  2. yes they could Bob. unfortunately 99% of what youngsters see today goes in the eyes, and rite out the asterisk seconds later.
  3. Superdog... or Underdog, with a picture of the cartoon character under the name. Underdog: my 79 DM800 was called the Mud puppy, because 99% of the time i was working offroad in pits with mud roads.

  5. i am so glad i have not turned the TV on in close to a year if those are the offerings!!!
  6. until i got the hearing aids if i wanted to be in a conversation with someone or a group i had to be right ear facing to them. and now with the hearing aids, if the wind is blowing, tv or music up loud, or cars-trucks passing by, they overbear the conversation because of the louder tones.
  7. Paul, it is not just over there. my left arm i have had 6 spots removed over the past 25 or so years, and now have to wear long sleeve shirt whenever out in the sun or in a truck without tinted windows.

  11. problem with the 3208 in a pickup is going to be trying to keep a driveshaft in it.
  12. the real "throw away" engine was the 8.2 detroit fuel pincher V8, those turds were almost useless. a 3208 would run circles around them.
  13. my niece lives in hollywood. about 4 blocks from the big scientology church. up until the fires she had homeless living on the sidewalk in front of her house.
  14. I have seen it from both a bad solenoid, and also low voltage from bad batteries
  15. I saw one around 10 years ago. It was a county truck. 3208, 4 speed automatic trans, and 4 speed manual auxiliary trans. 10 yard body tandem drive A real slug even on flat ground. Throw a hill or two in the mix and it takes 1/2 hour to go 5 miles. Only reason ted got it was 5 grand with 20 k miles on it
  16. i used to pass a 80's lincoln town car with a window unit in the passenger rear window with wire running to the generator ratchet strapped to the trunk lid a few years back. the car was not in bad looking shape either...
  17. any time i had leaks on the range splitter they were fixed by replacing the o-rings in the head. no need to replace the whole thing when a few o-rings should fix it.
  18. Rubber chicken? I was there, and clearly heard you ask for rubbers, and chicken
  19. esso changed it's name to exxon 2-1-72. so it had to be before feburary 1972
  20. i always referred to them/heard them called pancake mufflers
  21. it could very well be original miles. my friend just sold a 97 kenworth with only 220,000 miles on it. and i have seen quite a few 80's and 90's trucks with less than 100k miles on them over the past few years. farm and stone quarry trucks are usually very low miles but rode hard and put away wet.
  22. That is 286,500 mules.if it was millions it would be 7 digits plus 10ths

  24. three years ago local tow outfit went up for sale after the owner passed away. every relative and their brothers 4th cousin came banging on the daughters door looking for a piece of the action, even though she had not seem 95% of them in over 30+ years. she told them to all eff off, leased the business to one of her fathers good friends, and disappeared. i saw the 84 superliner wrecker for sale about 2 months for $289,000. yea it only had around 75k miles on it and looked like it just rolled off the showroom floor, but the guy only bought it to flip..... for $50,000 i haven't seen it listed anywhere in about a year now. dont know if it sold or not.
