  1. Hi, does any one know any thing on the spicer 20 speed? how does the oil pump work? does it turn with gear box in neutral, how is it driven? I can turn the counter shaft on that side and the pump does not turn. I pulled the pump off and the drive goes into a gear and that wont turn. thanks, Grant
  2. Hi, sold the 12 speed i had for 1000.00 and the 440 sounds good, but i can finish it for 10,000 thanks. Grant
  3. Hi, ok now the dam thing wont go! when I dont want it to start it doesnt hesitate in doing so, when I do want it to start it wont. have cracked all the injector lines and pressurized the inlet and still no go. what am i doing wrong? also the did trucks with the 866 have 2 temp gauges or one? i only ask because of the 2 thermostats. and what if one fails? doe it by pass? 4. Hi, think this may be the spot for this. has R model parts as well and the old style mirrors. Grant Accessories_Catalog1.pdf
  5. Hi, um err no. all tho if you boys come down here am sure you will do it for a while! :)and you will crawl over the other side of the road till you get used to it. just dont pull that steering wheel to hard tho, the 3rd trailer gets sleepy real quick and falls over if you do. I have seen some tiples do this with the 3rd on its side due to snatching the wheel, and one completely upside down to avoid hitting a couple of cows and another one hit 3 camels, that made a real mess. 6. Hi, should get triples there, there would be less trucks on the road if so. and your doing well to handle one wife, thats harder than anything in the world. they got men sussed, they make you think you wear the pants in the house when the reality is they know they do. you can come and drive some road trains down here if you like? atleast the steering wheel is on the correct side. Grant
  7. um hehe, um what ya complaining for? try doing it with 3 trailers! you think you got grumpy with one! imagine how grumpy you be with 3 on! been there! the farm owner says yeh sure no worries you will get that around here! you get there and what do you find? cattle grids that are to high, no unloading ramps, muddy narrow dirt tracks only suitable for a dirt bike and the list goes on. you lucky with one. 8. Hi, I am going to kick this thing in the guts this week sometime, it hasnt been run since it was a naughty puppy and barked at me 6mths ago when it started and revved its box off for 20 seconds, am draining the oil and replacing before start up, how would i get some oil pressure up first, or should i just crank it over with engine stop out till it reads on the gauge?? thanks. Grant
  9. Hi, any one know where i can get any info on these seats? I have just rebuilt one and the air ride doesnt seem to make much sense, i put air in it, sit on it and all it does is make noise and go up a little and then down, it would be like having an air leak if in a truck Grant
  10. Hi, the gove sounds like the best place to start. that would more than likely be your high pressure problem, wheres the safety valve? if thats been blowing off lately due to air it may be leaking? mines in the wet tank, but yours may be differant. you may need to get a bit of garden hose and stick it in your ear and go through all lines and conections to try find the leak. Grant
  11. Hi, it only looks odd cause the factory didnt do it. if this came out with a renault badge on it no one would complain. but never mind how it looks, its a motor home/camper van and while he has been working on it its one less that got in your way out there! the important thing about this project is the workmanship and effort it took to make it all function and look like it does. this guy has built a camper van, not a Mack with a kenworth cab and a flintstone hood and then out pulling trailers around with it. Grant
  12. Hi, true. the old days were much better. Grant
  13. what about the id tag on the left door, or the other one on the correct drivers side, in engingin bay on firewall. Grant
  14. Hi, A flintstone maybe? Grant
  15. Hi, well full rebuild, pop it on the shelf, you never no, today there is plenty of parts for a rebuild, tomorrow it may be just like trying to get a sump gasket kit for an 866. Grant
  16. Hi, what about just pulling one from another engine for now and put this faulty one aside for when you do need one? Grant
  17. Hi, raise the cab, lots more dyna mat on floor, roof, firewall inside and out. Grant
  18. Hi, whats it mean over there? Grant
  19. Hello, it has a line that comes out and goes to some other thing on the intake then to a temp switch on left hand top hose, can I remove the temp switch on top hose and plum the line from the governor to the thing on the intake? Grant
  20. Hi, whats it mean over there? Grant
  21. Hi, so the wire on the back of pump goes to positive for when dynatard is on?, I assume it shuts off the fuel when engine brake is on? where abouts are you located, if you got coons, sounds like Kalgoorlie still?, if you want them to get it you may have to drain the diesel and fill her up with premium petrol, they will sniff it to bits then! I will probly leave the 866 in it for now as I have gone to far to pull it out, its 866 with 20 speed spicer and 5.13s need a 60 inch low line bunk, a head lining and thats about it. what price you got on that 400? Grant
  22. Hi, my brakes are all done what a challenge that was. now on the back of the 866 fuel pump there is an electric terminal in the centre, what is this for? also on the front of the fuel pump there is an air line coming out of something, what do I do with this? thanks. Grant
  23. Hello, mine is bowed back. Grant
