  1. why do i have this funny feeling your girls are going to start bothering you for quad box driving lessons??
  2. that looks better than most of the trucks running the road here in joisey! probably runs better too
  3. canragie deli is of no more. closed last night.
  4. i hear that!!! my 66 7 litre 4 speed will not got over 8 mpg no matter how easy i am with it. usual is closer to 6 mpg. but that 428 is one thirsty bugger with the 850 holley style carb sitting on top of it
  5. agreed. my 65 289 with an edelbrock performer intake and carb and pertronix ignition, C4 trans, and 3.20 gears in the rear diff will get 25 mpg if i keep my foot off the gas.
  6. around 10 years ago there was a guy at the englishtown nj swap meet and car show that had a blown 460 ford engine in a corvette. he reason for doing it?? to piss off all the people that felt it was ok to put a chevy engine in anything with wheels under it. what was even more of an insult to the chevy crowd was the fact that it would run circles around all the big block chevy powered anythings it went up against.
  7. unless you are in the communist states like new york, new jersey, commifornia, or any of the others states that do not recognize concealed carry reciprocity. then you go straight to jail, do not collect go, and get your vehicle impounded with a good chance of never getting it back because it was used in the commission of a felony crime, carrying a firearm without a permit.
  8. taint broke Swishy. truth is, people see you log and leave!!! just busting your chops, i was not even aware there was a chat room here.
  9. that red bull crap is like 4 cups of coffee in one can!!
  10. next time you go to the doc to get the BP checked, lay off the coffee and salt for a week before. that should drop it 30-40 points.
  11. that is not new, it is a glider kit made up of various old parts.
  12. 8V71 detroit with a 13 speed road ranger trans
  13. no idea. but the 2016 we have has not once had any DEF problems in 22,000 miles. and it has only gone into regen once so far. plus the 550 cummins with auto trans is averaging close to 8 mpg. the best Mike can get is 4.5 with the 2011, and that has a 425 and 18 speed.
  14. well, in the past 10 years Mack trucks have turned sour taste in a lot of owners. we had a 99 great truck. the 05 CV713 was a good truck too, but not speced properly for construction with the itty bitty rears. one of the guy sthat rents space in the yard has 3 newer Macks, a 2008, a 2011, and a 2014. all three are nothing but headaches. constantly going into limp mode due to DPF problems i went from the 05 granite to an 05 T800. and in the spring the 05 is going down the road and we are getting another T880 because hte boss has heard way too many problems with the new Macks from everyone that has one. the Kenworth is just a more dependable truck. and cost the same money as a Mack. hopefully Mack leadership gets their heads out of their asterisks and does something about it before there is no Mack trucks left .
  15. i agree. in the past 10 years or so most of the large contractors here have switched over from Macks to Kenworth T800's and now the new T880's
  16. breathing, and not drooling down on his sneakers.
  17. been there, and done the "use the body as a wheel chock" more than once in my younger days too.
  18. i do not have to worry about looking for keys anymore. if they are not on top of the desk, i automatically got to the front door. where they are left in the lock tumbler after i unlock the door, and come in the house without taking the keys out of the door. after 5-6 months of looking for the damn truck keys at 4 am when trying to go to work and having no luck so grab the spare set only to find the missing keys in the outside cylinder, i now just automatically look there first.
  19. nothing beats spending a half hour looking for your glasses. that you are already wearing!!!
  20. i never use a BFH after that one time it bounced back and knocked some sense into me. i now use a 20 ton porta-power to force thing on.
  21. Already that way in commifornia. I believe the current rule is 2000 and newer, or must be re-powered to 2000 and newer. A friend had to leave commifornia because they would not let him re-register his 99 without re-powering it.
  22. the one on the farm did not have the windshield that stuck into the door like that, it had th e"square doors". also has a 190 cummins with a duplex trans and swing fenders.
  23. every time i see one of those hideous looking internationals all i can think of is the movie were the trucks went wild, maximum overdrive.
  24. mehhhh. that would wear you guys out too quick, and then you would not be able to do anything for the rest of the day!!
  25. exactly this. the local leaders were the scum of the earth. made all kinds of false statements and hid their greed/graft from everyone until it was too late. plus about 15 years ago they started giving concessions to the laborers local just like the operating engineers did and ended up giving teamsters jobs away. operating engineers first let the companies go without an oiler. they then agreed to let the laborers run the machine for the "little job" instead of bringing in an operator for the whole day. then the companies went to the teamsters and said we do not need a driver for the whole day, we only need to move one load on site. the operating engineers let us do it, will you? and the teamsters said yes. come 10 years later and there are no more new teamster jobs. so money going out to money coming in starts to differ. soon there is one dollar going out for every ten cents coming in. plus with the mismanagement of the funds, illegal transferring of moneys from annuity and pension funds to general funds to pay bribes and political payouts for lobbyists, and extremely inflated union officials pay, there is no more money left in the kitty. then when asked where the money went, the fund manager says "i don't know, we made poor market choices"
