  1. Looks a lot like mine
  2. Yeah this hood has bulges/creases on top like a Titan. I hope your right chu613 . It would be great to see a all new mack soon ,preferably without a volvo cab .
  3. Got this off of Facebook. Slight changes to the chu.
  4. It certainly would ride better than the haulmax
  5. I think mack axles are available with the haul max. We've had good luck with the meritor rears they seem to last longer than the mack rears. We had a CL with Neway 52k air ride and it was a nightmare so we stick with mechanical suspensions. I personally like the 50 or 52k mack camel'back the best
  6. Well we have 3 titans 2 have Hendrickson haul max 1 has Hendrickson walking beam extended leaf. All have meritor 46k full lock 4.30 ratio. The truck mentioned in this thread is now 4 years old has 210k miles.
  7. I meant CH models not childhood .
  8. Yeah I watch it with my 3 year old boy . The first episode features a superliner with a sleeper hauling demolition . Sounds like a v8 . There's a episode with some nice r models some with sleepers hauling sand and gravel. Then there's a cement plant one with a lot of DM and dmm and Kenworth brute twin steer. Seen some early childhood models in the show too.
  9. There's a show on Netflix called mighty machines it was filmed in 94 /95 has a lot of macks in it . I think it was filmed in Canada cool show even though it's more for kids
  10. You can get a Titan with a painted fiberglass sun visor you don't have to get the rawhide package. I think the chrome on the grill is a bit to wide but it's not a reason to snub the truck . You could custom order one with a painted steel bumper the painted visor and it quiet it down some .
  11. Because you never see a kw or Pete pimped out like a whore wagon.
  12. Yeah to me if I were getting a Pete I'd get the 389, nothing special about these new ones
  13. Looks like they're pushing this as a alternative to the 389. I think the old school Paccar trucks days are numbered, like it or not.
  14. Seems like other truck makers always get a pass when they have have trouble . I hear it all the the time I bought a mack had a couple issues I'll never buy another one. Then they buy a kw or Pete and have issues and brag how great the truck is .
  15. We never broke a crossmember on a CL . They were straight trucks 265 wheelbase loader on back . Severe off road use . 700k miles I have heard of that crossmember issue luckily we didn't have thato issue . There was quite a few CL log trucks in new England from 94 to 01 most were replaced with brand x trucks when traded . We liked ours they were just as good as the superliners we had
  16. 9 The frame is the worst place to try to save money . To me your better off making your truck a little heavier and a little bit more expensive and know it's gonna hold up. Yeah when I was a kid here in western new England mack was the leader in construction, heavy haul ,forestry . Things have certainly changed.
  17. Seems strange breaking frames in CL. They are a rugged truck must of been spec'd wrong . We had 3 CL log trucks with 600k to 700k miles and the frames were all still good
  18. For us the titans are efficient as anything else. All the other loggers in our area run ether western star with dd16 or kenworth with Cummins isx 15 . We ran mack e7 engines for years they did the job but on steep hill starts in the woods they didn't have enough power and the engine break sucked . For us the 16 liter engine works better
  19. I work 70 hrs a week thank u for the insult.
  20. You guys sound just like the mack guys back in the 80s telling my father he didnt need a superliner and didn't need the e9 engine or air conditioning. To me you only live once . I wouldn't buy a mack other than a Titan for heavy haul. They run cool in extreme heat. Awesome engine brake. We didn't pay 80k more than a granite for the titans I think was 12k more .
  21. TITAN. Ask your self if you were buying a kw or Pete or a western Starwood you buy a 13 liter engine or a 15 or 16 liter ?
  22. My 2015 Titan has a Spicer made in USA steering arm. Are these Spicer or did they switch to a foreign made one
  23. The hood looks longer than a regular RW. Definitely see brockway In it
  24. The town I live in here in Vermont has a 79 RM awd its getting pretty crusty so they specced a granite awd and a freightliner awd . the Mack was 24k more than the freightliner . they ordered the freightliner .
  25. Yeah we loved our pre etech e7 we had several . had a 91 400 non computer. 93 400 vmac 95 427 98 454 . all were 30000 plus hrs engines . our etechs were ok not great . ours were 460 xt descent power but always had little issues that cost big money
