The KW t880 I drive is a construction truck, ( belly and side dumps, lowboy ) so we run on the hyway and off road , onsite. Every now and then after easing thru a mud hole or over a dirt berm the steering wheel will get 45 to 90 degree off of normal ( usually clockwise). I can see nothing bent or no movement in the front springs or axle . It drives and handles like normal , no slop. Then after driving it for ,sometime only a few loads or maybe a couple days it gets itself back to the normal position . Any ideas? Something in the steering box ?

Hi all. I've been laying low lately. Had to update my old flip phone and got a " pain in the ass" touch screen smart phone. So I have goofed around looking at stuff. I am 59 years old. I have fallen timber, skidded logs and piled brush in the woods while in high school, ( and before). I've ran my own truck flat bedding over the road for 3 years then got back into logging, rigging my " 82 " Superliner up with 9 foot bunks. Hauled logs on some pretty narrow , steep , rough roads for 18 years , then said the hell with trying to deal with Plumcreek,( which is now Wyerhauser in Montana. Since then I've been in road construction running loader , dozer and trucks ( single dumps, truck& pup dumps , lowboys , side dumps, belly dump, belly trains. Between my log truck and all the construction trucks I have driven, I have dealt with pretty much every transmission out there. 5x4, 5x3 , 10 speed, 15 speed, 13, 18, super 10, Mack 12 speed I believe , even an automatic (I am not impressed with them). But what I am getting at is the videos I am seeing of these guys with shifters that are above their head when sitting in the seat. And the one's that have 3 shifters on the the floor, ( they say that it's a 13 speed) . Must be one for the gear box , one for the high / low side and one for the splitter. I've driven a set of sticks, and even now with the 18 speed if I can skip gears I do. All this bulls..t of putting 2 or 3 shifters in a modern truck is just to try to impress people. I'm there are others like me that don't like automatics but they don't like shifting all the time either. With the truck I drive now , pulling 2 belly dump trailers, ( 129,000 GVW) with an 18 speed very seldom do I split gears. Guess I am old and lazy......

My buddy said they were in Sikeston, Mo. I am surprised they aren't all rusted , being in that country and further east too. -

A buddy was delivering a load the other day and went by where these " old dogs" were parked. I'm sure you guys have probably seems these trucks before, but I posted them anyway. -
Little winch truck
B MACK replied to B MACK's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
It was not at a equipment place , so yes I am thinking it is in use for some activity? Hicrop10, not sure if you were thinking Castle, (which is a ghost town)or maybe Kalispell? But no ,it is in Billings, Montana. Looks like a nice straight, clean little truck. -
I saw this cute little B with winch and gin poles the other day. Not sure what model it is, I could not find a place to get my double belly dumps off the road.

My brother inlaw sent me this yesterday. He was at work , in Boise, Id. , and a storm rolled in. Notice the boy and his puppy in the clouds.

Long ear dog vs. short ear
B MACK replied to dogg rescue's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
Thanks for that info. I finally took a few minutes today , and went to my truck shed. I had a long eared dog ( desk ornament ) that my dad got , from a 64 R model. My 55 B has long ears , and my 82 Superliner has the short ears. Oops , I should have wiped all the dust off the one still on the hood.. -
Another good one is gone. The movie "Entrapment" was good. And I totally like the tattoo "Scotland Forever".

Yes, exactly. The same with eastern Montana and western North Dakota, and all that oil. And eastern half of Montana was a inland sea. And go to the high desert at Berlin, Nevada and there is a dig site with a fossil of a prehistoric 25 - 30 feet long fish. So that high desert was once covered with water also.

Thanks for the thoughts. It was down for a week cuz the shop was busy with other things so I was running a different tractor for a bit . This one is back at it again. This " Kenny" is ok, a regular T800 is better than the T880 , ( my thoughts anyway ) . But I would really enjoy being in my superliner..

Yes is a side dump . Ground was solid and compacted and basicly level, I don't know why it flopped over that day? It went over very slow and was a soft landing. only broke mirror head and snapped the hood straps. And yes, the pride...

