  1. believe it or not, but i have no problems at all parallel parking a truck, straight job or trailer. put me in a car or pickup though, and i either drover the curb, or am three foot off it.
  2. no. plain and simple. your ancestors came here legally, so you are not entitled to Jack sheit. well, that is not completely true. you ARE entitled to something. you are entitled to pay for reparations for all the illegals like all the rest of us legal immigrants.
  3. not in Australia they didn't
  4. here in new jersey, they make you parallel park. and only give you 15 foot over the vehicle bumper to bumper length. more people fall the road test for a simple thing like not being able to open the hood than failing the driving test. people are now getting smart and advising learners to use a truck with a small hood or one with hydraulic lift assist instead of taking something like a superliner, W900, or 379 Pete
  5. ok, that works for me. i was just wondering, because the salesman was trying to talk us into disc brakes. we average 150-175 thousand mile son a set of brakes on the tri axle dumps. and we change brakes when shoes get down to 1/8 inch. shoes, drums, S-cams, and hardware kit. we are firm believers in replace everything , unlike some of the other outfits that just replace shoes and then wonder why the truck still has no brakes.
  6. Here. In the states we use drum brakes on big trucks. I know that in Europe and Australia disc brakes are very popular. We are soon ordering a few new dump trucks, one tandem, and one triaxle. So my question, what are the pros and cons of disc brakes? Should we spec the new trucks with disc brakes, or just stay with the drum brakes everyone else uses.
  7. try shifting without the clutch. slip it out of gear, and gently move the stick to the next higher gear. just barely hold it there, don't try to jam it in. when the rpm's are rite, it will suck into gear. i want to say the split between rpm's is 800, but it has been so long since i was in a quad i simply can't remember.
  8. my bet is she epoxied the shop floor to look as good as the truck, and painted herself into a corner...........without a computer.
  9. my first pickup was a dodge 65 W300 power wagon
  10. yup. mid 60's dodge pickup cab. looks like he used the olds steering column, but the dash cluster has me puzzled
  11. i think he has the decimal point in the wrong location. $65 is a better price, cause it will cost a grand to get it running.
  12. don't forget the "very rare power steering"
  13. ain't it fun getting older? just wait till you are older than dinosaur dung!!
  14. i had an inner ear infection a few months ago that ended up putting me in the hospital for three days. it caused a very bad case of vertigo which was making me pass out if i moved too fast. i am still suffering from it a little, although the vertigo is no where bad enough to take the meclizine since the week after coming home. but i always have 3-4 pills with me just incase.
  15. it is not "for sale" it is an auction. auction closes 4-15-21. i expect to see the price double or triple by closing bell.
  16. top tank of radiator. about 1 inch down from top of tank.
  17. i am about 30 seconds away from bidding on that, and a 65 K125 in new mexico. fly to missury, then drive to NM, then back home. but i think if i do, the neighbors will kill me when i get home with them.
  18. first thing i would do is check coolant level. there is a low coolant switch that will turn on the shut down light.
  19. i hear you on that!! it seems every day here more poo hits the fan, and each shovel full is making a bigger SPLAT!! no matter what i try to do things just back up more. i have been trying to hire a new driver and two laborers for over a year now. no one wants to work because they make more on unemployment with the addons, and the ones that do show up want a brand new truck, 35-40 per hour and 8 hours pay but only work 5-6 hours.
  20. it takes time. when i had the heart valve repair ,i was back at work in 4 weeks. 10 years later the knee took three months. 3 years later the shoulder rebuild had me down for 6 months, and it still is not 100% 4 years later. i am fighting a sinus infection for 4 months now. 10 years ago the same sinus infection was a two week deal. pushing 65 my body lets me know real fast when i am going to try something i should no longer be doing. your body knows what you can and can not do. listen to it.
  21. i only know of one person that allegedly had corona. he tested positive for corona, so they treated him for corona for three weeks before realizing he had a stroke. that was almost 10 months ago, and he just is starting to talk and feed himself again. still cant walk though.
  22. https://www.purplewave.com/auction/210415/item/HR9467/1989-Mack-MH613-Trucks-Rollback_or_Tow_Truck-Missouri currently at $4000
  23. i don't have that problem, because i refuse to give them my email address. when they ask for it is say i don't do computers.
