  1. Got a little time this week to hook up the fuel linkage, my original fuel pedal was trash, took one off the parts truck and started cleaning,, Summer is a busy time around here, Baseball, Mowing, same for everyone I’m sure.
  2. I have 100 % Confidence in your work! But I do know that feeling,, A lot of moving parts on your mind when you start it up.
  3. Here is what I have, unsure if it’s the same as what y’all have.
  4. Perfect! Thanks for the video! I love that Air Starter, I grew up about a mile from Overnights Terminal, I remember that sound on a warm summer night with my bedroom window open when I was a kid ! Thank you for sharing.
  5. I’m loving reading all the comments! I’ve been in that shop , That’s going to be one of the Most “ Built to Specs “ 220s Ever! I grew up around 220 Cummins, I have no doubt that one is top notch!
  6. I think the old 2 cycle Detroits are the ‘AK47s “ of Diesels, They could take a lot of abuse and still do the job.
  7. Thanks for the Detroit story, the old 318 were very dependable in fire trucks. And the 99 GM series tractor sounds awesome pulling!
  8. That’s the good part, installing all the new parts after all the cleaning, running around is done. Looking Good!
  9. It’s getting pretty nice, I went down not long after they started it , maybe just 2 trucks and a few steam engines, A lot of Volunteers have put their Sweat and Heart into it ( I wish I lived closer, I would enjoy helping) I actually was going to loan our Hennis C Model Mack to put in a couple of years ago, Because they were a NC born trucking company, but they were getting closer to completion of the Hennis H .
  10. Joey , I thought you might be there , I had a Hennis H Model shirt on , you would probably have recognized me Grandson . Maybe I can bring him back to the Museum and meet up with you sometime. He’s interested in trains also, we usually get down there a couple times a year, Today was Truck Show and Train Day, so it was definitely worthwhile. Brocky I think they have about 10 trucks, a few maybe on loan, because they are a few different ones from last year. My Dad drove for Hennis from 1960 through the 1970s until they were bought by Spector ,, I had the Original pictures of these Hs .
  11. Good Truck Show at the NC Transportation Museum today In Spencer,NC could have been working on my restoration project,, but took the day to enjoy Trucks & Trains .
  12. Hopefully She gets better soon. We missed you.
  13. Yeah the young friend of mine with the KW beside of me took that picture and sent it, It was a good show.
  14. Thank you! I got some more information on it Saturday especially from some of those guys from East Tennessee, The one fellow said he remembered it setting in a barn for about 12 years, he’s going to try to get more information on it . I’ll keep asking, evidently it was a very popular truck in the Horse community over there after it came from Alaska and got redone in the early 70s . I enjoyed Saturday, my Grandson got there from Baseball practice and rode back home with me.
  15. Those old Tubetype Daytons look great! That brings back memories from way back watching my Dad paint those things on those H Models he drove.
  16. Yes , that picture of the “Jig” timing tool brings back a lot of memories, ours was a “Sweeney “. I remember the fellow that showed me how to set it up ran a Bunch of 220s in Emeryvilles ( that’s where my Backdrop came from) . As he was turning the engine I was writing it down on a piece of notebook paper , kinda like a cheat sheet, so I could get it in my head I still have it. Just like h67st said , he hammered me on watching those gauges! I’m sure if you got a “ Timing Class “ from the Mahoney’s It will be perfect!
  17. Very nice work! I love that LONG Hood !
  18. Yes I think you are correct about the Peterbilts out there, I would say that is why they built the LT models back in the day to grab some of that market.
  19. Got my Helper ( Sidekick) away from Baseball for a little bit yesterday, hoping to make it to the Waynesville NC truck show next week. Hopefully I can post a story of this truck in the future, I have tracked down the original owners Son and he is looking for some more pictures of when his Dad used it logging,in California, and a family member of the fellow that owned 10Tucky Stables is also looking for pictures from the 70s . t has a lot of history, just trying to get everything together.
  20. Going to try to work on the LJ some more next week, have been plugging along but Baseball kinda got things sidetracked for my main helper ! Truck shows coming up around here also , Probably take the LTH to a few since it’s drivable.
  21. Thanks for All the Likes! That truck he’s in is the LTH I bought last summer, I should have mentioned that in the picture, probably take it to a few shows,, I would love to have him in the LJ that far along this time next year!
  22. My Helper says he’s ready for the Summer Shows ,, just a few more inches and he’s going to reach them pedals !
  23. Rainy Saturday, hopefully I can get motivated and get some stuff done on the floor, I have made a lot of progress over the winter ( as I did last winter) I hope i can keep moving forward through the summer,, My calendar is already starting to fill,, My Number One helper has his first little league baseball game Thursday, Truck and Train show at the NC Transportation Museum May 20 , Spencer , NC , I’m hoping to take the LTH . And then like everywhere else,,, which is great,, a Car Show every Saturday that’s hard to turn down. Equipment hauling usually picks up through the summer ( Which is good, it supports the TOY funds, lol ) And probably most of all distractions from The LJ is Grass mowing and weed eating ! But no complaints I’m Blessed to be able to keep doing it. I’m looking forward to seeing All the trucks on this site at a show someday,, we have all seen a lot of progress and a lot of hard work!
  24. Thank You for sharing. And thank you for sharing the photos, I’m very sorry for your loss.
