  1. this morning headline of the nu yawk post is oil price increases are because of putins war, not because if dopy joes shutting down us oil. sad thing is, most of the sheep will believe that fast flowing male cow manure
  2. $4.99 per gallon for regular this afternoon in central Jersey. Diesel was $5.50 at the same station.
  3. my 85 had a 300 in it and would keep up with most anything on the road. it had 27 miles on it when i got into it, and a little over 450,000 miles on it when they sold it in 2001. a friend sent me a link to a for sale ad in New Hampshire back in december. guy was asking $19,000 for it with over 800,000 miles on it. we knew it was my truck because of the custom paint. the name was changed, but the number was still the same. big blue #34 on the side of the hood.
  4. i cut back in 95, and closed shop in 2000. i was paying my drivers $25 per hour, and the truck "was theirs" i paid for everything, but they took it home and kept it clean. when rates dropped down to $30 per hour for truck, i said enough and sold the trucks to the drivers if they wanted them. i still do an occasional move for friends when they need it. all but 1 of my 7 trucks are still on the road. the first 89 was killed 4 years ago when a large oak tree fell on the cab crushing it. when it was pulled apart we found the trans case cracked, and the frame bent. with a little over 600,000 miles on it, Pete decided to let it go and parted it out.
  5. nothing fancy funny or interesting here. my initials are T.J.C. my heavy equipment escort service was T.J.C. Transportation Services. i just shortened it a bit for my username. tjc transport.
  6. does anyone know if Michelle's website is still active? i lost track of her a few years ago when TFFN server crashed and we could not get the forum back up and running.
  7. blah blah blah. 😁
  8. when truckers can no longer afford to pay for fuel and park their rigs, train companies can no longer afford to keep fuel in locomotives, and the people start starving because no food is getting delivered, the second revolutionary way will start. and the people who depend on the "grunts" of the world will suffer the most. we know how to do without. we can hunt, grow our own non meat products, we know how to make clothes, how to stay warm without natural gas or electricity. and we know how to defend ourselves.
  9. we are very lucky in the short term to be building a new shop, so we are not taking any new work for the new 6 months or so. i feel real bad for my friend, he has 47 trucks on the road, and just bought 5 more last month being delivered in the next week or so.
  10. climate change over there don't count. they don't care about it, so we do not either.
  11. not only in 08, but also in 2011 or 2012 diesel was close to $5 per gallon. fuel was so expensive we stopped working rental, only going out for our own work because we could not add fuel cost into the rental price. why go to work for $620 per day when you are spending $450-$500 per day in fuel? at least on our own jobs we could add fuel cost to the finish price due to a fuel cost clause in the contract.
  12. oh i hope not either Larry. but with the idiots in charge, i would not be surprised to see it.
  13. there has been no listing in texas for obituary yet.
  14. i would not be surprised to see $10+ per gallon before all this stupidity is over.
  15. she very well could have been Harry. i seem to remember Michelle and the owner of The Ford Falcon News talking military back in the early days of TFFN.
  16. you will get no argument on the world has gone mad from me Paul!!!
  17. hope. plain and simple. company owners are surviving on the hope that the demonrats will finally be evicted from DC next election cycle.
  18. $3.57 per gallon yesterday for regular. $3.89 this morning And diesel is $4.46 as of 7:30AM.
  19. wow, this is sad to read. Michelle was very active on TFFN and FTE for many many years. i guess i will have to break the news on those sites.
  20. i fondly remember Nappi trucks rolling up and down RT#34. a funny story about the Nappi terminal. they used to let us do training with the fire department there. one day the call came in for a hazmat spill with men down in the tank wash bay. i pulled in with the 85 foot aerial ladder and was setting up when an OSHA man came over and slapped all of us on the truck with big red dead stickers. seems the front bumper of the truck was 2 inches over the "safe line". lesson learned. stay far back !!
  21. agreed. i would not mind having a rig like that at all. it is stunningly beautiful, and looks like it was lovingly restored and cared for.
  22. welcome to BMT. sorry about your dad's passing. that truck is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. in the past year or so, unrestored but good shape trucks have sold in the 15 to 20k range, so i would think $25,000 to $30,000 would be a fair price.
  23. oh come on now Joey. havent you been watching CNN? they plainly explained the damage was caused by the evil farmers themselves to make them look good. word is they also have video footage of a few farmers getting together and destroying fields and crops.
