  1. Mack fans have been calling for the superliner to return since the mid 90s, all they had to was stretch the CH set forward 6 or 8 inches in the hood slap a superliner like grill on it . Not hard or expensive to do . Not gonna happen though .
  2. If they ship D16's from Sweden to Australia why wouldn't they just ship D16's to United States from Sweden if they didn't want to build them here. Still makes no sense to me.
  3. I'm sure the mack corporate guy listened to your suggestions/complaints lol
  4. I'm sure there's somethingalot better in the pipeline .😅
  5. Let them stay over there look at Paris another attack last night .
  6. I feel the same way we have 3 Titans were probably gonna get the fourth but not now .
  7. In my area it seems like alot of the bigger fleets keep changing makes they'll buy a bunch of petes then trade most of in for freightlinersome, then buy some macks then buy some Kenworths no real loyalty as I think all new trucks have quality issues.
  8. I was always open minded about Volvo/Mack takeover, whatever you want to call it. I'm not so much anymore. We've been running the big Macks Superliner, CL and Titans since 89, and now they don't offer a model like that. I know they stopped the CL after 07, but we knew the Titan was coming in 09 so it wasn't a big deal for us. But I don't see a replacement in the pipe. Our mack salesman feels the same way. He said Peterbilt and KW are killing him. He can hardly sell a truck in his area, construction and regional hauling where Mack is supposed to thrive. They're getting slaughtered, never mind logging trucks .
  9. That's why macks market share is under 10 percent
  10. Macks telling us we don't need anything bigger than a Granite with a 13 liter motor always makes the buyer want to go buy a big Western Star or Kenworth just to defy them and tell them to stick it.
  11. Yes you can even get the rawhide interior and appearance package . One thing I'm not sure of is if a Granite can be ordered with the most powerful MP8 505 C+ with the 1860 torque. Other than that yes heavy front and rear axles and I actually think the frame options were the same . I don't care for the granites big rubberized fender flares other than I like them and could be swayed to get one if the price was lower than a bigger kw,westernstar,or Pete. I'm pretty sure a Granitewith all the bells and whistles would be more than a other kind of truck with a 15 or 16 liter motor . That's the problem .
  12. My dad talked to our mack salesman yesterday . He's not happy he tried to get a build slot for a Titan and Mack said absolutely not they only had 5 build slots remaining and all 5 were spoken for he also says mack doesn't care one bit about what he tells them he's sold alot of titans and is very discouraged.
  13. Any chance volvo pulls out of North America as it looks like they are failing here to accomplish anything. We know what they've done to mack but even their own brand here is failing they haven introduced a new truck in 14 years while freightliner keeps making improvements and modernizing it's Cascadia Volvo's VNL highway truck is aging . They cancelled the D16 because of not wanting to invest the cash to update it and even theye other engines they just kind of did the band aid fix .
  14. One more point I'll throw out there . Graniteso ate nice trucks but alot of municipality and states use them so certainly not a truck that has much "sex appeal" for lack of a better term. Certainly no competion for a W900 or western star 4900 ex or 389 Pete all of which are available with 20k lb front axles and heavy duty double frames and up to 600 hp . Something mack doesn't have now on the vocational side . Heavy haulers like big flashy trucks not the same one as the state is plowing snow with
  15. Yeah like I said before why not make the titan with available mp8 or cummins 15 liter like volvo is doing doesn't make sense . The other thing is I think the d16 /mp10 was the best of mp line for reliability the 13 liter had more issues according to the mechanic we bring our trucks to we have had far less problems than than the mp8 's he works on.
  16. Odd . I remember back in 2000 my dad bought a CH tractor and salesman talked him into a mack 18 speed instead of the fuller how things change . Although the same salesman wanted us to get mack 18 speeds in the titans . I guess it depends on the dealer. ??
  17. If I were you I'd go all mack components . Make them build you at least a half real mack in a few years you might not be able to get them
  18. We could never figure out why the one we had went so good we bought the truck used and it was well used when we got it . It had a 12"speed and 4.42 gears. We actually de tuned it when we hired a new driver in it lol
  19. I hear guys complaining all the time about cummins but they keep buying them !
  20. CL from 03 to 07 cummins isx . Mack should of kept making titans with the new x15 . They'd probably sell more than the mp10 .
  21. We had a 87;superliner with a e6 350 that was putting out 425;or more thing would fly . The engine held up good it would eat a cam now and then . It gave our e9 500,a run for its money . The e9 was basically stock
  22. Hopefully the donald gets rid of that regulation
  23. We had issues with a 18 speed mack about 10 years ago ,put thousands in it and it turned out to be a little vent was plugged in the range selector. We decided to go Eaton on these new ones . We were gonna switch back to mack trans before the titan discontinued issue and now maybe mack maxitorque discontinued.
  24. I didn't know it was that high a percentage of automatic. We are serious about trying a automatic in the next truck as we aren't all that happy with the Eaton 18 speeds quality we had to do a rebuild of one at 200k Miles
  25. Yeah I agree . They might as well close it i ad high hopes when ex scania man took over ceo of volvo but seems like he's making it worse
