  1. I did a quick google search and came up with this on E-Bay. Hope it helps.
  2. Willie Dog is the one who did the project for Holzman Oil. This is the truck from the E-Bay listing before he got it.
  3. Great to see it went to a good home. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Enjoy the truck, Garden Wolf. Thanks to everyone that helped answer all the questions. Drrkgreen, I'm sure Garden Wolf has your phone number programmed on speed dial. Special thanks to you for your help. Steve
  5. Don't thank me Justin. All I did was put it out there where the people who know the answer to your question would see it. They are the the ones who unselfishly share their knowledge and experience to help others on this site. All you need to do is ask.
  6. I was going to suggest that to Garden Wolf . He is monitoring this thread.
  7. Thank you very much for your help.
  8. It was built in 1956 so the first part number would apply. Any suggestions as to sourcing? Sounds like a common part if it fits that many different configurations.
  9. I am posting the line sheet from the Mack Museum on my truck hoping that someone can answer Garden Wolf's question about obtaining tie rod ends and roughly what they will cost. I think I remember a discussion about the rebuild kits awhile back and I believe these are the ones that can be rebuilt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks . Steve

Justin, I have tried to answer your questions honestly and to the best of my ability. I am sure that someone will know about the cost and availability of tie rod ends for the B-42. There are many knowledgeable folks on this site who are more than willing to help you if they see your post.

Terry, Don't know the ratio. The speedometer was never recalibrated from the original drivetrain but I estimate it runs close to 55 mph in high gear.

Rick, Welcome to the forum. I've always thought you did a great job putting this truck together. I wanted something that was basically turn-key and once the clutch was installed that is exactly what it has been for 6 years. You should be very proud of your work. I get compliments on the truck by everyone who sees it. Thanks for your input on this thread.

Joe, Thanks for the kind words, although you could have left out the part about being "real old" ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks to both of you for the comments. Wife and I have our house up for sale and cannot include the Mack in the next chapter of our lives. This is one of those choices that you do what you don't want to do in order to achieve what you have to do.

Has been upgraded with drive train from early 60's B-61 around 25 years ago 711 diesel with quadruplex power steering maxi brakes pintle hook and 2" receiver hitch with glad hands on rear good box and hoist solid cab, interior and headliner in good condition extra set of good fenders and many other extra parts included, as well as documentation from the Mack Museum not museum quality but in very good condition (will need tie rod ends to pass inspection) Have owned this truck for nearly 6 years and still enjoy driving it every chance I get but unfortunately I must let it go. $8,000 PM for more info and pics Or Call 434-738-9584 (Landline, no texts)
  17. I spent a lot of time in this truck in the mid 1980's. Seems like a lifetime ago.
  18. Shared that with my barber yesterday. Good thing he wasn't using the straight razor at the time.. he was laughing so hard I probably would have lost an ear.
  19. Willie dog, Don't know much about these things but check the shop manual I sent you...section 101-3 and section 302-2. Hope this helps.
  20. Must be a company with quite a history...I have a First Gear model of one of their trucks on my desk.
  21. I took this picture at the Love's truck stop in Richmond Hill, Ga on January 5, 2016. The owner was from Zebulon, NC and was hauling classic cars to Florida. Despite the black paint, it sure looks like the same truck.
  22. Rowdy Rebel, Have you and your son been watching Jeff Dunham videos together? He seems to be channeling Walter.
  23. The best of everything to you both, although I don't think any of us who have been following your story are a bit surprised at how things turned out. Interesting to note how much a kind and unselfish act for your Grandma has come back around full circle to enrich your life in so many ways. Maybe the world isn't such a bad place after all, despite what you read and hear on the news. Or.....maybe Grandma is saying "that worked out exactly as I planned it." NEVER underestimate a Grandma!
  24. Tammy, I have a 2015 Pinnacle that does the same thing. Look for a switch on the dash marked "disable". This will temporarily disable the grade-gripper feature on the M-Drive, allowing you to move the truck without the 2 or 3 second delay before the brakes are released. It does not have to be much of an incline to activate the grade-gripper and it can be kind of annoying. I use that override switch constantly. You can manually toggle the override back off or it will automatically do so once the truck accelerates to 5 or 10 mph. Hope this helps.
  25. h67st, Is your son a professional artist or does he do this because he enjoys it? He is obviously a talented individual....spoken by a guy with zero talent who could not draw a straight line with a ruler if my life depended on it.
