  1. yup, nu yawk bridge nazis make their own rules too. just because truck manufacturer says it is good for 81,000 dont mean squat. the bridge nazis say you are only allowed 53,000 because if the pusher axle in not at least 10 foot from steering axle it is not considered as a legal axle.
  2. a very good friend was complaining of constant "heartburn" for three weeks. i kept telling him to go to a doctor NOW! he finally made an appointment two weeks later. and had a massive heart attack walking into the doctors office. they said he was dead before he hit the ground. if he had listened to me 5 weeks earlier he would still be here.
  3. same here. been about 13 years since i was out in the woods, after my knee went fubar. and we have not opened the butcher shop on the farm since my friends dad passed away 9 years ago. we used to do 5-6 pigs and a cow every year plus the 10 or so deer. now Billly only does 1 or 2 deer a year, so he does them in the barn instead of the butcher shop
  4. But it will take you all day to get enough meat to make a sammich!
  5. Paul, that is a ground hop. Moles are more like mice.
  6. Back when I pulled wrenches a woman brought her full size jeep grand Cherokee in because the brakes "did not feel rite". It had no rotors left wore the face of so there was just the nubs sttuck to the hub showing pads were missing, and caliper pistons were missing. She was driving on the rear brake only, which were also metal on metal with the shoes almost wore completely through. All 4 ball joints, 6 universals, and steering linkage was wasted too. While going through the truck, I went to do an oil change. Nothing came out of the pan. She drove 60,000 miles and only put gas in it. While tearing the engine down because the lifters were dished, the cam came out in two pieces. At that we just put a new crate 360 in the 3 year old jeep. Cost to fix it was almost as much as it cost new. She bought a new one and had us fix the old one up for her son who just got his license. And he is still driving it to this day.
  7. make friends with a grain farmer, than offer to keep the deer destruction of crops down. the farmer will thank you, and you will get a freezer full of venison, which is much better than beef.
  8. i ran one of them as a loaner when my freightliner was in the shop back in 79-80. had a 8V71 with 13 speed. shifter was broken about two inches off the floor. so they used a piece of black iron gas pipe to bring the shift head high enough to use. great truck, but it was a bear to run into the city without power steering
  9. maybe cause you are getting old and senile???
  10. Aussies have the best names for stuff. especially for what we call starting fluid. i could just imagine what the librard idiots would do if that was ever put on the market here.
  11. i actually thought it was 99, but we are both wrong according to google search: Model Year Started Year Ended CL Series 1994 2007
  12. i dont think Mack still made the CL in 07 did they?
  13. anything will fit if you have enough money and fabricating skills. you will have to change the engine management computer, and figure out the wiring to get the detroit computer to match the Mack dash. if your friend is dead set on a detroit, he would be ahead moneywise in the long run to sell the mack and get a truck already setup for the detroit.
  14. ya know Vlad, if the world had a lot more people like you over there on the other side of the pond, i bet it would be a much better place.
  15. I had a 237 juiced to around 265 that passed smoke puff test for 2005 engines. 0nly blew 5%
  16. We have a local (sorta) truck junk yard around 20 miles away. He has at least 50 Mack engines in the yard at any given time.
  17. wow!! i did not see that one, and i regularly watch Purple wave.
  18. FB Marketplace is not all that great. 80% of the posts are from scammers.
  19. years ago there was a local here in Jersey that had a W900 Kenworth with a Mack E9 V8 and 18 speed. when i saw the picture of ^this^ Mack i at first thought it was the W900. than i enlarged the pic and saw it was a Mack.
  20. the few times i have to go to conneticut i take 287 over the tappan zee instead of taking 95 through nu yawk chitty. it is around 60 miles longer drive, but take on average 2 hours less time.
  21. i see no reason not to do it. a friend here in New Jersey still runs 4 237 powered trucks every day. slow and steady keeps you out of trouble.
  22. sorry to hear about you grandmother. she had a good run at 101 years. as far as city driving goes, i just dont go into cities any more. it is bad enough out in the suburbs.
  23. must not comment...must not comment!!!🤣
