  1. On E-bay last year, there was someone i think out west that had just the stripped out cab and he wanted big money for it. If i remember right, it was painted yellow, and the man said it was an old state highway truck.
  2. I had the same problem with mine. What i did was remove the side cover on the pump, and soaked everything down with penetrating oil. I made sure the cam lobe was down. Then i took a small brass punch and tapped the plunger down. Soaked everything down again. Rolled the engine over pushing the plunger back up. then tapped it back down. I had to repeat this 6 or 7 times to get it to free up. i know this might not be proper way to do it , but it worked for me.
  3. I was wondering who all was going to Huntsville, and if there was going to be a group get together or anything? I plan on being there but only as a spectator.
  4. changing cabs isn't all that bad. make sure everything is unhooked. i roll the windows down, slide a 4x4 through them, wrap a strap around each end then up to the bucket of the excavator. i make sure the 4x4 is up next to the vent windows, that is the balance point of most cabs. hope this helps
  5. what was the purpose of this box. i first thought it was a tool box, but there is no bottom. the box looks factory made.
  6. Thank you for the compliments. I feel lot better now that its running. The man i bought it from said it hadn't run in at least 5 years. After freeing up a couple plungers in the injector pump, and some clean fuel it came right to life, with no smoke, no funny noises, and good oil pressure.
  7. Here is a video clip of my B61 moving under it's own power
  8. i just recieved the infomation for my truck from the museum. it took just about two months, and well worth the wait.
  9. squid, your truck sounds about like mine, the book says a little over 12000lbs. A friend hauled mine on his 53 foot ramp trailer behind a 3500 chevy duramax, almost 400 miles with no problems. i have a pic of it on the trailer in the gallery under randy's b model.
  10. when the saddle tank on my old dump truck got a pin hole and had a fine powdery rust in it, i used a gas tank sealer that came in a quart can. you pour it in, roll the tank around till all the sides are covered then pour the extra back in the can and save it for the next tank. this stuff would seal small holes and cover any rust that was in the tank. it was safe for gasoline and diesel fuel. i got it from my local napa dealer.
  11. thank you for explaining the difference. i'm sure i'll have a million more questions, as i just got it home this morning. and hope to get a chance to look it over some more this weekend. thanks again
