  1. I have not, good idea. I will reach out to them and ask . I have sanded and chipped away at the old paint until I think I can tape it up and get pretty close to what was sprayed over the solid red in 1951 . But it would be nice to find some old pictures of Coke trucks in the early 50s . Thanks , making progress.
  2. Thank You! Yes that’s my hope also! We have been Messing with trucks for Over 100 years , ( My Great Great Grandfather,Far left. 1922) I’ll try to keep him interested!
  3. Yes the construction around here is terrible on the Interstates ! As for the Hennis C , it needs pulled out of the shed and wash about a 1/4 of dust off it .
  4. Oh Yes,, He’s been right in the middle of wanting to help me since I pulled this thing out of the shed 2 years ago and started working on it again.
  5. Yes it seems like this time of the year everybody is having something on a Saturday, it’s hard to make all of them, I’m with you, I’ll probably go to the NC Museum Show , I have a bunch of old Hennis Pictures from my Dad I’m going to try to copy and take to the show.
  6. The North Carolina Transportation Museum will have a new addition in a few weeks, they already have a few Trucks & Trailers from NC trucking companies. Just thought I would post this if anyone is interested it will be at their Truck show next month.
  7. Finally got a few hours on a nice day to prime the cab and some parts, ( With Help of Course) !
  8. Moving Forward again! Looking Great!
  9. Worked on running boards yesterday evening, mine were trashed, got the right one from my parts truck, I have been collecting parts for years for LJs ( most are pretty bad) but someone had started making a left side, I just had to finish by cutting the mounting bracket’s off my old one and weld to it . One more hurdle out of the way.
  10. Still looking great, minor bump in the road,, The bright side is the cab is not on yet ! Good thinking to check everything as you go !
  11. My goodness that looks great! I Love the shifter boot !
  12. Thanks for the encouragement! I have started it and popped the jakes on after reving it , definitely a different sound with the backdrop. I’ll try to stay focused on finishing the cab this summer.
  13. Jakes are all on and working,,, back to work on body parts !
  14. Yes that Cab back was a lifesaver! It’s ready to prime, it’s been cold around for a few days that is why I moved on to the fenders, I took the bottoms to the blaster today that should make welding go smooth. Maybe by Friday I can shoot a coat of primer on the cab.
  15. The inside of your H is going to be beautiful, I love the green paint, Here is a picture of my H dash it’s a 61 . My C is a 65 and Hennis Freight painted it a light green ( not sure what was factory for a C) I hope I can see your H up close when you get it done,,, Nice Work !
  16. Cab is ready to prime, starting on the fenders, got them both cut , now just measuring before finial cut ,,
  17. Your Paint will probably hold up much better then the rattle can factory Cummins Old Gold I used ,, I can’t tell any difference in color . My LJ /220 had a 24volt starter, I put a 12v 42 MT , just check the drive size and some use a spacer , I flipped mine over to keep the wiring under out of the way. That B73 is showing progress every day!
  18. The “ Old Cummins Gold “ is close to Cat Yellow, My 220 has a tag where it was a recon engine by Cummins Atlantic 12/1963 , and it was painted Cummins Gold ( Basically Yellow) . My guess is the Beige came in the mid 60s with the 855 blocks.
  19. Looking Great, I like your stack mount! What sort of strapping are you using to set the cab,, I ran straps through the windows when I set mine to check the backdrop clearance,, Now we will have to go under with a spreader bar of some sort,, and a lot more TLC !
  20. Your rolling along now ,, and just in time for some good spring weather to set your cab on and install all the painted parts!
  21. Bob I’m sure your exactly correct on LJs setting around in hidden places, I’ve asked all the people I know who have restored LJs and have come up short on a good set of fenders, I have 2 parts LJs and the fenders are pretty bad, the cab parts I got from Matt helped me a bunch. I would love to find good set before I start making a set, if anyone has any leads I would appreciate it. Dean
