  1. The etech certainly wasn't macks best. My dad bought a ch tractor brand new in 2000. 460xt. It had descent power but they had the torque cut back in low gear so when loaded sometimes ttaking off on steep hill the truck would die . Couple times he had to gave a diesel Ford pickup hook up to him and it gave just enough to get up the hill. Pretty sad for a 487hp engine.
  2. Keep running the macks. You sound alot like my dad. We've always been a Mack fleet. We stuck by them through the etech problems . Luckily we didn't have to many problems with them and we didn't ever buy any aset macks as we did a couple glider kits instead. We love our new titans. As far as cascadias go theres to damn many of those on the road stick with the macks lol.
  3. Also the engine brakes on the mp engines are just as good as a Jacobs. The low setting on our mp 10 powerleash is better by alot than the high setting on our etech Jake. You dont even need the high setting of powerleash only in extreme grades loaded to 50 plus ton
  4. dont try to get him to blame anyone but Volvo. It wont happen. Dont you know Volvo makes the worst engines compared to Detroit scania or even international maxx junk according to kscarbel . Even though the guys that run the mp like them for the most part they are actually bottom of the barel junk according to this man
  5. what engine family are you running? Maxicruise or econodyne? How do your trucks perform vs other brands ?
  6. Doesn't the 445 and the 505 both have the same torque rating. 1760 right.
  7. that is true. The dynatard was pretty much worthless. Ive said beforea tuned e9 could keep up with our mp10's iI'm sure even a really tuned up one might even pass a stock mp10 but on the down hill watch out because that mp10 powerleash is 10 times better than that e9 dynatard
  8. Not sure where . I just heard about it. Ill find out. I'm assuming plowing
  9. Kscarbel that last quote is mine. Theres no denying the legendary status of the Mack e9 v8. Yes we did run our v8 30000 hrs and we still have that superliner. My only question remains is it sounds like you had some part in deciding that a 11.9 liter 6 cylinder engine could replace a 16.4 liter v8 engine ? To me that was a bad decision. The old saying theres no replacement for displacement is true in this case. My question still remains why didn't Mack put the Bosch eup fuel system on the e9 in 1998 or 99 ? It was a flawed decision to think the e7 putting out 487 hp would satisfy customers of the e9 who were used to having 500 hp and easily tuning them to 550 to 600 or more hp . Especially when in the late 90s cat introduced the 550 hp 3406e. And later the 600hp c16 and Cummins had the n14 up to 525hp and then the signature600 al while Mack was down grading in power.
  10. I hope they beef up the f550 frame. The highway dept where I live just broke the frame right off in the front of there 2013 f550 plow truck
  11. O mighty Lord of Gothenburg thank you
  12. My brother got home yesterday and faced to the North east and said a prayer to the great city of Gothenburg Sweden because he made it through another day in his titan
  13. They also made cl gliders up until 07. The last 2 trucks we purchased beforethe titans were cl gliders set up for e7 power. one 04 and one 07. The 07 is one of the last cl 's ever made . They made about 5 or 10 gliders at the end of the run for the cl.atleast 1 was set up for e9 power. So somewhere theres a 2007 cl with with a e9.
  14. 99 model year was the last e9 truck engines in n. America and actually the cl was made until 2007 . From 2000 thru 2002 you could get a cl with e7 orcCummins signature/isx . In 2003 they made only Cummins isx powered cl.
  15. The point I try to make with kscarbel about the e9 is that it was discontinued in late 98 for North American trucks. He claims Mack trucks was designing a EPA 04 compliant v8 but Volvo killed it.my point is why did Mack not update the e9 long before Volvo took over and end up having to stop making it. By 98 the e9 was on paper behind cat and Cummins in hp torque and engine brake power. It should have been updated in the mid 90s
  16. Also dont insult me or our trucks that we work 6 or 7 days a week in that were proud to have.I drove a Mack superliner with an e9 for 3 yrs . We would have bought Mack v8 trucks in 2000 but they weren't available so we got etech460. You cant buy something thats not available .the time came to update our fleet so Mack titan was the choice . They perform as well or better than other comparable trucks out there today. If you can sell us a scania v8 powered truck in America maybe we would try one.
  17. I meant lp dam spellchecker
  18. I saw 2 PP propane trailers today. A international prostar in Rutland vt and a freightliner cascadia stub nose in Glens falls ny. Both were white .
  19. Your gonna say Mack had a etch v8 planned for 2003. Lol . Ive heard it before. It was to little to to late as Mack had already lost the heavy haul market by the time the v8 would of been relaunched.
  20. That 10 liter was a Renault design. The v8 was gone from from North America in late 98 and by that time was out of date compared to cat and Cummins big bore 6 cylinder engines because Renault didn't update it
  21. Your talking 30 yrs ago ks. I'm talking about 10 or 15 yrs ago compared to now
  22. People complain about the Mack mp engine being Volvo. The truth is these engines are better than anything Mack put in a truck since the early mechanical e7 and vmac1and 2 and the e9. Theres 3 engines to pick from as well from 325 to 605 hp. Not just 1 outdated12 liter
  23. They have a bunch of dump trucks too. And dump trailers . I thino they have a big salt contract.
