have you guys ever ran with a mp10 ? ours pulls 120k lb loads like a 460 pulls 80k lb loads it is very impresssive, im sure a tuned u e9 would give it a run but i think it would be very close . and once you started down the mountain the mp10 would leave you in a hurray as its engine brake is like nothing weve com across before. on low setting its better than a e7 on high

yeah ive heard of that before . i was talking to some canadian log haulers that used to run CL MACKS WITH E9450 AND THEY DID WHAT YOU SAID TO DO AND they said that there was nothing on the road that would pass them . now there company has W900s with 500 cummins and they say the old CLs would roast the new kws. our e9 is a 1989 model what pump would it have ?

i think that mh magnum was in a mack calendar in the late 80s or 90 there was also one with a superliner magnum with a babe in mack calendar, me and my brothers had them hanging in our room

well our e9 is basicilly stock 500 with 1660 and the mp10 is a 555 with 2060 so it should have more than the e9, its differant power with the e9 being mechanical with a air throttle wich i think is not set right but we have never been able to fix it since we put a new pedal in it. and the mp10 being electronic and brand new . but i would love to see the e9 pass the malvo engine

wont a good running 350 mack e6 have as much or more power than a 400 cummins ntc ? i remember as a kid my dad wouls pass 400 cummins with a e6 350 4 valve and would smoke a 350 cummins . im just wondering if anyone else has for experience with mack v cummins ? also we had a 87 superline with a 350 that was turned up and with 442 gears ratio and it would smoke a 425 cat gmc general . but our 350 with 464 gears wouldnt keep up

thats one thing that irritates me is towns and fired departments selling off trucks with no miles and spending tax payer money to buy new things that will sit around collecting dust -
we tried to figure out which holset to put on our e9 and couldnt get any answers from the mack dealers. so we went with the borg warner. our titan has a holset on it from the factory an man does that thing go. i hate to admit it but the mp10 will walk over the e9

i love the new granites they are sharp looking trucks. ive only seen one kitty cat truck on the road and it was a gorman brothers asphalt tanker. up in upstate ny, they have mostly mack i wonder if cat gave them one to try ?

ive heard that next year the m drive will be available in vocational models. it is already available in volvo vhd and australian mack titan and superliners

first mack i drove was a 89 superliner with a e9500 and 18 speed fuller. the first mack i drove alone and hauled a load of logs with was a 93 superliner with a e7400 and 12 speed both trucks had 50k lb camelback rears. i still drive the 89 big dog once in a while -

thats the battery box . yeah they deffinately have power ours has more power than our e9 superliner -
yeah i think shes a mutt. it has hendickson rubber block suspension and mack rears with cone style axles six lug . deffinately a strange truck. it also has button tuck headliner and a oil fied truck type bumper. ill post a picture the next time i see it.

that was my guess . we had a 82 r tractor that had tan interior . i know a guy that has a 85 superliner that has gray so it must be in the 83 or 84 range . i dont know if they overlapped any

im just wondering what yr mack switched from the tan interior to gray ? my friend recently purchased a mack rd log truck with tan and brown interior and a hood scoop and it has a 5 and 4 tranny. he thinks its a 1986 but i know its older than that. it has round fuel tanks but they were made in 1995.

nice old truck . im not a cat man myself but its still a superliner. joseph equipment in new hampshire was advertising a 89 superliner with a 425 cat all rebuilt and a 8ll tranny really nice shape, they also had a 89 superliner with a e9500 that was cherry . it had dual aircleaners 13 speed and 58 rears reallly sweet trick 300k miles on it from florida

that is cool. i hauled logs from a guy that was skidding them with a helicopter once. it didnt impress me , the guy didnt put much wood out. he had a old vietnam huey took one maple or oak log at a time . -
yeah that 98 should be alot better than a old e6 350 you might want to invest in a pacbrake . i know ours is awful without the stealth/pacbrke. i think they had the jake detuned on the trucks with the stealth setup. the E7s and etech jake brakes are not that bad alot better than a dynatard

oh yeah maine, i i dont know too many guys from up there im in vermont but i know a few guys. sounds like a nice guy -
we have a 98 CL713 with a stealth brake and it works great. .as a matter of fact it broke once and the regular jake brake with out the stelth hooked up is awful. so we put a pacbrake exhaust brake on it. we had a 95 western star with a 425 cat and the 454 with the jake and stealth combo outperformed the cat jake. i guess alot of people didnt like them but we have had good luck we bought the truck brand new and like the stealth. my dad actually built a 07 CL glider kit with a vmac 2 427 and installed a exhaust brke on that as well. works great . we are in the process of installing a pacbrke exhaust brke on our superliner with a E9 500 as well.

a few years ago in the tnt book there was a 77 brockway that looked just like a superliner for sale . i think it had a cummins engine. it was a cool looking truck. it was a set forward brockway with a fiberglass hood
