  1. at 45 i have to deal with all the askwholes doing 90+ in a 55 zone weaving between all 3 lanes like a nascar driver 2 laps down on the last lap. i was never a speeder, because i never worked for percentage, by the ton, or by the load. i get paid hourly. if the contractor tells me i need to go faster i give him my paperwork and tell him to sign me out. i learned a long long long time ago slow and steady wins the race. guys get loaded and speed away. than stop for 1/2 hour each load. than speed back to the job. at the end of the day they say I have to be speeding because they are always 10-15 mph over the speed limit, but i do one or two loads more than them. but the job supers know better.
  2. does the dash look like this? : if answer is yes, the truck is not a 75. last year for the steel "round dash" was 72/73. by 74 all mack trucks had the new design plastic dashboards. like this:
  3. nah. just safe. WAY too many brain dead steering wheel holders out there rolling over three -four trucks every day just in my state alone. i am a right lane runner. in 54 years driving i have had 1 ticket for not coming to a full stop at a stop sign when i was 18, and 4 accidents...none of which were my fault.
  4. I ad almost the same load going 120 miles three weeks ago. Only difference was a bucket instead of the miller head. Put the front chain and binder on, than boss called and distracted me. Jumped in truck and left. 120 miles later I pulled into the job to see the chains and binders laying on the deck, next to my 3/4 full cup of coffee. And nothing moved. When loaded, I do not go over 45 mph.
  5. Mehhh. That aint nothing. I am trying to post true rednek engamineerin in the shop talk thread, but am having issues with the pictures
  6. oh well, sorry but the pictures will not load. 3 foot over hang in front, and touching each other, with the rear machine attachment touching the rear ramps. plus there was 1 miller head, 1 broom, 2 flat buckets, and 12 ton clean stone in the body because someone forgot to bring the mason dump with the 18 foot bobcat trailer this morning. but i gotter done, because i are a perfessamanal
  7. How do you fit 33 foot of machines on a 30 foot trailer?? VERY CAREFULLY! Pictures to follow
  8. Yup, top has a slight swivel to it. We had that setup on an old Brockway tractor many many many moons ago. it was a late 60's very early 70's tandem with 290 Cummins and 18 speed. And a gazillion miles on it.
  9. We sorta did that in my neighbors back yard. 32X24 oval pool. I dug down 12 inches for 36 inch sides above ground. Ladder/deck side was 4 foot deep, the other side I dug an extra 2 foot for 6 foot deep. The local pool shop custom made us a liner to fit.
  10. that is a tire auto inflation system. the "bell" on the fronts is probably some sort of rotating system to prevent line from deforming/breaking when steering.
  11. why would you need three screwdrivers in a pool??
  12. he deleted most of his old posts when he started causing trouble for some reason only known to him.
  13. it is obvious you aint no redneck!!!! the beer is in the cooler which is floating in the pool.
  14. no, i meant you.
  15. ya know Paul, i really thought that was a very young Joey!!

  17. We actually have an "other truck makes" section here.
  18. for me that is in my recliner in front of the AC unit..........set on 70 degrees
  19. my 05 had the relay in the fuse box. pulled it out and no more DRL's
  20. mine was the 57 ford 2 door wagon with the 312 mcculloch supercharger and 3 speed manual with floor shifter i took on trade for work performed back in late the 70"s. i knew i would wreck it sooner or later and sold it to a collector............who still has it
  21. Engine still running for 5 minutes after key off could be an engine cool off thing.
  22. my friend is out there. posted video of their 5 acre field under 3 foot of water. the bridge off the land washed away. the stream which is usually 15 foot wide and 1 foot deep is no over 50 wide and 20 deep. also a hail mountain growing on the deck 10 foot wide and 3 foot tall from the hail and sleet falling off the roof down the valley and overflowing the gutters. what land is not under water is covered with 4-5 inches of ice/sleet.
  23. google search for DM800 electric wiper motor shows quite a few results.
  24. there is nothing wrong with an auto trans.......if you have an engine in front of it. i have a 600HP engine in my kenworth and have no problems outrunning cars off traffic lights or pulling hills....even at 120,000 lbs.
