i haven't use IE in close to 7 years now, firefox is so much better and forum friendly.
  9. when i pick a topic with more than one page, i see the drop down to choose what page i want with page numbers showing, and i just click on the highest number to take me to the last page Bulldozers 1 2 3 4 9
  10. ^^^ this^^^ we used to have one in the rescue truck in case a large ship wrecked on the jetties at the entrance to the river. you would fire the coiled rope from the "gun" from the bluff near the inlet and aim over the ship. then they would use the rope to haul a larger cable out and tie it off to the highest point on the ship. then use a bosun's chair to shuttle the crew from the ship to shore.
  11. i was not aware internet explorer was even active.
  12. how about an option to downsize things like sections you never look at so they do not pop up on the screen every time? also an option to set page color and print color? for some with vision issues the black with white print is like stabbing an ice pick in the eyeball even for the few seconds it takes to scroll past it. never mind, i just found the post about themes and figured out how to change back to the one from yesterday.
  13. oh, ok. thanks. i did not see it because i had screen size set a little too big and it cut the rite side out.
  14. how about a mark all forums read button. ?
  15. i thought the interwebs found out we sold the mack testerday and i moved up to the kenworth and banned my from BMT!!!
  16. probably just a coincidence the names look the same.
  17. yup,a lot of people do not realize that. a 12 24.5 is almost 1 inch taller than a 11 24.5 and has a much higher weight rating. i run 12 24.5 rubber on the 05 CV713. makes a big difference in the way the truck rides.
  18. damn stupid autocorrect. that should read CHIP- SEAL
  19. 12X24 rims on that one. they are split rims on that truck.. 24.5 are one piece rims.
  20. they still do ship-seal here in the states too. though not nearly as much as they did 30-40 years ago.
  21. same tip i use. i apply the ospho with a weed sprayer set on mist. give it a good coat and wait 24 hours. it will turn a dull black color if properly treated. i usually give 2 good coats just to be sure everything gets treated. once treated and dry for at least 24 hours i prime. the test patch i did on an old piece of 5/8 diamond plate that was out in the weather for close to 20 years stayed that dull black for 4 years after treatment before starting to show any sign of rust again
  22. i think our version of that truck would be the Titan
  23. i use pressure washer to clean rust flake off, then ospho to treat metal, then give it one or two coats of rustoleum red oxide primer cut 40% with acetone. then paint with rustoleum industrial paint cut the same 40% acetone for frames. i have not used the hardener in the paint yet, i plan on doing that on the 88 F-SuperDuty when i finish the restoration this summer.
