Thanks,, It always had a taller look then most LJs I’ve seen, it does have 10:00 /22 ( now 11R24.5) ) .it gets its the higher look from the springs , it has a few more leaves then my parts LJs , it’s never been changed , at least since 1963 . It really does look like the old Howard Johnson picture I have. -

Hey that sounds great,, I’ve got 2 parts LJs ( one is gas) and they are both plumed a little different, especially to the air gov. , that would be great if you have time for a few pictures of the firewall. That copper is pretty much still in good shape, and it’s like a puzzle, keep turning and trying and eventually it will fall into place,, but pictures will make it easier. Thanks! -

I’m going to try to set the cab on this week, since I don’t have a wiring harness ( it has literally Zero wiring) I’m thinking it might be easier to wire up with no fenders, doors on it .for easy access. -

Yep ,, My Dream trucks are a LTL or a B73 There’s no telling how many I passed up ,, And no telling how many got put in a scrap yard. But I’m Blessed to still have the one I learned to drive on ( LJ ) and a couple more neat trucks along the way. -

Yep ,, same here, B models,, Willys trucks, Chevelle SS ,, I’ve hauled them all to the crusher at one point. Luckily I hung on to a few,, but like you, I could have restored the ones I kept with the money the crushed ones would be worth now. -

Yes! I have thought of that a bunch! If you have seen some of the pictures of old Hennis trucks my Dad drove from about 1960 till the mid 70s , From A50s , H Models, Bs , Fs, U models and Last Rs .I would not have a clue where to look for any of them,, Probably junked years ago! And to find the Rarest of all ,, The C was extremely lucky! It probably got saved by getting put on a farm for over 20 years near the NC/SC line ,, I would say they used it very little,, and it never got driven on salted roads. I put off even going to look at it for a few months. When my Dad passed away suddenly from a Heart Attack in 2007 , My Son was 17 at the time, he drove it to the Cemetery to his Funeral . -

Yes my son has always been interested in WWII , I had 2 uncles that were in Pattons company. While in middle school he did a video of my uncle telling about the war from The Ship ride over till the Battle of the Bulge . He has tons of WWII stuff. The Jeep is a 42 Ford . That was TRULY the Greatest GENERATION! ( My uncle with his back to the picture,, Patton in the Jeep) -

Yes that is the C ,, I’ll try to make the C story short,, in 1965 Hennis Freight bought a few C models , they sent 2 to the Asheville terminal,, 8889 ( Single axle) 8890 was a “ Screw “ as my Dad called it .I remember riding in it setting on a bucket, because it has no passenger seat, I was only 9 or 10 I could care less about a seat! Dad hauled paper with 8890 up into the 70s when they traded in for Rs . There shop for this area was in Spartanburg SC , it was sold there to a Chicken farm, they added 3 ft and put a dump on it . Fast forward to the late 90s ,, a friend of mine that knew I had a LJ , saw it grown up in the weeds ( Bed had been removed) . He called me and told me he saw the back of the cab of a LJ ,, And I should check it for a parts truck. I tracked it down and when I found the owner we put our stories together and , I took Dad to look to confirm it was his old truck,, we bought it . Towed it home,, I cut the 3ft frame section and put it back to original wheel base,,I restored it and had a local sign guy make the decals ( Dad did not know I had them made,, I put them on and drove it to his house for Father’s Day in 2006 . So once again the Coke LJ got put on the back burner for a few more years, but it all worked out great.- 916 replies

Yes, they are smaller, the aluminum frames take up a lot of the space. Not really sure why they changed the design on the L, H & C cabs . I’m sure there was a reason. Hopefully someone has more information,, Just curious. Thanks
