  1. It’s a universal fuse box, it’s got 12 fuses, it’s even got some ground locations ( probably want needs many on a all steel interior) it has lights that come on if a fuse blows,, I ran a positive from a master disconnect switch and grounded the other side, There aren’t that many circuits to wire up , I am hoping this box will simplify it some
  2. A little more progress today, got the electric wiper motors mounted and wired ( thanks Matt for the tips and part numbers and pictures! ) I have officially started a wiring harness ONE wire to the Wipers ,,, At least I’m off and going with it .
  3. Great look ! Your doing a good job,, it looks like a factory install .
  4. That Bed will look nice with new wood, I see what you were talking about the cross members, I have bought some at Fleetpride for some trailers, maybe check if they have the same size. And yes that L cab is roomy! 2 nice rides for sure.
  5. I like it , no matter how it got there! My thinking is if that steering wheel is molded brown someone ordered it that way? Hopefully someone with way more B model expertise then me can help you.
  6. I have a great Maximum Overdrive story,, much too long to go into detail here,, Very short version,, a friend of mine was working at the White dealer in Wilmington NC , Stephen King came in and wanted to buy some trucks, My friend rode him in one, and he told him he was going to make a movie there ( and much of the film was shot in Wilmington) my friend said it sounded kinda crazy to him! King bought several trucks, I can’t remember how many, but the Western Star with the clown face was one and the wrecker that crashed the 2 newlyweds was one ( actually it was the shop wrecker they were using) He went into more detail about the whole deal . But that’s a little history i can share .
  7. Yes I’m so glad to have had Family members and Guys I worked with when I was young,, that was part of the “ Greatest Generation “ , I cherish the countless stories they told me,, Literally , from Pearl Harbor, to the Battle of the Bulge ( Even my Grandmother made Parachutes working at American Enka during WWII ) . They sacrificed so much for us . Thank you for the picture ,, and again, THANK You for your Service!
  8. Yes thank you for the information,, Thank you for your service to Our Country !
  9. Yes he is,, He was part of the “ Greatest Generation “
  10. I took the Day off yesterday, My Friend that I got the LJ from back in 1979 passed away over the weekend, he was 91 , Great guy, Army Veteran, I would show him pictures of my recent progress when I would visit him. I was Truly Honored to be one of his Paul Bearers . His real name was “ Hubert Mack Jones “ . I have a lot of great memories of places we went with the LJ , Rest In Peace my Friend!
  11. I’m sure they will turn out nice, you’re moving along , if I can spend a hour a week on mine It makes me feel better about it , after letting it set 30 years.
  12. Probably at this point I have reduced the number of wires so I’ll be better off making one. As for the 220s I’m not a expert on them,, I heard they came out in 1959, this one was a Cummins recon, put in in 1963 ,, the welding supply co had it done,, ( unsure if the old disc pump 200 would be accepted as a core back then) I have a friend with a old Gallion motor grader with a 220 , it has 2 accessary drives like mine,, I believe I saw one with a Super Charger driven with a chain off the right accessory drive,, Maybe all factory options.
  13. I love those old company color schemes , You rarely see that anymore, as I have found out with my LJ , sometimes the guys in the shop would add a little different combination. They took “ Pride “ in company colors back then for sure.
  14. Yep it’s going to be a winter project for sure,, I can’t stand messy wiring ( I’ve bought a couple trucks that looks like someone stuck a weed eater under the dash! ) But on the bright side with a one wire Alternator the wiring is pretty simple. Which was a small project its self, since it wasn’t belt driven, ( lovejoy coupler ) but works great.
  15. I got some time today to install the dash and start wiring ( I have no harness at all ). I wired my dash lights and the back of the dash, plan is making a harness from my switch’s to their components , I put a universal fuse box on the inside to feed the switch’s. It’s going to be time consuming ,,,,,
  16. Perfect,, just as We expected! Thanks for the pictures! More Motivation for Me and the LJ !
  17. No I didn’t know of any, Mostly staying on Hwy 1 from Portland to Bar Harbor,,Love Acadia ! wanted to go to the Mack museum,, but it was still closed, I went though Boston and caught some Historic sights ( and Historic Traffic, lol ) I would love to go back, I’ll Post it if I do and y’all can give me some good suggestions.
  18. They look Great! It looked like the weather was perfect also! ( by the way we got home from our Maine trip,, weather was amazing all week! , Great trip ,, I got asked a dozen times were I was from, couldn’t hide the Carolina accent I guess, lol . I met a lot of good people! Loved it.)
  19. It was nice ! Air Ride ! Very updated.
  20. Oh my,, That’s a nice H ! Anyone know who’s it was?
  21. Took a few days off from Work & The LJ ,, Drove up to Maine, Got to visit a couple of Mack guys, had a good time talking with them.
  22. Had a great visit,, I found out 3 things for sure,, Matt is a great guy, All his projects are done like the B73 , And all the pictures we have seen posted for the last few years ( and they are great) Still don’t bring out the Perfection as actually seeing it in person!
  23. Yes it was , sorry I could not set and talk,, my 7 year old grandson walked me pretty much all over that place ( thank you for the water you gave him) I’ll try to get to another show or 2 this year.
