  1. i have had them both ways. main in gear, aux in neutral. also main in neutral and aux in direct.
  2. i have been looking for an enclosed trailer for a while now. 4 years ago a 8X20 was $7,200. that same trailer today is over $11,000
  3. and i bet the sold it the next day for a good 20 grand profit too!!!
  4. it has the ViN we were given. the issue was when making a change order on the order sheet, everything reverts back to basic order. so you need to change line by line. and since the salesman knew he was retiring in a few weeks, he did not care and only checked off the "important" big money items like cummins engine, allison trans, and navplus stereo. when i got the order sheet for the new truck a few months ago, i noticed a few items missing and called on them. three days later i got a new order sheet with all the correct items. than once ordered got the same build sheet with everything i wanted before it was sent to the factory for assembly. seems like a really stupid way to do business, but as they say, what do i know, i am just a stupid truck driver.
  5. Bob, that is not the trucks fault. it is the way it was ordered. when you order the cheapest pos you can, you get a cheap pos. we order the best we can. unfortunatly this one truck was not what we ordered, and did not realize it until it was built, paid for and delivered.
  6. i don't. they voted for those idiots, because they promised free stuff for that vote.
  7. mmmmm BACON!!!!
  8. needs bacon!!
  9. i worked two union shops. 32 years. when it came time to retire, i found out my pension would be $276 per month, and i got $39,000 out of the annuity fund i put over $460,000 into. the teamsters union stole everything they could get their hands on between 2000 and 2010. that is why i am still working. i can not live on social security alone
  10. old dominion is like that too. non union, and whenever the unions try their push, the employees tell them to take a hike.
  11. same with all the trucks here in the central jersey terminal. almost all are from the 90's and will be heading to the scrap yards. the yard jockey is a 1985, and according to the driver, if he does not grease it an change the oil himself, it wound lever get don at all. the side door is welded shut because one day he opened it and it fell off. so he only uses the rear door the past three years.
  12. the nice thing about the galaxy is the truck is big enough to hold a 10KW generator to charge the batteries off the in car tank while you are in the store or wherever. 👍
  13. yup. either re gear, or sell it to a road runner. we went for option #2. as soon as the new truck is in this one is gone. we will not loose money as there are none to be had with the cummins engine. so the other guy is agreed on sale price we paid for it last year, which is around $15k less than the new one. so with the credit we already have, i will be stepping into a new truck for no money.
  14. correct, due to the 4.10 gears and being speed limited at 64 mph, it does not shift into 6th until 62 mph. if that was the issue, i do not think it would have made it to 12,500 miles. i have had the truck in much worse conditions milling uphill and never had any issues. the tech at the dealership is thinking the something in pump let loose causing a blockage in the cooler lines, which caused it to get very hot when it hung up in two gears and self destructed.
  15. this is a rough service T880 Bob. the 2016 had 120k miles when sold and the 19 had 75k miles. no issues on either one. this truck is not what we ordered, but i had to take it because the old truck was already sold. my friend has 12 with over 300k miles on them no issues. and his drivers run them hard and put them away wet. my trucks are taken care of. i really think it was a fluke in the trans.
  16. well, they are replacing it under warranty. but it will most likely be AT least a month before i see it back. last year the old truck has a leaking cooler line. that took 4 weeks to get a new line in .
  17. dealer just called. when they dropped the pan the trans guts fell out of it. it is being towed to allison for a new trans install on monday. they said it is so bad they probably will not be able to figure out what caused the failure.
  18. who are you kidding? kids today cant take the pain of someone calling their momma fat!!!
  19. My mind tells me i am still 25. But my body reminds me i am closer to 125 after i try doing something i did when I was 25.
  20. everything is through the roof cost wise over the past three years. a rotor and pads was $63 5 years ago. the same parts saturday was $176.
  21. every day, the movie "Idiocracy" gets closer and closer to becoming reality.
  22. usually no.
  23. And if you decide to participate wearingnothing but a string thong and paint of convrsee hhightops we DO NOT want any pictures!!! 🤪
  24. the fix for the ratio deal was the truck is already sold for more than we paid for it when the new truck comes in. they also gave us a $15,000 credit on the new truck for items ordered and paid for but not delivered. we ordered 12/24.5 rubber, got 11/24.5. ordered leather interior got cloth. ordered pto and pusher axle in dash and got no pto and pusher axle mounted behind the cab on frame. ordered back up camera, was not installed. ordered exterior grab handles, none installed. ordered 120 gallon polished fuel tank, came with 80 gallon matt finish tank. ordered stainless trim, came with chrome trim that was already tarnished/rust stained. my problem is i pull trailers. 4.10 is a road runner gear. i hit hills and sometimes drop down under 30 mph with a 565 hp engine. with the old truck and 4.56 gears, at 80,000 lbs i would hit the same hill at 30 on bottom and could top it at 55.
  25. they are well aware of the issues and already gave us $15,000 off on the new 2023 truck purchase for not getting what we ordered with the 2022
