  1. if I had a say at mack I would take the current chu model, add 8 inches to the nose put a modern superliner style grill like the aussie one has. keep the squared up fenders like the chu has . make it available in 613 and 713 series and mp8 and cummins x 15 options and all sleeper shapes and sizes and heavy duty frames and axles available.
  2. I think the ch and granite are to short in the front . they'd need to add 6 inches or so to the hood length . Mack told me the mp8 has enough power for 95 percent of jobs. I doubt they'll make a new truck that a cummins 15L will fit into.if they were going to do that they'd of kept making Titans.
  3. I've never seen front rims dished that deep . great looking truck.
  4. will mack north America get a truck capable of having a cummins x15 under the hood. I've looked at granites and the mp8:is stuffed pretty tight . I'd be happy with a long nosed granite with a cummins 605 hp
  5. hmm so if Imy reading this right it sounds like volvo is pulling the plug in the d16 world wide in 2018 ? I wonder if there's a new engine in the works maybe smaller lighter 14 or 15 liter . I doubt it.
  6. I don't know about that . I've heard that the old cabs are going away but for now you can get them. I honestly don't know much about paccar but we are gonna go look at a new W900 log chassis soon. I'm a die hard mack guy but you can get alot more truck for the same price as Mack is selling granites .
  7. we didn't even know they offered a console in the titan. it doesn't matter I guess . my brother might be getting a new truck this year gonna keep his titan and retire the superliner and get a new W900
  8. Mack was the old guard and made mistakes like the big 3 American auto makers . Look at Cadillac and Lincoln used to be the premium luxury brands but now the young rich wouldn't be caught dead in a caddy or Lincoln no matter what they can't lose the stigma of being old man's cars . Mack kind of had the same fate .I know other circumstances have handi capped mack but there's still a stigma of Mack being this slow rough riding truck with no luxury for the driver . Paccar came to the east coast and offered nice riding powerful trucks with the western image that captured alot younger drivers and now no matter what mack did or didn't do its hard to get back market they've lost .
  9. I personally like the cab and interior in my truck but it could be improved but it doesn't matter someone's always gonna bitch about something . The Dash in these new ones were designed for the M drive you can tell that so with a manual it is kind of cramped in certain spots like there isn't much room between the seats for storage . My brother complains about his cab not having enough room to store things.his old CL had a console to store things between the seats he misses that .
  10. What i've heard is a new highway truck with raised roof cab that opens up to the sleeper so you can stand up right out of the driver seat new hood design but cab looks to be a mack cab not a volvo cab .
  11. 5 or 6 years from now when it's time to start looking for a new truck, if a Scania V8 is available in a heavy spec corn binder, hell Yeah!!
  12. I like to drive our old superliner with no a/c a crappie stereo a dynatsrd that barely works . Then I drive my Titan and enjoy the quiet cab, nice stereo, modern engine brake. I embrace the new stuff I'm noTV to proud to admit it.
  13. So that 40 hp tractor could pull 50 ton at highway speeds lol..
  14. To me it's a matter of choice. If you want to haul big loads with a 300 go ahead if you a 450 go ahead if you want a 600 fine. Everyone gets work done their own way !! The trouble is mack is low on choices .
  15. The problem is finding drivers that would drive a 300 or even 400 hp on longer steeper trips when there are oodles of 550 and 600 hp trucks running the same roads. I know of some companies that ran 400 and 427 macks and the drivers complained so much that the companies switched to other makes with 500 and 550 hp
  16. I was talking to a guy from Michigan who has 5 titans. He's also pissed at mack. He said he's picked up some big jobs because of his titans . People want his trucks onow the job because they look rugged and strong.
  17. I don't see a complaint with the splash guards on the fenders. I drove a 93 RW 713 that rubber splash guards from the factory that faded with time. The CL' s I drove all had big fender guards. The ones on the titans look fine. There alot better than the huge ones on the granites that take up half the fender.
  18. I've got 8k hours 160k miles on the titan I drive and never had to do a parked regen. That is a awesome truck IMO.
  19. All depends on what your hauling and how many miles your running .we've had very little emissions problems with our new ones . The problem with the older stuff we have is the replacement parts never last as long as they did when everything was new. An example is our v8 superliner this winter had constant problems with engine brake not working, the air throttle cylinder and linkage in the valley of the engine broke again. We just replaced it last year. It is a double edged sword . I like the new stuff but certainly there expensive but so is the old stuff if you keep them up to standard
  20. No I'm in Vermont lol . I have relatives in Florida
  21. My father talked to a rep for mack Thursday. The rep called him to tell him that mack is giving us new grill and growler intakes for our titans that had the peeling issue . My father gave him a piece of his mind about mack . The rep agreed with what with what he told him about how they need to offer more power than 505 and bigger than 13 liters . I guess there is a mack conference in Florida soon and our service dealer is going to have us write our grievances and there going to present them to the powers that be. On another note we talked to a peterbilt salesman last week and he says that paccar is pushing them to sell there 13 liter engine over the cummins 15 liter but his customers want the cummins .
  22. I think you could get a e7 350 mechanical until 98 same with the e9 model year 99 for them
  23. They are the best!!
  24. Last year when the new volvo CEO took over they were saying all brands would have more autonomy and be responsible to turn a profit . Maybe we'll see changes soon ?? I'm not holding my breath though . I wonder if any mack designers engineers visit this site to get advice ?
