    thanks hat city.. i appreciate it. the greeen cl and the western star are for sale if you know anyone lookinf for some long wheel base heavy trucks . the star comes as a package deal with a 08 serco 7500 . asking 65000k its a 01 with 380000 miles. the cl is a 2000 with a 460 strong runner it has about 550k miles on it it sells as a cab and chassis ,

    they have a awesome engine brake i believe 565 or 605 brake hp. its the powerleash but with a 16 liter engine theres alot of holdback

    yeah i dont think cat will back up anything. i remember back in the 90s a guy bought a new western star with a 425 cat . the motor blew up with about 50k miles and cat didnt want to warranty it citing driver abuse . and with these cat trucks being internationals at heart with the super egr set up i wouldnt touvh one with a ten foot pole

    i think them automatic transmissions are made by allison not mack. you cant get a m drive in a granite. i here all these same complaints from guys running petes and cummins engines and new western stars , they say thy are junk. its the govt not the trucks fault. trucks are made to work not have more sensors and emmisin crap . theyve ruined all trucks not just mack . just my opinion

    i think the mack cab will remain for a long time. look at western star and freightliner they have different cabs and peterbilt and kenworth have differant cabs. i dont think they would have legthened the mack cab and made new models like the titan and gu designed around that cab id f volvo was planning on making mack and volvom share a cab in the near future, maybe futuremack highway trucks will use a volvo sourced cab. but that remains to be seen. also if volvo doesnt let mack engineer new products why did mack finally just come out with the new carriers that have double lock rears, something mack was behind on for the last 20 years

    i dont have a problem with the trucks mack is making now. like i said i think mack is making some of the most competitive trucks they haveade in 10 yrs or more. i love the new titans and gu .

    i know the superliner frames were strong and the CL frames were same as superliner frames i love the rw and cl. they had rugged yet light weight frames. we always were 3k pounds lighter than guys with western star log trucks because of the frame and and mack engine . so we could carry more logs and be more legal weight .

    we have 2 cl gliders a 2004 with a 2000 460xt and a 2007 with a 1995 427 great trucks .. i wish they still made cl glider kits

    as far as volvo chassis being less strong than a old mack chassis is false. the new gu granites double frame has a much higher resistance to bend rating than the cv granite or the rd . or even the cl700 . so why is that a bad thing its a stronger truck. i think mack has its most competitive line up in years.

    seems like some people want to see mack gone . if you want to keep mack alive buy a new mack . not a navistar or paccar truck . enough said. things change . volvo owns mack and shares some components just get over it. once again if it wasnt for the new mp series engines mack would be in serious trouble right now. maybe im wrong but did mack/ renault have some secret new engine in development back in the late 90s that would have offered 550 to 600 hp ? i dont think so. was volvo the one that killed the superliner back in 1993 ? or the e9 v8 in 1999 ? or the rd800 ? i think the renault mack alliance wasnt as great as kscarbel says just my opinion