The other week I was hauling some waste dirt and grass, ( hauled same stuff to the same dump site the day before). But this day my Kenworth laid down.

The thing that really pisses me off is that all these associations cave in and kiss the left's ass. The NFL's bullshit of letting them "take a knee" and now saying that its ok . And NASCAR , not having any balls and caving in agreeing to get rid of the Confederate Flag. I am from the north and I do not have any problem with the " Stars and Bars " .And since when did NASCAR become so political ? I always thought the advertising on the cars was sponsors : Shell , Esso , Ford , Gateraide , etc. . To me , putting Black Lives Matter on a car is JUST political bullshit.. What would they do if the KKK was to sponsor a car ? I saw an interview with Bubba Wallace in which he was wearing a " I can't breath " tee shirt , but if a republican wears a Make America Great tee shirt they are called on that right away.

I watched Tucker Carlson when I got home this evening. You talk about getting pissed off ! I can not believe this sh*t. Setting fire to a 200 year old church in DC . But what really pisses me off is the desicration and distruction of the war memorials . I have Uncles , Grandfathers and friends that served and some died. Those memorials are theirs. The small country of Syngapore ( excuse my spelling ), cained a little asshole from Ohio for spray painting something. The bullsh*t that is going on here now would never happen in that small country . They would have had things under control 6 nights ago.

Yes . It is a true tradgeity that a , yes black man, died from an aultrication with a police officer . I have yet to totally hear the "real" complete story. I have heard that the cop was a badge happy sort , there seems to be a few of them on police forces here and there. This incident in Minnesota happened on Monday, Only 2 or 3 days went by and the city was rioting and on fire. The officer has been charged with murder 5 days later. Protesting is one thing. But rioting and burning cars and buildings is bullsh*t . I am sure that 90 % of the assholes out there don't have a clue what they are protesting for , or even know who George Floyd was. Whether the " RIOTERS" not protesters are white , black, brown, yellow or what ever , they should be told , Stop , Go home or you will be STOPPED..... But all of these Democratic , Liberal Mayors and Governors do not have any balls to take control . A curfue has been put in effect , and the "so called Protesters " are still on the street. Who the f... is in charge ? Burning cars and buildings , throwing bricks and other things and looting is NOT protesting . It's a f...ing crime . All this sh*t would stop if they got on a loud speaker and said GO home or you will be SHOT …. We kiss ass to any body that has or is doing things against the law. Whats going on is bullsh*t ! What about the innocent people that own the stores that are destroyed ….. I totally believe in the 1st amendment , 2nd one very much also, but this is way beyond freedom of speech .

What is up with all of these people in office, Senators, Reps., Governors , Mayors, Judges... Some are letting bad ass cimminals outa jail , and at the same time closing gun shops to where you can't defend yourself.. Or they are trying to pick away more at the 2nd Amendment . And the latest one I have heard , in Michigan , it's illegal to buy paint or lumber to remodel your house while shut down do to the shutdown. Nor are you aloud to go out in a lake , by yourself in your boat fishing. That women is scarey..

Happy Birthday Bob. Hope that you are virus free, and snow free in western Nevada.

This unlucky fella had a cross wind get him on south bound I-15 in northern Montana last week. Winds were 50 - 60 MPH with gusts 75 - 85 . One station just east of Marias pass had gusts recorded at 106 MPH. I don't believe the driver got hurt in this roll over.

I remember some of those mentioned , Jubitz in Oregon, Boomtown in Nevada , Sapp Bros. in Neb. , Petros in Amarrillo , Tx. , Rip Griffins east of Albuquerque , N. M. , A couple real wild ones ,( when I was over the roading in the "80's) , were the 76 in Ontario , Ca. and Zimmers on Peck road Whittier, Ca. .. One that I really remember , I got caught in a blizzard in Wyoming and shut down for a day and a half at the little city itself , Little America near Green River , Wyo. . That was a cool place.
