  1. that is what you get for messing with gators. gators are best left for the professionals workin the swamps. 😁
  2. my old 10 KW onan is a 3600rpm screamer. you can hear it 5 blocks away when it is running. and it loves gas. 1.5 gallons per hour. the new 15 KW onan is an 1800 rpm 4 cylinder air cooled. that is much quieter, only about 100 foot noisy. that is rated 250CFM natural gas, but i think it only uses around 200 CFM. i also have a little portable 2400 watt yamaha inverter. that thing is quiet. it can be running full power and you can carry on a conversation standing next to it without raising your voice. it will also run 8 hours on 2.5 gallons of gas. when i am done with the gas powered units, i turn the gas off and run the carbs dry. i also mix double dose of marine and regular stabil in the gas tanks. with that mixture gas stays good for around 18 months. i also have an automatic transfer switch wired into the house, so i dont have to do anything. the big unit is self start and shut off, and self test once a month for 5 minutes too
  3. generjunks are the best selling generators........because every time people need them they have to buy a new one.
  4. nothing like a set of 6 inch chrome stacks without mufflers to make a bulldog sound just rite. especially when the jake has it barking down a long grade.
  5. not without an oversize load permit.
  6. generac units have a nickname of "generjunk" they work great, until you need them to work. but they spend gazillions of dollars advertising their junk, so people buy them. i used to run a 66 year old onan 10 KW unit. always starts. it has at least 1000 hours on it. . but last year i replaced it with 34 year old 15 KW onan with only 468 hours on it.
  7. finally heard from my cousin. they are fine. sorta. female Pat has Alzheimer's real bad and is bedridden requiring 24/7 care now. . the storm took out power, trees, and other things, but closest water got to the house was about 250 foot. big problem is the generator would not start, and male Pat (yes, they are both named Pat) did not want to leave his wife alone to go see what was wrong with the generator. when their neighbors saw the house was dark, they came over and moved female pat to their house so she had oxygen, and heat. they have not figured out what is wrong with the generator other than it is a generac POS. male pat said as soon as things get back to a semblance of normal he is having it replaced with a kohler.
  8. there was a construction outfit about 45 miles north of me that ran a bighorn pulling their lowboy, and on occasion a dump trailer. they finally retired it 5 years ago. it still looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. has an 8V92T detroit in it.
  9. i have seen them both ways with primer pump, and also without.
  10. yup. with another company. got a petercar with a cummins and a 13speed, so he could powershift without doing damage.
  11. my grandpa always told me "never buy a cow that gives ya free milk". i made that mistake ONCE. once ya buy it, that milk turns sour and dries up real fast! 😁
  12. from what i was told be the guy behind him, the loaded 70,000 lbs tandem actually jumped almost 12 inches off the ground when the trans went into 2 gears. the driver was not the brightest lightbulb in the package and could not figure out why the truck was not driving anymore. that was his third truck demo derby in one year. it took me close to 45 minutes to get it on the lowboy and off the road. had to get a 966 cat loader to push it up on the trailer.
  13. free fish dinner!!!
  14. only among friends that will use what you say later, and at the most embarrassing time for you!!! 😁
  15. i used to freak out dump men when backing up half mile long highway ramps at 45 mph.😁
  16. ok. i have heard of that one, but never saw or drove one. but that was how i would run the 88 "R" with the 300 and twin stick 5 speed when i had a heavy load and needed to get moving on an upgrade. 2 low and 1 high were about a half gear apart, and really helped starting off on a hill at 100 ton.
  17. and also happily single now. i never replaced the money spending blood sucking leech after the last one left.
  18. 35.. you aint nuttin but a baby still!!!! 😁 i was draggin a 32 foot trailer behind a 49 international L190 down the road 18 years before you was born!!!!
  19. how about detonating trans and both rears "speed shifting" at 45 MPH, and bending shift forks, so the trans engages two gears at once. the results aint pretty!!!!!
  20. sure would. when people say 7 speed i think of the straight 7. i never saw an air shift 7 speed trans
  21. chicken.... it is obvious who wears the pants in your house!!!! 🤣
  22. my niece posted a short video of her grandparents house that now belongs to her and her brother. they us it as a vacation house. it is in Ft Meyers. security cameras are 8 foot up below the gutters. inside cameras were out, along with 3 of the 4 outside cameras. but the one that was still working showed the water lapping at the camera, then halfway up the lens cover before dying. her brother has not got down there yet to see if there is anything left of the house. my aunt and uncle's new house is on a lagoon in Naples. their floor is 10 foot above the lagoon. they did not get any water inside. but their old house they sold 3 years ago is gone. washed away into the swamps. my cousins in Ft Meyers are MIA. they do not have cell phones, so we can not get in contact with them. but they have been there over thirty years, so i am sure they took off as soon as the warnings went out are hanging out in Miami until they get the safe to go back home message..
  23. i don't know, the yellow "B" with "L" cab and V8 emblems looks pretty sweet too!
  24. looks real good. what are final plans, move pipes behind sleeper and slide sleeper forward 6 to 8 inches?
  25. is that a dummy rear axle? it looks like it is an air lift tag axle. i wonder if that rig used to be a single axle and had the frame lengthened and a "tag" axle added.
