  1. we just ordered another titan so probably wont buy the volvo version but maybe next new one in a couple years we will try the volvo
  2. volvo introduced a heavy duty vn series truck called the vnx available with 600hp d16 engine and i shift automatic and heavy rear axles . and 20k lb front axle.
  3. Very cool. What is the reason Mack stopped all these lines of trucks ? And don't give me the Volvo answer because these big heavies and other mack lines were gone long before Volvo.
  4. i like the white in the weeds . the first truck my dad drve was a long nose white with 318 detroit and 13 speed spicer. he hauled chips from a sawmill in southern vt to international paper in ticonderoga ny when he was 17 yrs old . he said it would do about 85 mph on the flats going up route 22 in ny.
  5. i agree. until they put volvo cabs and hoods and discontinue the mack transmissions and rears start building macks n the same factory as a volvo ill say macks are different. kscarbel gets on here and starts bad mouthing everything about volvo and new macks it gets old to me
  6. maybe casella has a v8 CL in coventry and a 454 CL in the mendon terminal
  7. i see kscarbel didnt reply to you 84superdog. i agree he has a problem. ether he got fired by mack or volvo r something because he has a horrible attitude. we have a new mack and its a great truck and have talked with other guys with newer macks with the mp engine series and they have positive things to say about them.
  8. i have a friend in nigeria that runs a ch sleeper cab mack and loves it .
  9. i think mack and volvo are still different . they use alot of the same parts but all macks are built in macungie by mack employees some have been there for 30 yrs and they take pride in there macks and are still almost entirely hand built. you can still get the mack transmissions and rearends and suspensions
  10. i thought casellas CL had a e7 454 . i was at the there garage in mendon last yr using there scales and saw a couple new GU dump trucks along with CV and RD models. Markowitz has a CL 733 with cummins power for a lowboy tractor . and several RD and CV Dump trucks
  11. ive heard of several newer freightliners burning up , one was a cascadia only 2 yrs old burned to the ground in a matter of minutes . the guy went out and bought 2 more new coronados . go figure
  12. ill be searchingfor macks in vermont . rutland area is a big mack area . casella, carara, markowitz, fabian, carter, didos, alot of macks and tatro log trucks of coarse from stamford vt a little further south
  13. no thanks on a vw pickup ill keep my chevy thank you
  14. i thought obama was getting this economy rolling ....
  15. deffinately e7 any yr from 90 to 97 or e techs from 98 t0 02 are good too. probably the 460 xt etech wich had 487hp and 1760 torque is the most powerful mack 6 cyl engine . they are pretty reliable too. i run one in a 04 mack CL700 glider kit i got it turned up put out about 525 hp will run with 550 cats no problem
  16. mts self whenno doubt the good old days are gone. but mack was aleady a shell of its former glory when volvo took over. i think you can take any company and look at old brochures and say remember when but todays world is alot different . look at a chevrolet brochure from the 50s or 60s or even 70s and see how many different models of cars and different engines you could get and compare it to today, same with ford or any motor company. its not as easy as it used to be complying with goverment emmissions standards and crash standards and fuel economy standards. look at a kenworth brochure from the 70s youll see many more options then is available today .
  17. im not in charge of mack trucks i cant build a titan or superliner with a big sleeper. i can only say mack doesnt want to build them i guess im not sure why. they only arket the titan for heavy haul and logging. i guess they think the pinnacle rawhide is there long haul owner operator truck. to me it would be as simple as lengthinig the front of a chu by 10 to 12 inches and sticking a mp10 in there and bango you got a superliner for the road . its not rocket science... come on mack build it
  18. why pay 110 for cat oil when you can tractor supply traveller brand for like 50 bucks for a 5 gallon pale
  19. yeah i agree most petes and kw's i see are cummins powered even the smaller ones have the isx 12 instead of the mx.
  20. i dont get all these guys that dont like the america titans . are you crazy ???? best truck mack has made since 1993 and you guys dont like it lol
  21. looks like the one sitting up in woodford mountain in vt
  22. i agree mack needs a long nose highway tractor with big sleeper options .
  23. no . mack is pushing us to buy mack trans and rears so they want to sell the mack components.
  24. no it has just the 2 torque arms
  25. i drove our superliner a few days while my CL was down for a new clutch and i had alotof gawkers and compliments on how mack never should have stopped making the superlinerand they were the best looking trucks ever made. they are deffinately a modern classic. but today i got back into my CL and realized how much better it drives and the bigger cab is much more comfortable but theres something about a superliner that makes you feel proud to drive it. I have to ask kscarbel why he is bragging the australian superliner but runs down the us titan ? iits basicly the same truck differant name.
