  1. i never knew fwd made over the road tractors. ive only seen them as fire trucks. some of them conventionals were nice looking units
  2. the mp10 engine brake is 150 times better than a e9 . you wouldnt believe how good it i.s. my on low setting its better than a e7 on high by alot
  3. superliners never die . but it looked alot better when you had it. just recently one of our old superliners turned back up in our area. i thought it wet to the scrapper or africa but no its back lol
  4. problem is cummins is the next worse option. ive heard so many horror stories with 2010 and newer cummins powered trucks that i wouldnt touch one
  5. mack dont make a glider
  6. that e9 925 hp boat engine would look nice in a mack glider kit if they still made them . wonder if it would fit in a western star glider
  7. i like international. they made a good product priced cheap and the paystar models were heavy duty beasts of burden .
  8. no doubt. i think anyone that knew even a little bit about egr in heavy duty diesel trucks would have decided to go with urea and less egr instead of more egr and no urea. it was a no brainer to me. and im just a driver. knowing all the problems mack had with there egr only engines i knew navistar was in trouble going with super egr.
  9. things are bad at navistar . ive seen several longtime international fleets switching to other brands. today i saw a scrap metal company that has had internationals for 30 years with a new mack . i also saw a mack cxu single axle oil delivery truck also from a former international fleet. also a milk hauler in vermont that always ran internationals just bought 3 kenworths and 2 macks. navistar deffianately made a big mistake.
  10. my brother loves his titan. we ordered another one supposed to be built in may. this time with the 515 hp and 1960 torque mp10. we figured we might get a little bit betterfuel mileage and saved about $2500 compared to a 555 or 605 and it should still pull strong. bullhusk i havent ran with a 600 dd16 detroit yet . most of the stuff around here is 560 or 530 hp detroit.or 550 cummins. western stars are popular in my area and alot of the guys get cummins power instead of detroit, not sure why because i here them complaining about having alot of problems with the 2010 and newer cummins. one guy said hes broke doen more than hes running and is sueing cummins for lost time. theres a few guys with the detroit dd15 and they seem to be better . but i dont know. i know of another outfit that traded in 11 kw w900 with 485 hp cummins isx for mack chu with the mp8 505 and the drivers say the macks are a better truck
  11. the isx is only a 15 liter engine the 600 cummins has 2050 torque and the mp10 has 605 hp and 2060 torque. out titan is a 555 hp and 2060 torque. the kenworth we passed was a isx 550 hp and 1850 torque rating
  12. i always liked the generals. they were pretty popular in the northeast logging industry. does anyone remember charlie kelton selling gmc general log trucks by the dozens in white river jct vermont. he was a real shister but sold alot of trucks. he even used other peoples credit to get get people with no credit into a new truck . my dad could have bought a brand new general in 1984 with ether cat cummins or detroit power and a new prentice log loader and pup trailer with no money down and he had very little credit history at the time he decided the deal was to good to be true and left keltons. i think they offered him a brand new gmc sierra in the deal as well.
  13. that is sad ..all dogs go to africa. what a shame. if you want an older truck youll have to get a paccar or fruitshaker pretty soon
  14. i used to see that white superliner on theroad quite often. havent seen it in 5 yrs or so though. it had a 350 in it i believe
  15. i guess hes getting about 4.5 mpg pulling 100k lbs
  16. ours is a 555 maxidyne with 4.30 gear ratio and 18 speed fuller. it wasnt even close goin up a 3 mile pull . id like to see this 600 cummins must be tuned up
  17. was riding with my brother in the titan and came up on a 2013 kenworth w900L with a cummins isx 550 loaded with logs and we were loaded with logs and the same weight and we smokedby the kenworth like it was standing still. very impressive
  18. everything ive heard people like the m drive. i talked to a logger that tried one out and he said he would deffinately buy one . he had 125k lb load and it worked great up and down hill. he currently has a chu with a 505 18 spd and has no complaint with that
  19. i remember seeing some canadians from quebec running those hauling lumber down to the northeast u.s. and picking up logs to go back to quebec . i love the red elite interior very classy.
  20. also i wonder why in 1990 sales of superliners declined so heavily . i can see why they stopped making them . i wonder if the ch series cut into the sales . i think that if they kept making the rw sales would have exploded in the mid 90s when the 427/454 engines and classic long nose conventionals became the big thing
  21. thanks for posting thats great info . could you tell me how many CL were made ?
  22. someone told me a long time ago that mack only made about 3000 superliners ever ?
  23. whats the e9 525 ? i know australians had the e9 525 and later 610 but i didnt see a 610 in that info
  24. hey 3p sometime in may our next titan is being built its going to be black with a red frame. maybe you could find it on the line again ?
  25. i agree this volvo / mack thing is getting old. get over it mack is owned by volvo . if you dont like it dont buy one. its that simple. i wish mack was still american owned but its not. so to keep whining and complaining is pointless. maybe someone here has a few hundred million and could buy mack from volvo.
