  1. same here, the few we had were still under warranty, but on 300's. the heads were under warranty also. we only had 1 350 engine. the owner liked keeping everything the same so one part would fit all 20 trucks.
  2. the reason for the post size limit on most forums is to keep from overloading the servers. before Internet Brands bought FTE there was a very small post size limit, and if a thread reached more than 1000 posts it would put a heavy load on the servers when multiple threads that large would try to load at the same time. so we would split threads and close the old ones at around 500 posts to keep from overloading the servers. then IB came aboard and revamped everything with their very large server farms and eliminated the problems.
  3. saw that a few times also. but by far we had more bad heads. probably 10 bad heads compared to 2 or 3 bad wafers on the lifter.
  4. the big problems we had with the late 80's 300 engines was with the rocker bosses snapping off the head when a jake brake was used. the replacement heads had no problems.
  5. got a link to it? i cant find it on the site
  6. i knew a guy years ago that used to buy mack trucks out of canada that were speced very light so he could carry 23-24 ton in a tandem. single frame, light rears and front axle. his reasoning was he only did on road work delivering stock from quarries to asphalt plants, never ever drove off road so he did not need heavy rears. and he would replace the truck every 5 years before he had frame problems. the last one he bought was a 89 superliner that only weighed 24,000 lbs full of fuel..
  7. had that happen back in 88 in Red Bank NJ. crackhead forgot to lift the plow as he was crossing the railroad tracks doing 35PH, and the cutting edge hit the rail perfectly. stood a V-8 powered 75 DM800 straight up in the air. had to get a crane to lift the truck off the plow and put it on the lowboy so i could bring it home. it also ripped the front axle out of the truck, and almost knocked the fuel tanks off.
  8. no need to worry about that, i can not pay more for health insurance than i make. i have been on disability since the beginning of december. well, that is a misnomer. i have been disabled since then. i have not gotten any money since then either. me skin is not the rite color, and i speak english.
  9. thanks. my friend has a sick sense of humor, and she has a picture section on her facebook page full of swift "oopsies"
  10. got a link for the swift pic? i want to send it to a friend.
  11. why am i not surprised to see a fed ex truck in the front of the mess? i wonder when the rocket scientist are going to get it through their thick coconuts that they have to slow the hell down when the weather and road conditions are bad?
  12. it says our health care is a joke, just like every other "plan" the coward in chief enacted. unless of course you are on welfare or still drink the kool aid. but from what i have been reading even the kool aid drinkers are starting to get ticked off at him after seeing how much their "affordable programs" are costing
  13. yup. my health insurance cost went from $802 per month to $2,247 per month to pay for all of the coward in chiefs new best friends.
  14. windex and a new razor blade. spray the windex on, let it sit and do it's thing for 15-20 minutes and then scrape off with the razor. keep it wet and wipe the razor off on a paper towel or rag frequently to keep the edge clean.

  16. to be more specific, that is the arm used by a power tarping system to cover and uncover the load. there is one on each side of the body, and springs on the bottom of the arm where the pivot point is on the body. then there is an electric motor on the cab shield to wind or unwind the tarp.
  17. no, what the buffoon said was that HE will never be at war against islam. the rest of the united states will declare no holds barred war against isis as soon as the demoncrats are kicked out of office.
  18. yup. life is different in new yawk. while the car drivers see it as a rat race, city construction drivers go slow because they are paid by the hour, and are mostly all union drivers.
  19. top speed on that combo is 62 mph, loaded going downhill. had the same setup in the DM's and 80's R models
  20. it is a conspiracy to drive you nuttier than squirrel droppings.
  21. ^^^ this^^^ with cruise turned off, push the set/resume switch and count the flashes. this will give you the error code, and then you can determine what is wrong.
  22. it already does on most days.
  23. but someone would have to pay to clean the porta pottys.
  24. oh, ok. that works! i used to get comments all the time on how my 88 R model sounded so good with a muffler on it. i did the same thing, pipe inside the muffler so the muffler was just for looks.
