  1. Hi, put a sway bar on it? it wont do much in straight line, but may take a little stress off the the shocks on turns and extend there life? thats my thoughts Grant
  2. I was thinking about electric fans on my R model to. does anyone know how much cfm a standard fan pulls?, my 866 has a solid fan on it and was looking at changing this over to 2 sets of fans from an australian ford, these fans draw 40amps on start up and flow 1400cfm per set Grant
  3. Rob there is a notal mount with mack mount set up on it for RR. they are about a 1000bucks down here. I gave up trying to get one for the spicer. that clutch is heavy, I just did the 866 on the ground, what a battle. a 4000lbs twin plate is one horrible thing to fit. Grant
  4. Dog dick pink, mmm go for it. trans and engine painted, I do have a slight clutch problem tho, I have a 20 speed spicer, it has a pull type clutch fork and the fork sits above input shaft, the 866 has a pull clutch but appears to have been pulled from below input shaft with grease nipple at top. I removed a 12 speed from 866. the drama i have is cable routing and clutch cable lever position.
  5. Hi, thankyou, will check them tomorrow. decided to paint motor an 20spd with good old Ford cleveland light blue. you can use the dog dick pink Rob pulled clutch off today, replaced spigot bearing, new clutch fork, shafts an bushes to. may be able to drop it in friday. then the engine mount modifacations begin thats gonna be interesting. Grant
  6. This is an interesting topic, my 866 hunts at idle from about 600 to 750rpm, cant wait to get it back on the road now. Rob I believe there is still 5 pistons and liners in Australia. any one know how well the dynatard works compared to a jake on a C15? Grant
  7. A notal mount for the eaton to fit mack mounts is easily found new, expensive but available. I am not keen on the mack 18 speed, I find its more tempermental to find gears than a eaton. how ever i have allways driven high mileage trucks. why the swap out? Grant
  8. Hi, yes its an interesting color. will pass tho. I expect to see it on that V 12 your doing! how good is the dynatard?, if i was to put 12 volts to each one, would i here them click if they work? that hose routing seems strange, why would they take the pressure away from cylinders? Grant
  9. true, but its a question of what suits to. I was suggested to paint it dog dick pink today! now that could be an interesting color! what are the 4 sensors in the cyl heads for? it has one in each head on intake side. and it has a line going from pressure side of turbo to air compressor, is this correct? Grant
  10. Hi all, am about to clean up motor and gearbox ready to drop in, what color would suit? the chassis and rest is all black. I keep thinking cat yellow, only cause it stands out, but not sure what other color will suit. any suggestions? Grant
  11. Hi, I just fitted power steering to my 69 R model and found i had to drill one new hole in chassis and re size 2 others for the mounting plate. i fitted a Ross box HFB70 and it has changed the turns from 20 turns lock to lock down to 6 turns lock to lock. Grant
  12. Hi, welcome, atleast your not in an aerodyne! i am starting to put my 69 R model back together now. a few changes tho. regards Grant
  13. why are the top shock mounts different? the one on left has a flat top on it, the right one does not. why? this is on a 1969 flintstone. Grant
  14. here is another pic, just trial fitted the new power steering box. now just have to get the drag link made up. Grant
  15. hello, just front area really. am down a cross member to. Grant
  16. Hello, how you going? hope all is well over there. am just looking really, but interested in front suspension/steering area i am building one truck out of parts from 4 here, so i have parts scattered all over the place. have used all front suspension and axle out of the F model, steering box out of a valueliner, an just worked out they have a stepped back front axle, so have to make a new shorter drag link. i am still debateing wether to fit engine with mounts on block or try and source a notal mount for the 20 speed? not really sure on that one? Grant
  17. Hi, whos got a gallery on here of an R700 rebuild? Grant
  18. can be welded, not sure if its iron or steel tho, but a good engineer will be able to help you. Grant
  19. Hi, if its the same set up as an FA532 axle its easy, no special tools required, knock old stuff out, put new stuff in. pay attention to seal position tho, designed to keep dirt out, not grease in. this part made me think a little due to the shape of the seals i had. Grant
  20. notal mount on 20 speed spicer has no mount casting in it.
  21. Hi, any reason why i cant put engine mmounts on engine? so they are no longer mounted on front of gearbox. then put the spring style mount on back of box aswell. Grant
  22. Thankyou. that was in an F model with an 866. regards Grant
  23. Hi, whats an FA 532 while your at it? i have started putting mine back together. new king pins, new front shackle bushes, new front suspension rear rubbers and new shocks so far. Grant
