  2. mack e7 engines last forever with even mimimal maintenance lol.. we had a 93 superliner log truck with a e7 400 vmac1 that had 35000 engines hrs and didnt use oil. and we have a 97 cl700 with e7 454 that lasted 29000 hrs . my dad had it rebuilt just to be safe. when they twore it down it was like new inside
  3. I AGEE THERES ALOT OF IDIOTS OUT THERE THAT HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT MACK E9 ENGINES OR ANY MACK TRUCK . WE ALWAYS TOOK CRAP FROM CAT GUYS UNTIL MY DAD BLEW THERE A****ES OFF WITH HIS SUPERLINER . I REMEMBER THE DAY WE PASSED 3 WESTERN STARS 2 WITH 425 CATS AND ONE WITH A 460 CUMMINS. I MEAN WE ROASTED THERE BEHINDS GOING UP WOODFORD MTN IN SOUTHERN VERMONT. THE OWNER OF THE WESTERN STARS ORDERED A NEW STAR THE NEXT WEEK WITH A 600 CAT . LOL... ANOTHER GUY BOUGHT A STAR WITH A 550 CAT AFTER WE PASSED HIS TURNED UP 425 WITH OUR MACK V8. WE LET THE PERFORMANCE DO THE TALKING . WE ALSO PASSED A 500 CAT WITH OUR 460XT SEVERAL TIMES. THE GUY WASNT TO HAPPY LOL
  4. YES NO DOUBT WE HAVE A E9 500 TWO VMAC 2 427 AND 454 AND 2 ETECH 460XT ALL ARE RELIABLE WITH NO B.S.
  5. thanks so it sounds like the ai is better
  6. im just wondering what the differance is between mack ac and ai engine series is. i know they had differant hp and torque ratings . im wondering which one is better ?
  7. it does have a hood if you see one next to a w900 or a 389 pete the paccar trucks look like toys. the problem is they dont put them on the lots. i live up here in vermont and the dealers around me mcdevitt, vermont mack, or albany mack have yet to stock a mack titan that would be a tri or quad axle log truck. albany mack in albany ny should have 2 or 3 ready to go . they sit only 40 miles from a big paper mill in glens falls ny. it just doesnt make sense to me. heck they dont even stock a loaded out granite with the 505 for a log chassis. the same thing goes for vermont mack and mcdevitt they dont stock mack log truck chassis. if you call mcdevitt looking for a log truck they they tell you to buy a western star. its frustrating
  8. all they need is sleepers for the titan and lower the price a little. not a whole new truck .
  9. dont know yet . looking at a titan but your right big bucks
  10. gotta love the superliners and cls tough trucks . thats all we own now
  11. northwest diesel in alberta canada i think has the best mack power upgrades. custom injectors. makes a 40 etech pull like a 550 cat i have the proof lol we even gave a pete with a 600 cat a run for his money
  12. ive never been a big believer in torque. my dads 89 superliner with a 500v8 with 1660 torque would pull better than his ch with a 460xt which had 487hp and 1760 torqueand the big v8 had as much power as the 98 western star his buddy had with a 550 cat and that had 1850 torque. the 500 was stock
  13. i think 1660 torque on all the newer e9 engines . deffinately the 500 had 1660. im not 100 percent on the 450 or 400 e9.
  14. heres my two cents. mack is way better off now than they were 10 yrs ago. the new macks with the mp engines especially mp8 are way better than the ac and ai engines they replaced. yes mack still has some things id like to see them do like make a lower titan model with bigger sleepers and call it a superliner like in australia but really thats all they need in there lineup to have the best line of trucks available. also maybe a smaller medium duty truck to compete with peterbilt medium trucks.but there is no doubt in my mind they are better now than in the recent past
  15. nothinb but a paystar with a cat sign on it what joke lol..
  16. happy to see mack is back. i see alot of new macks on the road again .
  17. we kind of ordered a titan with the 555 maxidyne 2060 torque 4.33 rockwells and a 18 speed .
  18. cumm aparts in a mack ? why didnt you buy a cl733 in 06 ?
  19. is that world wide sales or us sales ?
  20. we had a 91 ch with a e7 400 mechanical that thing would out pull 475 cats. my dad bought his superliner in 89 they gave him the option to wait a few months for the e7 400 or buy the e6 350 he went with the 350. he kicked himself later on. lol. he then put a e9 500 in the superliner in 97 its still running strong
  21. we are in vermont so there are some steep long hills, we have 460xt now and 500v8 and a 427 turned up to 500 plus with a blixxton box so we really want a titan but weight and price are an issue . but i think we willl end up with a titan
  22. injectors from northwest diesel will do the trick
