^^^ i always wondered what happened to that sterling. it was a real beast. top speed was only around 40 mph. it was owned by Haines Towing in Bordentown NJ. and was their heavy tow/recovery rig. it lifted me out of a ditch when i hit something in the road and blew out all 5 passenger tires. loaded at 65,000 lbs on a tandem box truck back in 78. picked the whole truck straight up and set it down on a flatbed trailer to get it off the roadway.

I doubt very much the speedometer has been altered. These volunteer fire trucks get very little use and ofter have under 500 miles per year use..especially the tankers and aerial ladder trucks. We sold a gmc 9500 "crackerbox" ladder truck that was 30 years old and only had 11,000 miles on it. The 80 C750 ford tractor only has 6,000 miles on it when sold in 2005 -

i remember that truck. it was always washed before being put back in the garage. and there were only a handful of drivers qualified to drive it. Freehold is only about 20 miles south of me.

we had a john deere 55 hydro gas. not bad to run, but constantly overheated cause the radiator would always plug up.

It really is not that hard. When I was doing road tests, I had one oerfissiminal that could not shift without using the clutch and grinding. After the third time trying to find a gear, I grabbed the shifter and told him to leave the clutch alone and let off throttle. Then told him when to get back on it. I had a 4 mile on highway route and shifted from the passenger seat the whole way. And did it at least two ti.es a week until I stopped giving road tests

the only way to get over this is to A: ban all news media for 6 months. without news media to stoke the flames of fear, the fire will go out. B: fire every single politician and start over from scratch with term limits, and no chance for pork. by replacing every single career politician with citizens with no hope of becoming the people they replaced, just maybe we can get our once great country back.

yup. the gauge on my quick fill ac can said it is full. but the ac still cycles. what did i do wrong? "you need to put a proper AC manifold gauge set on the truck and monitor both high and low pressures, then set refrigerant charge to ambient temperature" you have no idea what you are talking about. the guy at the parts store said to just put this can in and i would be good. "whatever dude, i am the one that is a certified ac repair tech, not the parts store counter monkey."

yup. ask a question, then 5 minutes later they are back "why no answers? internet says yall are the best. screw yall" we are supposed to be glued to the monitor just waiting for them to ask a silly question they will not like the answer to and ignore what we say anyway.

My experience on the Ford truck forums is they either get the answer, fix the issue and never come back to say thank you, or get an answer they do not want to hear and go ask other places until they hear the answer thay want to hear.
